:00:20. > :00:21.The pilot project at Glasgow's Royal Hospital
:00:22. > :00:24.for Children is thought to be a first in the UK.
:00:25. > :00:37.Baby Sophie needs extra care. She has spent her life so far in
:00:38. > :00:43.hospital. Her parents, like many, cannot always be there which can be
:00:44. > :00:49.stressful. So doctors have come up with a solution. We spoke to parents
:00:50. > :00:52.and said, what would be a good way of resolving this? A father himself
:00:53. > :00:58.suggested video messaging might be a way to update them. Staff record and
:00:59. > :01:08.film updates of the babies to their mums and dads at home. Nurses hope
:01:09. > :01:12.it will also mean their phones will ring less often. We would hope in
:01:13. > :01:15.the future that we could use this for all the babies, so it would mean
:01:16. > :01:19.when the parents wake up in the morning they will see a video of
:01:20. > :01:23.their baby, they will not see the need to phone in, they will just get
:01:24. > :01:28.up and ready to come in as they usually do. When you wear at home,
:01:29. > :01:34.what was it like to click on the link and see your baby when you are
:01:35. > :01:39.at home? It was difficult to go home but you need to. We got e-mails to
:01:40. > :01:43.go online and look at videos that the nurses had taken during the

:01:48. > :01:54.and she had a new outfit on or a video of her going back to sleep
:01:55. > :01:57.again. It was nice to show our older son who could not come up to
:01:58. > :02:01.intensive care very often. It is early days for this trial but
:02:02. > :02:06.clinical staff hope to offer it to any family on the neonatal ward and
:02:07. > :02:08.there has been interest in expanding the scheme to other hospitals in
:02:09. > :02:10.Glasgow and in London. Police have been speaking to
:02:11. > :02:13.motorists and residents in Giffnock near Glasgow - exactly a week after
:02:14. > :02:16.a gang of three masked men broke into a woman's home and stole
:02:17. > :02:18.?4,500. A fourth man was waiting
:02:19. > :02:20.in a getaway car. Photographs of two of the men,
:02:21. > :02:33.taken by the family, They were pursued by the house by
:02:34. > :02:37.relatives, and what then happened was there was a stand-off as they
:02:38. > :02:41.tried to make their way into the suspect vehicle to leave, and this
:02:42. > :02:45.is why I am appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed
:02:46. > :02:49.this stand-off in the street. It was a very busy road and a busy time of
:02:50. > :02:56.the evening and that is why we are making an appeal to the public.
:02:57. > :02:59.Efforts are under way to clear a major illegal waste dump which has
:03:00. > :03:02.brought swarms of flies to people's homes to the south of Glasgow.

:03:24. > :03:37.Guthrie Castle sits here in the Angus countryside, a few miles from

:03:48. > :03:56.who has booked a wedding here or other events to get in touch with
:03:57. > :03:58.them. The allegations circulating on social media are that a former
:03:59. > :04:02.member of staff double booked weddings and pocketed the deposits.
:04:03. > :04:06.I spoke to one man who is due to have his wedding in October, he
:04:07. > :04:09.phoned the castle and they said they could not check his booking because
:04:10. > :04:13.it was a bank holiday today but they would be back in touch with him
:04:14. > :04:17.tomorrow. Understandably, he is very concerned to know whether his
:04:18. > :04:25.wedding will be going ahead in just six months' time. The castle have

:05:01. > :05:02.Museum is taking shape on Dundee's waterfront,
:05:03. > :05:05.thanks to advanced technology. The building's curves mean none
:05:06. > :05:09.of its walls is completely flat. The advanced design has been made
:05:10. > :05:13.possible by a detailed 3D digital model which controls every
:05:14. > :05:16.aspect of the project. Our science correspondent
:05:17. > :05:23.Kenneth Macdonald has this report. The V Dundee will showcase
:05:24. > :05:26.the best in design. The design of its building
:05:27. > :05:28.is so complex, so curvy, it couldn't have been built
:05:29. > :05:41.five years ago. Here is one example of how complex
:05:42. > :05:45.this design is. This wall curves this way but it also curves that
:05:46. > :05:51.way. This is steel reinforced concrete. This wall, this thick, is
:05:52. > :05:55.holding the building up. It is a sculpture with the building in it.
:05:56. > :06:05.There is not a square metre of the facade which is the same. Everything
:06:06. > :06:09.is double curvature. New technology has made it possible. Five years ago
:06:10. > :06:15.this building could not have been made because it relies on new
:06:16. > :06:19.technology, GPS systems, satellite, lasers etc.
:06:20. > :06:21.No-one sat down at a drawing board to create this.
:06:22. > :06:23.From day one, the design has existed as a detailed digital model
:06:24. > :06:33.That virtual reality, this augmented reality, this 3-D model, the rev
:06:34. > :06:38.forms in which the concrete is poured all come from the same
:06:39. > :06:42.design, the same set of data. This was a building that we had to
:06:43. > :06:46.approach as a 3-D object. The structure is one big overall
:06:47. > :06:47.machine, the walls, roofs, floors, they all
:06:48. > :06:55.each other. It is one piece of design so we cannot chop it up into
:06:56. > :06:57.bits. The V Dundee will open next year,
:06:58. > :07:00.packed with design classics. It's already a trendsetter
