:03:58. > :04:01.Earlier this month, the two patient representatives
:04:02. > :04:02.on the group resigned, claiming the final report
:04:03. > :04:16.The ball is in their court to save this review.
:04:17. > :04:19.Today, as the final report was published, the tenacity
:04:20. > :04:26.The report was independent of government, the detail of how it is
:04:27. > :04:30.laid out, I cannot answer for you, but what
:04:31. > :04:34.I will say is, due to the tireless campaigning
:04:35. > :04:37.of the women who had been injured, we have a review that gives us
:04:38. > :04:40.all of the evidence as to the safety of the use of mesh for incontinence
:04:41. > :04:54.The former Health Secretary, who called for the review,
:04:55. > :04:56.originally, said the whole process should be investigated.
:04:57. > :04:58.As long as there are outstanding allegations
:04:59. > :05:01.about tampering of evidence and report, the report has no
:05:02. > :05:03.credibility, until these allegations are proven true or untrue.
:05:04. > :05:05.All strands of the investigation into whether
:05:06. > :05:07.this report was tampered with, whether the evidence was tampered
:05:08. > :05:14.with and, if that is the case, heads should roll.
:05:15. > :05:16.And after her report, Lucy Adams spoke further about
:05:17. > :05:27.the response to the allegations, as well as their implications.
:05:28. > :05:28.The allegations are that the report was diluted.
:05:29. > :05:31.The allegations from the three members of the expert group
:05:32. > :05:34.who say an entire chapter was removed.
:05:35. > :05:39.Today's main report does not contain that chapter,
:05:40. > :05:41.For the campaigners for those women who say they have been
:05:42. > :05:43.disabled by this surgery, they say this report
:05:44. > :05:50.For the hundreds of women who say they have been disabled, this does
:05:51. > :05:56.This was meant to be the final word on mesh implants for the Scottish
:05:57. > :05:58.government and for the women who have undergone this procedure.
:05:59. > :06:00.But with these sorts of allegations hanging over it,
:06:01. > :06:07.The oil exploration firm Hurricane has made what has being described
:06:08. > :06:09.as the "largest undeveloped discovery" of oil in UK waters.
