:00:19. > :00:22.It comes at the start of a week long campaign to highlight

:00:23. > :00:24.prejudice against disability, race, religion and

:00:33. > :00:34.and as transgender meant she was regularly the target of abuse.

:00:42. > :00:44.to the police, who took action, but she says many LGBTQI people

:00:45. > :00:48.A survey by the equality network showed more than 70% of those

:00:49. > :00:53.who experience hate crime have not reported it to the police.

:00:54. > :00:55.If something happens to them that they

:00:56. > :00:57.feel is really racist or homophobic or transphobic or bi-phobic,

:00:58. > :01:03.they felt comfortable going and reporting it.

:01:28. > :01:29.They say the introduction of specially trained officers is one

:01:30. > :01:32.The Force's Chief Constable says tackling all

:01:33. > :01:35.types of hate crime is an absolute priority, but the police acknowledge

:01:36. > :01:37.that under-reporting is an issue that is far worse

:01:38. > :01:41.It will allow us to provide more support to our front line officers

:01:42. > :01:44.and encounter hate crime issues and also demonstrates our commitment

:01:45. > :01:45.to trying to support tolerance in society.

:01:46. > :01:47.The move comes after an independent review said

:01:48. > :01:49.everybody in society had to play a part

:01:50. > :02:13.Police are investigating an attempted murder

:02:14. > :02:14.in North Ayrshire, which left two men injured,

:02:15. > :02:21.They were found seriously hurt in Stevenston yesterday afternoon.

:02:22. > :02:23.The convenor of the Crofting Commission has reiterated

:02:24. > :02:26.that he won't stand down, over a heated public dispute

:02:27. > :02:28.over common grazings, unless he's forced to by

:02:29. > :02:31.Last month, the board of crofting's regulatory body

:02:32. > :02:33.apologised for its handling of a dispute with crofters

:02:34. > :02:36.Colin Kennedy, who walked out of a Commissioner's meeting

:02:37. > :02:38.last week, told BBC Scotland's Sunday Politics Scotland

:02:39. > :02:53.As matters stand, I believe the commissioners have acted

:02:54. > :02:55.within the law at all times and until such times

:02:56. > :02:58.as we have legal advice to the contrary, I will maintain

:02:59. > :03:06.The Scottish Government says they have the power to get

:03:07. > :03:10.involved, if they do get involved and say you had to go, will you

:03:11. > :03:18.Police Scotland is warning that action could be taken against people

:03:19. > :03:24.if they seek to cause distress or potential harm.

:03:25. > :03:26.The force says it's received a number of reports,

:03:27. > :03:31.although they haven't significantly involved threats or violence.
