:00:00. > :00:00.Now on BBC1, it's time for the news where you are.

:00:07. > :00:10.Kezia Dugdale has told the BBC she thinks Jeremy Corbyn can

:00:11. > :00:13.lead the Labour Party to the general election victory.

:00:14. > :00:16.She's calling for the party to reunite after Mr Corbyn

:00:17. > :00:19.was re-elected with more than 60% of the vote, beating

:00:20. > :00:24.Our political correspondent Nick Eardley is at the party's

:00:25. > :00:40.And back in Labour leadership race, last month, she said Jeremy Corbyn

:00:41. > :00:44.could not attract a wide enough section of society to win a general

:00:45. > :00:48.election. But that is the situation the party is now facing up to.

:00:49. > :00:52.Jeremy Corbyn won this leadership election with an even bigger mandate

:00:53. > :00:58.than he had last year. Kizzire Dugdale said it is now time for the

:00:59. > :01:01.party to unite and take the fight to their political opponents. She wants

:01:02. > :01:03.Mr Corbyn to work hard to find common cause with his parliamentary

:01:04. > :01:05.colleagues, and for his parliamentary colleagues to work

:01:06. > :01:10.with him. After the announcement this morning, I spoke to Kezia

:01:11. > :01:14.Dugdale about whether she still bore Jeremy Corbyn was unelectable.

:01:15. > :01:18.I have said I want to unite the party, to Leave the past behind us.

:01:19. > :01:21.I intend to work with my colleagues across the labour movement to focus

:01:22. > :01:24.on our values. We have to stop fighting with ourselves to take on

:01:25. > :01:26.the Tories. Can Jeremy Corbyn win a general

:01:27. > :01:31.election? I believe that a united Labour

:01:32. > :01:34.Party, to him out of values and principles, can win a general

:01:35. > :01:36.election, and and focus on. Including if was led by Jeremy

:01:37. > :01:39.Corbyn? Of course, we're going to unite as a

:01:40. > :01:44.party to do just that. Corbyn's supporters are blighted.

:01:45. > :01:47.His most prominent supporter in Scotland, Neil Findlay, says he

:01:48. > :01:52.thinks the contest bodes well for the future of the party, and that he

:01:53. > :01:56.too thinks Mr Corbyn can lead Labour to a UK general election victory.

:01:57. > :02:01.The conference itself gets underway in this hall tomorrow. The party

:02:02. > :02:06.will start that process of trying to heal the wounds of the leadership

:02:07. > :02:07.election contest, persuading the country it is fit for power.

:02:08. > :02:10.Meanwhile a group Scottish Jeremy Corbyn supporters gathered at a pub

:02:11. > :02:12.in Glasgow to watch the declaration of the result.

:02:13. > :02:14.They hailed his increased mandate as "fantastic news",

:02:15. > :02:17.and called on the party's MPs - and the leadership in Scotland -

:02:18. > :02:25.to respect the decision of Labour members and work with Mr Corbyn.

:02:26. > :02:34.It would have been better if she had stepped aside from this contest, but

:02:35. > :02:38.what matters is what she does now. She needs to accept this result, and

:02:39. > :02:39.she needs to show and acknowledge that she accepts the will of the

:02:40. > :02:43.she needs to show and acknowledge party members, and gets behind

:02:44. > :02:45.Jeremy Corbyn, and the agenda that is clearly the settled will of the

:03:11. > :03:28.will make an appeal on BBC's We just can't put our finger on the

:03:29. > :03:30.reason for it happening. There seems to be no apparent reason. Somebody

:03:31. > :03:31.out there knows what happened. Football now, and there were four

:03:32. > :03:33.matches in the Premiership. Celtic extended their lead over

:03:34. > :03:36.second-placed Hearts with a big In Rugby's Pro-12 League,
