:00:25. > :00:27.with the world famous street party, and a fireworks display at midnight.

:00:34. > :00:40.We are here on Princes Street in Edinburgh, the main Hogmanay

:00:41. > :00:43.celebrations, things are happening, well under way, the gates opened at

:00:44. > :00:50.nine o'clock. Thousands of people streaming in. In fact this is a

:00:51. > :00:56.sell-out, 75,000 revellers all having a great time, as you can see,

:00:57. > :01:00.hear on Princes Street. More than 80 countries around the world will be

:01:01. > :01:05.watching. Bands have been playing, that they crescendo is at midnight

:01:06. > :01:11.with a gigantic firework display from Edinburgh Castle. The weather

:01:12. > :01:12.is looking good, people in good spirits. I think we're looking at a

:01:13. > :01:14.pretty good night ahead. Andy Murray has been knighted

:01:15. > :01:16.in the New Year's Honours list, after an extraordinary

:01:17. > :01:18.year of success. Other sports stars were recognised,

:01:19. > :01:20.along with Scots from academia, the world of business and charity

:01:21. > :01:34.workers. This sounds strange, obviously. Big

:01:35. > :01:38.honour. Recognition for my results over the last few years. I'm more

:01:39. > :01:44.happy being known as Andy, fine by me. In his hometown of Dunblane, the

:01:45. > :01:48.honour is seen as a fitting tribute for the young man who has never

:01:49. > :01:51.forgotten his roots. I would put him up there with the greatest, what he

:01:52. > :01:59.has achieved over the last couple of years. He will go down as an

:02:00. > :02:03.all-time great British sportsmen. Fantastic he deserves every bit of

:02:04. > :02:07.it. The latest, great guy from Dunblane. The whole family do so

:02:08. > :02:11.much for us. This is icing on the cake, as far as his career is

:02:12. > :02:20.concerned. Sir Andy Murray, brilliant, fantastic news. There is

:02:21. > :02:22.an MBE for Gordon Reid for services to wheelchair tennis. Katherine

:02:23. > :02:27.Grainger, the first woman to win five medals at five games becomes a

:02:28. > :02:31.dame for services to Reading and charity. This year feels like not

:02:32. > :02:36.just a stepping stone, and amazing springboard into what comes next.

:02:37. > :02:40.Having a title to my name, I feel a sense of responsibility, I need to

:02:41. > :02:45.go and do something, make another big step, have more impact on a

:04:21. > :04:24.south. Chiellini. Further north, a rash of showers, some of those

:04:25. > :04:32.wintry, some sleet and low levels of snow. Down to around 200 metres. A

:04:33. > :04:37.cold and bitter feel. A Met Office yellow warning, ice warning across

:04:38. > :04:41.north-western parts tonight. Icy stretches, especially on untreated
