:00:00. > :00:10.The police have issued a drugs warning after the death

:00:11. > :00:14.The force said Shellie Callaghan may have taken ecstacy pills.

:00:15. > :00:30.The teenager fell ill at a house party in an area known as the Bryans

:00:31. > :00:33.in the former mining town of Newtongrange. She died in Edinburgh

:00:34. > :00:38.Royal Infirmary amid fears that the youngster may have had access to

:00:39. > :00:41.ecstasy type tablets, the police have issued a drugs warning. They

:00:42. > :00:47.are urging anyone who has taken these pills, known as red Bugatti

:00:48. > :00:52.Veyron and purple Ninja Turtle to seek immediate medical attention.

:00:53. > :00:57.I'm really worried because they can put them up so easily for almost

:00:58. > :01:01.nothing -- pick them up. They don't realise how dangerous they are. You

:01:02. > :01:07.don't to happen to happen to someone you know. When it does, it shocks

:01:08. > :01:11.everyone. Tributes have been paid to the 16-year-old who has been named

:01:12. > :01:15.locally as Shellie Callaghan, and parents in this quiet community have

:01:16. > :01:19.expressed concern about how youngsters her age are being

:01:20. > :01:23.supplied with such drugs. I think it's quite scary that drugs are

:01:24. > :01:28.available in such a small area. I don't know where they are getting

:01:29. > :01:34.them from, I just think it's quite sad. I think kids do just have that

:01:35. > :01:40.nothing will happen to me, I'm invincible, and maybe this will show

:01:41. > :01:43.the matter, no, you're not. As news of the teenager's death sings in

:01:44. > :01:47.here, police Scotland said the message is clear. There are no safe

:01:48. > :01:49.illegal drugs and no safe way to take them.

:01:50. > :01:51.A 41-year-old man has died after being stabbed

:01:52. > :01:57.The attack happened yesterday evening around 6.10.

:01:58. > :02:01.Police say they're following a positive line of inquiry.

:02:02. > :02:04.The First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said she believes a deal

:02:05. > :02:06.could be reached which would allow Scotland to retain access

:02:07. > :02:12.She said the UK leaving the EU need not entail Scotland being excluded

:02:13. > :02:26.There is a need to be creative and innovative to try to square the

:02:27. > :02:30.circle. Scotland voted overwhelmingly to stay in the EU and

:02:31. > :02:32.if our voices to count for something, then surely there must be

:02:33. > :02:37.a willingness to look at different options. We certainly require new

:02:38. > :02:40.powers to be devolved to the Scottish Parliament and that is

:02:41. > :02:44.something I think has to be on the table. At this moment, I see it's

:02:45. > :02:49.impossible, for example, that Scotland could remain within the EU

:02:50. > :02:53.whilst the rest of the UK left. I think it would be difficult to see

:02:54. > :02:57.how that could be achieved. I have said before, we will listen to any

:02:58. > :03:00.proposals that the Scottish Government bring forward in relation

:03:01. > :03:03.to achieving the best interests of Scotland, but I am still absolutely

:03:04. > :03:06.convinced that Scotland's best interests are as part of the UK.

:03:07. > :03:08.Andy Murray has won the Shanghai Masters and edged

:03:09. > :03:10.closer to Novak Djokovic in the world rankings.

:03:11. > :03:12.He beat Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets.

:03:13. > :03:15.The Spaniard beat world number one Djokovic in the semi-finals,

:03:16. > :03:19.but couldn't stop Murray getting his sixth title of the year.

:03:20. > :03:21.British astronaut Tim Peake has been in Glasgow this afternoon,

:03:22. > :03:24.giving an audience a first-hand account of his six months

:03:25. > :03:29.Major Peake returned to earth in June, after becoming the first UK

:03:30. > :03:34.Organisers hope his visit will inspire people -

:03:35. > :03:36.especially children - to be interested in science.

:03:37. > :03:54.'S journey into space was watched by children in Aberdeen. Five, four,

:03:55. > :04:03.three... And in Edinburgh. Two, one. Liftoff. He spent six months on the

:04:04. > :04:07.International Space Station, took part in around 250 experiments in

:04:08. > :04:11.the orbiting laboratory, and participated in what was billed as a

:04:12. > :04:15.cosmic classroom, inspiring young people to be enthusiastic about

:04:16. > :04:18.science. I'm delighted that the mission was seen to be so much

:04:19. > :04:23.success in terms of the educational outreach and in terms of helping to

:04:24. > :04:26.inspire our next generation of scientists and engineers. So how do

:04:27. > :04:31.the children who turned out to meeting today in Glasgow get a job

:04:32. > :04:43.as an astronaut? Theirs, they need to work out what they want to do

:04:44. > :04:45.before they go to space. That is the most important thing. Work out what

:04:46. > :04:48.it is that drives you, be passionate about it, be good at it and you will

:04:49. > :04:50.have the right qualifications and criteria for becoming an astronaut.

:04:51. > :04:51.Who knows what sparks of inspiration were ignited.

:04:52. > :04:53.Let's get the weather prospects for this evening

:04:54. > :04:59.and the start of the week, and Kawser is at the map.

:05:00. > :05:04.Good evening. Many have seen some outbreaks of rain today, but

:05:05. > :05:09.brightening up quite nicely across the South already in this lovely

:05:10. > :05:12.picture sent in from one of our Weather Watchers in Dumfries and

:05:13. > :05:16.Galloway. During the evening, some bright spells, but also some

:05:17. > :05:19.showers. It is quite breezy out there, those showers becoming more

:05:20. > :05:24.frequent across the West. Mono -- one may be heavy enough for hail or

:05:25. > :05:28.thunder. Clear spells for the foreigner these and temperatures

:05:29. > :05:31.around eight or 9 degrees. Tomorrow, showers still with us, concentrated

:05:32. > :05:35.across western areas. The best of bright spells along the east coast.

:05:36. > :05:40.Still breezy out there and temperatures 12 or 13 degrees.

:05:41. > :05:43.Tuesday, a similar theme. Showers merging into longer spells of rain

:05:44. > :05:48.at times further to the west, the best of any brightness will be

:05:49. > :05:50.across the north-east and temperatures 11 or 12 degrees.

:05:51. > :05:53.Our next update is just after the ten o'clock news.

:05:54. > :05:56.Until then, from everyone on the team here in Glasgow, enjoy

:05:57. > :06:14.Good evening. I hope you had a good weekend, you probably saw some

:06:15. > :06:15.sunshine and rain. Typical autumn. A typical autumn picture
