:00:19. > :00:24.Hello and welcome to our look ahead to what the papers will be bringing

:00:25. > :00:27.us tomorrow. With me, Kate Devlin of the Herald and journalist and author

:00:28. > :00:50.Matthew Green. Tomorrow's front pages.

:00:51. > :00:59.The paper says the BBC has been accused of double standards. It

:01:00. > :01:05.compares the treatment of the DJ to that of Jeremy Clarkson.

:01:06. > :01:10.The Sunday Telegraph carries a survey about patient treatment. They

:01:11. > :01:16.suggest that they are waiting more than one week to see their doctor on

:01:17. > :01:20.more than 50 million occasions. Let's begin with a couple of papers

:01:21. > :01:24.which are featuring this story of the row over funding of free

:01:25. > :01:32.schools. There is a suggestion in the Independent on Sunday that the

:01:33. > :01:36.zealot Michael Gove has diverted ?400 million to his pet project,

:01:37. > :01:43.free schools. Where has he taken this money from? He has taken it

:01:44. > :01:48.from other schools, from places from `` for other schools. There are two

:01:49. > :01:51.parts to this story. One is education and the other is

:01:52. > :01:55.tit`for`tat that is happening between Michael Gove and the Liberal

:01:56. > :01:59.Democrats. The education side is very important because that is one

:02:00. > :02:03.of the charges that has always been put against free schools, that they

:02:04. > :02:06.are kind of in the wrong place and some of them are taking resources

:02:07. > :02:12.from other schools which need to be built and other places. This is an

:02:13. > :02:15.allegation that he has raided a fund that is supposed to help create more

:02:16. > :02:19.school places across the country at a time when we also have a rising

:02:20. > :02:25.birth rate and followed it to his pet projects. Some of the language

:02:26. > :02:30.being used is rather right. Zealotry, obsession.

:02:31. > :02:41.Exactly. It is another embarrassing episode for the coalition when they

:02:42. > :02:45.are at each other's throats for `` insertion area as education. The

:02:46. > :02:50.report in the Observer said that a lot of these free schools are

:02:51. > :02:54.failing. The Ofsted report said 11% are inadequate which is double the

:02:55. > :02:59.number for the state sector. So it is not just a poison for the

:03:00. > :03:04.coalition, it may not be working. But those who support free schools

:03:05. > :03:10.would say 89% are successful and they take a while to bed in. Yes, it

:03:11. > :03:15.may take a while to judge, but it is amazing the vitriol that is flying

:03:16. > :03:21.back and forth. Another piece of strong language,

:03:22. > :03:29.both's lunatic rage to rescue his free school vision. There are other

:03:30. > :03:34.schools beside free school that need to be set up. It doesn't look good

:03:35. > :03:38.to be grabbing money out of a budget from basic education and switching

:03:39. > :03:42.it over to fund your pet project. It is one thing to have the plan

:03:43. > :03:47.rolling out smoothly and working OK in some areas and not in others, but

:03:48. > :03:51.to be scrabbling around at the last minute is not very reassuring. The

:03:52. > :03:58.other problem is that so far free schools are in very `` are very

:03:59. > :04:03.popular with some parents. He has had political capital and this seems

:04:04. > :04:04.like a direct challenge to that. If he has taking money from other

:04:05. > :04:40.children, notes spending spending restrictions

:04:41. > :04:43.on free schools. But his office says that there will be an expansion of

:04:44. > :04:47.free schools which will lead to an event and of places in total and

:04:48. > :04:52.this budget where the money is coming from will be higher in the

:04:53. > :04:55.next two years. There is also a quote from a spokesman for Michael

:04:56. > :05:00.Gove saying that they suggestion that we are cutting places in an

:05:01. > :05:05.area of need to pay for free schools in areas they are not needed, is

:05:06. > :05:10.wrong. The money for free schools is not taken from there, that is not

:05:11. > :05:15.true. I do logically, they might not be the kind of places that everybody

:05:16. > :05:20.wants. No. And the problem is that this is coming from a very internal

:05:21. > :05:24.row within the government. This is coming from high`level sources. In

:05:25. > :05:30.the last couple of days, the Liberal Democrats and Michael Gove have gone

:05:31. > :05:33.to war. We had leased e`mails on Friday suggesting that Nick Clegg

:05:34. > :05:38.had pulled a fast one with his pet project which is free school meals.

:05:39. > :05:41.Now we have these claims about Michael Gove's pet projects. We

:05:42. > :05:45.should not be surprised about the timing, it is one year from the

:05:46. > :05:50.general election and people will be jockeying for position.

:05:51. > :05:55.Staying with the Observer, look at what Michelle Obama has been talking

:05:56. > :06:01.about today. Using her husband's address to talk about the abductions

:06:02. > :06:06.of 200 girls in Nigeria about four weeks ago. Saying that they were

:06:07. > :06:09.outraged and heartbroken. And as parents of girls, really rather

:06:10. > :06:14.bereft at the plight of these girls who have been taken by Boko Haram.

:06:15. > :06:19.It is a part of the world that you know quite well, Matthew? Yes, I

:06:20. > :06:24.lived in Nigeria for a couple of beers. What is remarkable is to see

:06:25. > :06:27.this insurgency which has been going on for some years now under the

:06:28. > :06:32.global spotlight in a way that it has not been before. It is easy to

:06:33. > :06:36.remember `` to forget that Boko Haram have killed thousands of

:06:37. > :06:42.people, even early this year, they killed 50 boys in a boys pupil

:06:43. > :06:47.school. That got barely a ripple of attention globally. Suddenly, they

:06:48. > :06:52.are in the spotlight. The name means, Western education is bad. The

:06:53. > :06:59.fact that boys were targeted to, will surprise people. This statistic

:07:00. > :07:07.of how few children are in school in Nigeria, not just girls, but boys as

:07:08. > :07:11.well, has really surprised me. Yes, it is shocking. And part of this is

:07:12. > :07:18.that there has been so much attention in the past couple of

:07:19. > :07:21.days, a spotlight has been thrown on this, but Boko Haram has been

:07:22. > :07:27.committing atrocities for a long time. Lots of people are suggesting

:07:28. > :07:33.that unless a lot more is done to ease the absolute poverty in large

:07:34. > :07:40.parts, this kind of thing will just continue and that they will find

:07:41. > :07:44.people flocking to Boko Haram. Yes. It is a fascinating moment for

:07:45. > :07:50.Nigeria. Only a few weeks ago, it overtook South Africa to be the

:07:51. > :07:55.biggest economy in Africa. But still the struggle to spread that around

:07:56. > :07:59.and to help alleviate poverty. That is the environment in which Boko

:08:00. > :08:03.Haram is thriving. And huge pressure on the Nigerian government which in

:08:04. > :08:07.the first few weeks did virtually nothing. This happened over one

:08:08. > :08:15.month ago. It is only now that this campaign has built momentum. A

:08:16. > :08:19.hat`trick for the Observer, voters cannot name there any P.

:08:20. > :08:28.Shall I be mean and ask you about yours? Why can't we named our MEPs?

:08:29. > :08:34.I think it is because voters are quite smart. We have busy lives. We

:08:35. > :08:37.all know that they are `` that the European Parliament has some very

:08:38. > :08:40.hard`working politicians in it but we also know that there are some

:08:41. > :08:44.people who are on gravy trains and not working in the national

:08:45. > :08:48.interest. Voters pick that up and they are aware of that and they know

:08:49. > :08:52.that the parties put forward people who they maybe would not put forward

:08:53. > :09:00.as an MP. So they wrote for the party and not for the MP. There is a

:09:01. > :09:04.paradox because you kip `` UKIP has been saying we have sold all our

:09:05. > :09:12.power is out to Brussels so people would Da Silva `` so you would think

:09:13. > :09:17.there would be more interest. I'll yes, there is interest, but it is

:09:18. > :09:23.about the parties, not individuals. So there could be a huge number of

:09:24. > :09:27.votes for UKIP. We have seen on the Telegraph a very personal appeal

:09:28. > :09:32.from David Cameron, not to vote for UKIP. I don't invest necessarily

:09:33. > :09:40.because of individual MPs. Let's look at the mail on Sunday. The BBC

:09:41. > :09:45.on the front page. BBC sacks TJ for playing the sun has got his hat on.

:09:46. > :09:50.The presenter did not know that the original version contained a racist

:09:51. > :09:57.work, the N word. This is a man called David Lowe, who is in hot

:09:58. > :10:01.water. David Lowe has worked for 32 years in radio Devon and he has a

:10:02. > :10:08.show where he plays old classic songs. And he played a version of

:10:09. > :10:11.the sun has got its hat on, which contained an offensive racist slur.

:10:12. > :10:15.He said he was horrified when he found this out. And of course lots

:10:16. > :10:23.of friends and colleagues have rallied to support. It does seem

:10:24. > :10:28.like the BBC is being pretty hard. He has basically been forced to

:10:29. > :10:33.resign. Busy, the real problem is that the row in the background of

:10:34. > :10:37.Jeremy Clarkson who has kept his place despite facing similar

:10:38. > :10:42.allegations. The BBC say that they have offered the BBC `` stay below

:10:43. > :10:46.the opportunity to continue presenting his show and we would be

:10:47. > :10:49.happy to have them back on air. We accept that the conversation with

:10:50. > :10:53.David could have been handled better but if he chooses not to continue,

:10:54. > :10:59.we would like to wish you well for the future. So we will see whether

:11:00. > :11:03.David Lowe feels that is enough for him to carry on. But it is the

:11:04. > :11:09.double standard over how this man is being treated compared to Jeremy

:11:10. > :11:13.Clarkson. Absolutely. And it seems as though David Lowe has taken a sea

:11:14. > :11:17.with it as well. He feels very hard done by. He was very contrite when

:11:18. > :11:24.he realised his mistake and admitted it. It does seem like a genuine

:11:25. > :11:28.error. All the stories" from his friends, it does seem like he just

:11:29. > :11:34.didn't know. And he didn't actually say the word, it was in the song he

:11:35. > :11:38.was playing. He has played the song many times and he just didn't

:11:39. > :11:43.realise. It does seem like double standards that he has lost a job and

:11:44. > :11:48.the `` and Jeremy Clarkson has walked away. It does raise the

:11:49. > :11:55.question whether BBC should stop rap songs for being `` drops `` rap

:11:56. > :12:03.songs from being played. Another story, Cameron tells you ``

:12:04. > :12:10.Eurosceptics, trust me I get it. He keeps saying that the parties `` the

:12:11. > :12:16.Tories are the only party with a credible plan. We keep hearing about

:12:17. > :12:21.renegotiating our relationship. I think people are now starting to

:12:22. > :12:25.realise the problem with the 2017 referendum. They thought it was so

:12:26. > :12:29.far away that it could distract people. But every time there is an

:12:30. > :12:36.election, everybody was to know, what have we got from Europe so far?

:12:37. > :12:40.You have to get bits back through negotiation over the next couple of

:12:41. > :12:43.years. It doesn't really seem as if there is much to say. They seem

:12:44. > :12:48.worried that they are going to suffer from it. It has never felt

:12:49. > :12:52.that David Cameron is saying we should be coming out of Europe. It

:12:53. > :12:58.does not seem that that is his belief. We need to be in it, but not

:12:59. > :13:02.on current terms. Exactly. And I feel that there is a huge part of

:13:03. > :13:06.the Conservative Party that will be very worried about leaving Europe

:13:07. > :13:11.and the impact it would have on business in Britain. But he has

:13:12. > :13:14.toward the threat from UKIP. Yes, and it would be very interesting to

:13:15. > :13:19.see what impact the European elections have on the presence of UK

:13:20. > :13:25.in the general election. They have no MPs. It might be leveraged `` it

:13:26. > :13:30.might be difficult to leveraged that international success.

:13:31. > :13:34.Let's stay with the Telegraph for our final story. Millions waiting a

:13:35. > :13:39.week to see AGP. We have heard that many people have to wait several

:13:40. > :13:43.days and are recovering by the time they get an appointment! But this is

:13:44. > :13:50.is an excellent read figure, 50 million occasions that people had to

:13:51. > :13:56.wait more than a week. `` this is an extraordinary figure. The GPA that

:13:57. > :14:01.Jeremy Hunt is going to do something about that. Yes, but if you have a

:14:02. > :14:06.serious injury you are going to get seen. I have spent years living in

:14:07. > :14:12.countries where you will not get AGP and if there is one, he will not be

:14:13. > :14:16.free. I completely disagree with you. We are very bad at diagnosing

:14:17. > :14:23.ourselves so people put things off and they think they have a pain down

:14:24. > :14:27.my left arm, or down my abdomen, and suddenly they rushed to hospitals

:14:28. > :14:31.for emergency heart operations which cost the NHS tens of thousands of

:14:32. > :14:36.pounds. It is much better to be treated and that is why in some

:14:37. > :14:43.ways, to have AGP service in the UK, they are supposed to pick up these

:14:44. > :14:49.things. A friend went down to the GPS users treated perfidy well.

:14:50. > :14:56.Incredulity. `` fitted perfectly well. Kate and Matthew, stay with us

:14:57. > :15:01.and we will be back hopefully just after half past 11 for more of the

:15:02. > :15:05.front pages. It depends on the Eurovision Song

:15:06. > :15:10.Contest. Stay with us. We will have more on the growing global campaign

:15:11. > :15:33.of `` against the kidnapping of more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls. Now

:15:34. > :15:39.it is time for Reporters. Welcome to Reporters. From here in the world's

:15:40. > :15:42.newsroom, we send out correspondent to bring you the best stories from
