:01:05. > :01:07.this is about reimagining the steel industry for the future and giving
:01:08. > :01:13.These slabs have been made in England and Russia.
:01:14. > :01:16.They are destined for construction and offshore energy,
:01:17. > :01:22.but they could be used for much more.
:01:23. > :01:41.symbolic of the Lanarkshire steel-making past.
:01:42. > :01:43.The partner plant of Clydebridge has yet to be reopened.
:01:44. > :01:48.It depends on finding customers and at the right price.
:01:49. > :01:56.There is no light at the end of the tunnel for the steel industry.
:01:57. > :01:59.In the UK industry there is an opportunity to serve the needs
:02:00. > :02:03.Speaking of opportunity, that return of jobs to Dalzell
:02:04. > :02:04.was not expected by those recently laid off.
:02:05. > :02:08.You don't know if you're going to be kept on, and that's it.
:02:09. > :02:14.Luckily, I was one of the ones to be kept on.
:02:15. > :02:21.Just get on with it, see where it takes us.

:02:24. > :02:35.Where the next generation still looks to a future built on steel.

:02:38. > :02:39.Now they are bringing more back to this sort of area.
:02:40. > :02:43.The people in our generation, I think it would build up a lot more
:02:44. > :02:47.opportunity for new jobs and stuff and giving people more experience
:02:48. > :02:49.and stuff to get into different traits like the steelworks.
:02:50. > :02:52.Battered and hard-pressed, Lanarkshire itself has been
:02:53. > :03:00.For now, at least, a brighter future.
:03:01. > :03:02.The Scottish Government has been defeated at Holyrood in a row
:03:03. > :03:08.A Labour motion noting widespread concern about proposals to downgrade

:04:27. > :04:32.Health Secretary. She accused Labour of trying to get around the due
:04:33. > :04:36.process whereby the county council is involved in these decisions. She
:04:37. > :04:43.will report back to Parliament on each of these. Will she speed them
:04:44. > :04:48.up? I don't think so. She will say that accelerating decisions on these
:04:49. > :04:53.would cut out people from the consultation. She will look at these
:04:54. > :04:58.proposals in detail and report back to Parliament. This is a reminder to
:04:59. > :05:01.the SNP that they are a minority here at Holyrood.
