:00:14. > :00:15.The Transocean Winner has more than 300,000 litres of diesel

:00:16. > :00:19.on board and two of its fuel tanks appear to have been breached.

:00:20. > :00:22.It broke free from a towing line attached to a tug on Monday,

:00:23. > :00:24.and efforts to refloat it are being hampered by bad weather.

:00:25. > :00:37.Dalmore beach on the West Coast of the race is usually inhabited with

:00:38. > :00:44.holiday-makers and surfers at this time of year. Instead, a 17,000

:00:45. > :00:48.tonne of an oil rig remains an incongruous sight. Whether brought

:00:49. > :00:53.fresh challenges and concern today, following an inspection it is feared

:00:54. > :00:56.that two of the feel tanks on board the structure may have been

:00:57. > :01:01.breached. It was confirmed this afternoon that some diesel from two

:01:02. > :01:05.of the tanks on board this structure did leak into the sea, but

:01:06. > :01:10.coastguards said was dispersed harmlessly, and there was no

:01:11. > :01:15.pollution risk. There have been no reports of any oil close to the

:01:16. > :01:19.installation or on the beach. It may well be that this oil was actually

:01:20. > :01:24.lost when the installation came in and grounded on Monday morning.

:01:25. > :01:28.Several days after the semisubmersible ran aground here en

:01:35. > :01:39.Eileen MacDonald was first to see it when she opened her back door on

:01:40. > :01:41.Monday morning. It is complete shock and horror, disbelief. It was like

:01:42. > :01:47.being on another planet. Unbelievable. How this huge

:01:48. > :01:52.structure could be on our doorstep. As salvage teams arrive with

:01:53. > :01:56.equipment which may be used to pump out some of the diesel oil on board,

:01:57. > :02:00.the road to the beach remains closed off to allow access for emergency

:02:01. > :02:06.vehicles, and to keep the public away from the potentially dangerous

:02:07. > :02:11.site. I think things are under control. The people involved are

:02:12. > :02:17.professionals, they know what they are doing, and I'm not sure when it

:02:18. > :02:21.will be refloated, but the sooner the better. As the weather worsens,

:02:22. > :02:27.there is no way of knowing at this stage when and if the Transocean

:02:28. > :02:31.Winner can be refloated. But there will be nothing normal about this

:02:32. > :02:32.Lewis landscape until it is back it see where it belongs.
