:00:07. > :00:12.A memorial service has been held in Glasgow to mark the 15th

:00:13. > :00:14.anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the USA.

:00:15. > :00:17.The gathering was organised by the Church of Scotland

:00:18. > :00:20.and featured both Christians and Muslims.

:00:21. > :00:40.A familiar hymn, cherished on both sides of the Atlantic. The links

:00:41. > :00:47.between this Glasgow Paris -- parish and the events of 15 years ago run

:00:48. > :00:52.deep. In the aftermath of the tragedy, the Reverend Neil Galbraith

:00:53. > :00:57.founded in aid charity which sent a disaster relief team to New York. We

:00:58. > :01:02.went across as a team and worked with New York, the family unit, we

:01:03. > :01:05.brought across 70 families to Scotland for holidays and we

:01:06. > :01:15.continued to work and advise them on family partnerships. A message of

:01:16. > :01:19.solidarity from the Muslim community, invited to this service

:01:20. > :01:25.as equal partners, to pay their respects and to make an important

:01:26. > :01:31.point. The Muslims have got a bad name for being terrorists, they are

:01:32. > :01:36.not doing it in my name or in the name of Islam so it is important for

:01:37. > :01:44.us to take this opportunity to be involved today. The theme of unity

:01:45. > :01:48.is also reflected in a new charity 's signal -- single, highlighting

:01:49. > :01:51.the bonds between the pipes and drums of the Scottish buyers service

:01:52. > :01:56.and the Fire Department of New York. These guys have played at every

:01:57. > :01:59.single funeral, so they played at 343 funerals, and they continue to

:02:00. > :02:06.play at funerals because firefighters are still dying from

:02:07. > :02:12.diseases that they caught in the pit so we want to play for them. It is

:02:13. > :02:16.15 years since 9/11 but for many Scots the solidarity with their

:02:17. > :02:21.American cousins is stronger than ever.

:02:22. > :02:23.The son of the former loyalist paramilitary leader

:02:24. > :02:25.Johnny Adair has been found dead in South Ayrshire.

:02:26. > :02:27.Jonathan Adair Junior had recently been released from prison.

:02:28. > :02:29.Police were called to reports of a body

:02:30. > :02:33.The death is being treated as unexplained.

:02:34. > :02:36.A man's been left scarred for life in an

:02:37. > :02:37.apparently unprovoked attack in a Glasgow pub.

:02:38. > :02:40.The 33-year-old was assaulted in the Rosevale Tavern in Partick

:02:41. > :02:42.around six o'clock last night, as he played a fruit machine.

:02:43. > :02:46.His attacker was seen running towards the city centre.

:02:47. > :02:49.Tennis, and Jamie Murray has been reflecting on his victory

:02:50. > :02:51.in the US Men's doubles, calling it a massive achievement.

:02:52. > :02:53.The Scot, and his Brazilian partner Bruno Soares,

:02:54. > :02:56.secured their second Grand Slam tournament of the year.

:02:57. > :02:58.They'd already won at the Australian Open.

:02:59. > :03:04.Kheredine Idessane was in New York to see last night's triumph.

:03:05. > :03:11.There was a familiar fight inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium yesterday.

:03:12. > :03:16.Jamie Murray, lifting a grand slam doubles title, the second time it

:03:17. > :03:20.has happened this year. He was champion in Australia in January

:03:21. > :03:23.with his partner, Bruno Soares, and now they are the US Open doubles

:03:24. > :03:31.champions us well. A terrific straight sets wind -- win over Pablo

:03:32. > :03:35.Carreno Busta and Guillermo Garcia-Lope, 6-2, 6-3, the outcome

:03:36. > :03:42.never really in doubt and Jamie Murray served out for the title. Two

:03:43. > :03:46.grand slams in a single year. It means so much. For us these are the

:03:47. > :03:52.biggest tournaments and the ones we want to win at the start of the year

:03:53. > :03:57.and to have two in the bag is, yes, it's massive. Scotland is his next

:03:58. > :04:02.destination. Both he and the little brother, Andy, are part of the

:04:03. > :04:06.British Davis Cup team who will play a semifinal against Argentina at the

:04:07. > :04:10.Emirates Arena in Glasgow on Friday. Scottish cyclist Neil Fachie has won

:04:11. > :04:13.a silver medal with pilot Pete Mitchell in the Tandem B 1000m

:04:14. > :04:15.Time Trial. Meanwhile there was another silver

:04:16. > :04:22.medal in para-triathlon's PT5 for Alison Patrick from Dunfermline,

:04:23. > :04:24.alongside her guide If you've a sweet tooth, Stirling's

:04:25. > :04:33.the place to be this evening. 10,000 slices of cake are on offer,

:04:34. > :04:36.after a Cake Fest there today. Teams of amateur and

:04:37. > :04:38.professional bakers from all across Scotland baked

:04:39. > :04:41.versions of some of the country's best loved buildings,

:04:42. > :04:43.to create a giant edible cake map. It's part of the year-long

:04:44. > :04:47.Festival of Architecture. Let's find out what's

:04:48. > :04:50.happening with the weather for the rest of this evening,

:04:51. > :04:52.and the start of the week. Judith can tell us

:04:53. > :05:00.how it's looking. Good evening. Winds are starting to

:05:01. > :05:06.strengthen. You can see an area of low pressure which indicates strong

:05:07. > :05:11.winds and gales across the west coast and the severe gale force

:05:12. > :05:15.category for a time. There is rain coming into the West in the next few

:05:16. > :05:19.days and that is already affecting western Scotland, particularly the

:05:20. > :05:27.Western Isles, where it will stay up for the next for the 24-hour is. It

:05:28. > :05:32.will be patchy across the mainland. Temperatures are very much on the

:05:33. > :05:37.mild side. A mild start to tomorrow with early brightness and dry across

:05:38. > :05:42.eastern Scotland. We see the rain in the West gathering force across the

:05:43. > :05:46.north-west Highlands and thinking to Argyll and the Glasgow area. It will

:05:47. > :05:50.come into the Western Isles eventually and the Northern Ireland

:05:51. > :05:52.will have sunny spells as well. The temperatures will be warm. That's

:05:53. > :05:54.your forecast. And that's all from

:05:55. > :05:55.Reporting Scotland for now. We're back with more,

:05:56. > :05:58.just after the ten o'clock news. Until then, from everyone

:05:59. > :06:01.on the team here in Glasgow,
