:00:08. > :00:10.The family of the man convicted of the Lockerbie bombing

:00:11. > :00:14.are stepping up their campaign to have his conviction appealed.

:00:15. > :00:16.They want the organisation, which looks into possible

:00:17. > :00:19.miscarriages of justice, to look again at Abdelbaset

:00:20. > :00:38.Abdelbaset al-Megrahi was the only person ever convicted of the bombing

:00:39. > :00:43.of Pan Am flight 103, the UK's worst terrorist atrocity. He lost an

:00:44. > :00:46.appeal, but in 2009, eight years after being jailed for life in

:00:47. > :00:50.Scotland, he dropped it, and at the same time he was released from

:00:51. > :00:53.prison on compassionate grounds because he was terminally ill. Now,

:00:54. > :00:56.prison on compassionate grounds almost five years after his death in

:00:57. > :01:01.Libya, his family still had a dossier to the Scottish criminal

:01:02. > :01:04.Case review commission which they say casts doubt on his conviction.

:01:05. > :01:08.They are asking the commission to review the files and decide whether

:01:09. > :01:13.to refer Abdelbaset al-Megrahi's case to the court. Melo there have

:01:14. > :01:22.been considerable doubt over this conviction. This is the only place

:01:23. > :01:24.there can be any finality. They will decide what will happen in this

:01:25. > :01:28.case. How an officer says it decide what will happen in this

:01:29. > :01:33.fear scrutiny from the commission has says it stands ready to

:01:34. > :01:36.vigorously defend his conviction. Meanwhile his family expect the next

:01:37. > :01:40.part of its campaign to get under way when it had its files to the

:01:41. > :01:43.Scottish criminal cases review commission any next fortnight.

:01:44. > :01:45.Celtic have beaten Rangers 2-0 in the Scottish Cup

:01:46. > :01:47.to set up a final against Aberdeen and the chance to

:01:48. > :01:53.Celtic will face the Dons back at Hampden next month.

:01:54. > :02:00.Our senior football reporter Chris McLaughlin was there for us.

:02:01. > :02:15.The old film Derby, deafening noise, check. Lots of colour, check. Some

:02:16. > :02:22.feisty early tackles, indeed. But rarely are these matches so one

:02:23. > :02:28.sided. After 15 minutes of total domination, to MacGregor, boom.

:02:29. > :02:33.Forging him flat-footed, hands up if you saw it coming. Rangers change

:02:34. > :02:37.things at the break, but they just could not live with their rivals.

:02:38. > :02:38.things at the break, but they just Griffiths sparring one over that

:02:39. > :02:43.actually looks like ending one way. Griffiths sparring one over that

:02:44. > :02:52.When Sinclair smashed home from the spot, Hampden rocked and rolled. The

:02:53. > :02:57.men in below had chances but it was always this kind of a day. At the

:02:58. > :03:01.end, the new Rangers manager looked relieved it was over. Consoled by a

:03:02. > :03:06.man with his eyes on an even bigger prize. You are now tantalising close

:03:07. > :03:12.to treble, can you allow yourself to discuss what that would mean to you

:03:13. > :03:21.and this club? Melo only have to, if we do it. It was a target, we know

:03:22. > :03:24.that we won, in way from history, this season. It has been a

:03:25. > :03:29.historical season. But we still have the few games to play. Goes back a

:03:30. > :03:33.season to see out, the tag of invincible is the target. Celtic

:03:34. > :03:36.under Rogers March one. At the end of a week

:03:37. > :03:38.when the Prime Minister announced a General Election, Scotland's

:03:39. > :03:39.politcal parties have Brexit and child tax credits have

:03:40. > :03:57.domiated the debate. The so-called rape clause has been

:03:58. > :04:01.dogging the Conservatives. The policy refers to the child tax

:04:02. > :04:05.credit, soon to be limited to the first two children, but which can be

:04:06. > :04:09.claimed for subsequent string if they were conceived through rape.

:04:10. > :04:13.And if that can be proved. There has been widespread condemnation, and it

:04:14. > :04:17.seems some Tories are not entirely comfortable. We felt it would be

:04:18. > :04:21.appropriate they should be exemptions, multiple births is one

:04:22. > :04:25.of them, children adopted from care, and any child that was subsequently

:04:26. > :04:30.born from nonconsensual sex. We think that it is right that that

:04:31. > :04:36.benefit is attached, but I set that is an open policy. The SNP had been

:04:37. > :04:40.challenged by the Tories to use devolved powers to mitigate it. We

:04:41. > :04:44.support its repeal at Westminster that is where our focus is, and if

:04:45. > :04:50.ever we wanted a timely reminder that the Tories are the nasty party,

:04:51. > :04:54.and epithet that was coined by Theresa May, the current Prime

:04:55. > :04:58.Minister, it is this heinous rape clause. Looking ahead to the

:04:59. > :05:02.election, the Liberal Democrats say that allowing another referendum on

:05:03. > :05:06.the final Brexit deal will boost their prospects. If Labour don't get

:05:07. > :05:15.what they were, they will be left in Britain. As such they will be

:05:16. > :05:20.carping from the sidelines. This is not a credible opposition. We want

:05:21. > :05:23.to be the new opposition to the Tory Government at Westminster. But

:05:24. > :05:28.Labour insist they are the only real opposition to the Conservatives. If

:05:29. > :05:32.you want a Brexit deal that is in the best interests of Scotland and

:05:33. > :05:36.the United Kingdom, then vote Labour. The Tories want to spend

:05:37. > :05:42.this whole election talking about Brexit or independence. Two

:05:43. > :05:44.elections, endless opportunities for point-scoring.

:05:45. > :05:46.A pilot who was originally from Lochgilphead in Argyll

:05:47. > :05:50.has died in a paragliding accident in New Zealand.

:05:51. > :05:52.26-year-old Ben Letham was on a solo flight

:05:53. > :05:58.near Queenstown when his aircraft came down yesterday.

:05:59. > :06:00.Time now for the weather forecast for this evening

:06:01. > :06:09.and the start of the week, and Judith Ralston is at the map.

:06:10. > :06:13.Mother nature is certainly showing us who is boss of the next few days.

:06:14. > :06:17.She's not quite finished with winter. Here's why. This weather

:06:18. > :06:22.front introducing rain, the hide it the next weather front, a precursor

:06:23. > :06:27.to very cold weather indeed. There is some snow in the forecast as

:06:28. > :06:30.well. We have seen some slow across Shetland today. Our breaks of rain

:06:31. > :06:34.across the north, they will continue to sink southwards, not too much

:06:35. > :06:38.weight on that rain, becoming confined to the far south. It opens

:06:39. > :06:44.the floodgates, wintry showers feeding in across the north and a

:06:45. > :06:49.bitterly cold westerly wind. The Met office had issued a yellow warning

:06:50. > :06:53.for snow for the north Highlands, Grampian area and the snow will

:06:54. > :06:57.cause difficult driving conditions of a higher routes. The velocity

:06:58. > :07:02.first thing. Frequent showers across the north following the snow of,

:07:03. > :07:05.ganging together, pushing in across the north-east, reading in across

:07:06. > :07:08.eastern Scotland, some sunshine the north-east, reading in across

:07:09. > :07:12.behind it. A lot of dry weather was Kintyre and the south-west. It will

:07:13. > :07:17.feel bitterly cold. Across the rest of the UK, fairly quiet, whether

:07:18. > :07:21.front line here across Wales and the southern part of the UK, cloudy

:07:22. > :07:27.ahead, patchy rain, brighter and colder and the temperature affect

:07:28. > :07:30.that might reflect that. Struggling to six or seven Celsius in Scotland.

:07:31. > :07:34.The prince though showers falling off tomorrow night, on Tuesday it

:07:35. > :07:36.will be a northerly, plenty of showers, dryer in the south, cold

:07:37. > :07:39.air sweeping right across the UK. Our next update is just

:07:40. > :07:44.after the Ten O'Clock News. Until then, from everyone

:07:45. > :07:46.on the weekend team here in Glasgow, enjoy the rest of

:07:47. > :07:50.your Sunday evening.
