:00:49. > :00:55.Anything else would be short-sighted, they say.

:00:56. > :00:58.This is proven to be one of the most efficient army bases

:00:59. > :01:04.It has a great record of doing the kind of things

:01:05. > :01:08.we need in modern defence, and it makes no sense

:01:09. > :01:11.that after investing ?30 million in Fort George,

:01:12. > :01:17.that they would look to close it on financial grounds.

:01:18. > :01:20.Fort George's future will be decided here, at the Ministry

:01:21. > :01:31.The MOD is one of the biggest landowners in Scotland,

:01:32. > :01:34.with an estate more than eight times the size of Glasgow.

:01:35. > :01:37.Every penny made from the sale of sites will be invested back

:01:38. > :01:41.into defence on things like the new maritime

:01:42. > :01:56.We will be losing more jobs there then we've lost

:01:57. > :01:59.in the downturn in the oil and gas industry at the moment.

:02:00. > :02:01.So you put those two together, and you look at the uncertainty

:02:02. > :02:05.of exit, and it really would be a blow to Highlands

:02:06. > :02:13.We would be more than unhappy if the barracks and the people left

:02:14. > :02:16.us, but we were left with the bombing ranges

:02:17. > :02:19.and the nuclear submarines on our coast.

:02:20. > :02:24.This is part of a wider review of MOD sites across the UK,

:02:25. > :02:29.and just one big defence decision that will impact Scotland.

:02:30. > :02:34.The renewal of Trident, though controversial, would mean

:02:35. > :02:44.The manufacture of type 26 frigates for the Navy

:02:45. > :02:47.would bring cash to the Clyde, but there are already concerns that

:02:48. > :02:51.delays to that programme could put jobs at risk.

:02:52. > :02:55.Proof that defence is important to Scotland, and also that Scotland

:02:56. > :03:07.The new chair of the troubled Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry says

:09:11. > :09:14.Now a family of white squirrels has moved into a garden in Edinburgh,

:09:30. > :09:33.So the chances of seeing this, two white squirrels are even rarer.

:09:34. > :09:36.This is a family of at least four that have made a corner

:09:37. > :09:44.The guys working here said that there were

:09:45. > :09:46.white squirrels but we were reluctant to believe them

:09:47. > :09:54.My friends wouldn't believe it either until they saw them.

:09:55. > :09:59.This is one of the white squirrels. There are three.

:10:02. > :10:19.We've become so used to them that we take it for granted.

:10:20. > :10:21.Every day, about 8:30am in the morning they come.

:10:22. > :10:28.Ronnie had travelled around the North of Scotland

:10:29. > :10:31.in search of a white squirrel but never saw one.

:10:32. > :10:40.We travelled up to northern Scotland one Sunday to see them

:10:41. > :10:43.but we never saw them and now we see them every day.

:10:44. > :10:46.Conservationists say it is very rare to see even one white squirrel.

:10:47. > :11:00.That makes them easy targets for predators.

:11:01. > :11:04.But the Edinburgh white squirrels seem to be surviving fine.

:11:05. > :11:05.With neighbours looking out for them, hopefully,
