:00:55. > :00:58.that is out there we intend to find it and will search every area where

:00:59. > :01:01.we could recover any potential evidence.

:01:02. > :01:03.Whoever set the fire was targeting this house.

:01:18. > :01:20.had a grudge or there was any fallout with the family members and

:02:27. > :02:28.the Scottish Government is urging people to register their views about

:02:54. > :02:55.is seeking your opinions on a fresh Referendum Bill

:02:56. > :03:00.It is broadly similar to last time around, and

:03:01. > :03:01.they need the permission of Westminster.

:03:02. > :03:04.So do you think there should be another vote?

:03:05. > :03:07.I do not think so, we had the referendum.

:03:08. > :03:23.No, because I think it is causing enough issues already.

:03:24. > :03:26.The decision has already been made, maybe wait

:03:27. > :03:30.another generation for a younger generation to decide.

:03:31. > :03:34.Do you think Brexit changes anything?

:03:35. > :03:39.I do not have the answer for that, unfortunately.

:03:40. > :03:42.Brexit is seen as a threat to the Scottish economy and

:03:43. > :03:47.so to protect their place in Europe another referendum may be required,

:03:48. > :03:52.Nicola Sturgeon faces a tough decision, when to call the vote.

:03:53. > :03:55.We are trying to get an agreement on what should happen

:03:56. > :04:00.If they are rejected and we cannot find

:04:01. > :04:03.agreement then it will be a need to re-consult people

:04:04. > :04:10.With those accusations that Theresa May is adrift in

:04:11. > :04:14.Brussels, the Conservatives hit back and said that the people of Scotland

:04:15. > :04:17.voted decisively against independence in 2014.

:04:18. > :04:21.But the UK Government Brexit plans are not decisive.

:04:22. > :04:25.At least according to the former ambassador to the EU who

:04:26. > :04:33.I think the government is rightly taking its time,

:04:34. > :04:40.Brexit is complex and unravelling more than 40 years of

:04:41. > :04:44.legal and economic integration between the UK and the rest of

:04:45. > :04:46.continental Europe is not going to happen overnight

:05:16. > :05:18.of the lack of staff with specialist skills.

:05:19. > :05:21.Earlier, I asked our reporter Steven Duff what sort of operations

:05:22. > :05:39.In operations that are being cancelled, it is collective surgery.

:05:40. > :05:47.People getting PEPs or knees replaced or dealing with cataracts.

:05:48. > :05:52.In the last hour or two, the NHS has said that more than 180 have been

:05:53. > :06:03.cancelled since the end of November. To put that in context, every year

:06:04. > :06:08.NHS Grampian carries out 130,000 operations. But they do not have

:06:09. > :06:12.enough nurses to carry out the operations. Every cancellation has

:06:13. > :06:15.an impact on an individual patient and one patient group says that

:06:16. > :06:22.elderly patients are being most affected.

:06:23. > :06:29.The acute care will be the last to suffer but it is a symptom of

:06:30. > :06:33.underlying problems in the retention and recruitment of staff for

:06:34. > :06:38.whatever reasons and it is something that needs to be addressed not only

:06:39. > :06:44.within Grampian but in Scotland as a whole.

:06:45. > :06:49.NHS Grampian has apologised to anybody who had a cancelled

:06:50. > :06:53.operation but say this is not about funding, it is about being able to

:07:02. > :07:03.in Auld Coal Grove around four o'clock in the afternoon

:07:04. > :07:09.The 36-year-old man in custody is due to appear tomorrow

:07:10. > :07:15.A man has gone on trial accused of raping and murdering

:07:23. > :07:25.The 26-year-old is also accused of attempting to defeat

:07:26. > :07:32.Tennis now and Andy Murray has just reached the quarter-finals

:07:33. > :07:36.of the Qatar Open, after beating Gerald Melzer two sets to love.

:07:37. > :07:40.The win over the Austrian means a career-best run of 26 victories

:07:41. > :07:43.in a row in competitive matches for Murray.

:07:44. > :07:49.Tomorrow, he'll play for a place in the semi-finals,

:07:50. > :07:50.Let's get the weather outlook for tonight

:07:51. > :08:09.It was a pretty good day for much of Scotland and tranquil. I like this

:08:10. > :08:13.picture of a noble stag taking a look at the view. High pressure is

:08:14. > :08:17.over us tonight, generating dry weather over most of the UK with the

:08:18. > :08:22.widespread frost setting and for many. Temperatures below freezing

:08:23. > :08:27.for many and a good few degrees below in parts of rural Scotland. He

:08:28. > :08:38.dry start tomorrow with that possibility of a few freezing fog

:08:39. > :08:40.patches in the Glens. A wee bit higher on the West Coast but

:08:41. > :08:47.freezing temperatures for most of us. Good sunny spells across the

:08:48. > :08:54.board from first light. Staying that way for a good part of the day. A

:08:55. > :08:58.good winter 's day. We will see some rain spilling into the high West

:08:59. > :09:08.through the afternoon. The rest of the UK is under that influence and

:09:09. > :09:21.temperatures will struggle in England. Similar values for Scotland

:09:22. > :09:26.as well. As far as the rest of the afternoon is concerned, it is dry.

:09:27. > :09:30.Chloe thickens up in the evening and a band of rain moves across the

:09:31. > :09:36.western and far north of the country and into the northern isles,

:09:37. > :09:40.although the east will stay dry. Weather fronts bringing rain on

:09:41. > :09:48.Friday but then on Saturday more rain will return. A wet start on

:09:49. > :09:52.Friday for a western areas. The rain eventually clears away so it will be

:09:53. > :09:54.an approving day and it will be milder.

:09:55. > :09:58.Our next update is during Breakfast at 6:25am tomorrow morning.

:09:59. > :10:09.But, from everyone on the late team, goodnight.

:10:10. > :10:12.This is the most dangerous, the most despicable human being
