:00:00. > :00:13.in three days, forcing thousands from their homes.
:00:14. > :00:18.Hello and welcome to our look ahead to what the papers will be bringing
:00:19. > :00:20.us tomorrow. With me are the broadcaster and campaigner David
:00:21. > :00:26.Akinsanya, and Vincent Moss, political editor of the Sunday
:00:27. > :00:29.Mirror. Good to have you both here tonight. Tomorrow's front pages: The
:00:30. > :00:33.Sunday Times publishes its 'rich list', and says Britain's wealthiest
:00:34. > :00:36.people are getting even wealthier. The Observer reports that MPs are to
:00:37. > :00:39.investigate the outsourcing giant Serco over claims of sexual assault
:00:40. > :00:42.by one of its staff at an immigration detention centre. It has
:00:43. > :00:49.a picture of Arsenal winning the FA Cup.
:00:50. > :00:52.The Mail on Sunday says children as young as nine will receive drugs on
:00:53. > :00:56.the NHS to prepare them for sex`swap surgery.
:00:57. > :00:58.The Independent on Sunday warns that microbeads from exfoliaters and
:00:59. > :01:03.other domestic products are being washed into the sea, causing
:01:04. > :01:06.environmental damage. The Sunday Telegraph has an
:01:07. > :01:09.interview with the new culture secretary Sajid Javid. He tells them
:01:10. > :01:22.that immigrants coming to Britain "must learn to be British". Let's
:01:23. > :01:26.begin, and it is with that interview with the first Asian secretary of
:01:27. > :01:34.state speaking to the Sunday Telegraph. Though to be British, he
:01:35. > :01:41.says. Sajid Javid on how immigrants can find work, and respect life
:01:42. > :01:46.here. What I find interesting is he can say this, and lots of
:01:47. > :01:52.politicians should and could have said this in the past, but because
:01:53. > :01:55.he is Asian, he can say yet. He says he is a first generation and that
:01:56. > :01:58.his parents were immigrants. A lot of people I know who have come from
:01:59. > :02:04.immigrant backgrounds feel the same. Often people who are
:02:05. > :02:10.immigrants themselves feel really strongly about immigration, don't
:02:11. > :02:13.they? I have friends who I'm surprised not joining some of these
:02:14. > :02:17.right wing parties. It is all well to say some of this, but I think
:02:18. > :02:21.about history. I do consider myself to be British. How we went around
:02:22. > :02:25.the world and make people speak our language. I know lots of people who
:02:26. > :02:28.live in Spain who don't speak Spanish. I know people who have
:02:29. > :02:32.houses in the South of France who don't speak French. Me personally, I
:02:33. > :02:38.couldn't live in a country if I didn't speak the language, because I
:02:39. > :02:42.talk a lot. Thankfully, you are here tonight doing just that. Let's talk
:02:43. > :02:47.about the politics behind this. Immigration is going to be a huge
:02:48. > :02:50.issue with the European elections just next Thursday. As we've seen,
:02:51. > :02:57.you keep making `` making great strides. Many people feel the other
:02:58. > :03:02.party's are not addressing the concerns of immigration. White paper
:03:03. > :03:06.as a poll showing you keep way ahead of the other parties, and they will
:03:07. > :03:10.do well in the European elections. The Conservatives are suffering
:03:11. > :03:15.because people are defecting to UKIP and Nigel Farage. Sajid Javid is
:03:16. > :03:21.spelling out what is a tough message, but it is powerful coming
:03:22. > :03:25.from him, the sort of Pakistani son of a bus driver who has done well
:03:26. > :03:30.for himself. He has made millions and done very well, but he makes the
:03:31. > :03:33.point that he has no people who've been in the country for 50 years and
:03:34. > :03:41.cannot still speak English. He says you should notice speak English.
:03:42. > :03:45.Coming from him, that is more palatable coming from him then Nigel
:03:46. > :03:52.Farage David Cameron. Drivers to have a spy in cars. This is tracking
:03:53. > :03:55.technology which will be standard according to this article within the
:03:56. > :03:59.next ten years. If we're not prepared to have it in our car, we
:04:00. > :04:06.will be forced off the road or forced to pay higher insurance
:04:07. > :04:12.premiums. It will tell out insurance companies would at driving habits
:04:13. > :04:15.really are. When you speed or do something wrong, it will be
:04:16. > :04:19.recorded, and careful drivers will get lower premiums and risky drivers
:04:20. > :04:22.will get high premiums. People will get petrified of the idea of their
:04:23. > :04:26.movements being monitored in that way. You lack people object to
:04:27. > :04:30.telephone comedies having the information, but the other
:04:31. > :04:34.interesting thing is that a black box style technology will be fitted
:04:35. > :04:38.as standard to all new cars under EU regulations from October next year.
:04:39. > :04:42.The technology will be in the car already. I do know of some younger
:04:43. > :04:46.drivers who have had these boxes put in their cars by the insurance
:04:47. > :04:51.company in order to get a cheaper deal on the insurance. I want to
:04:52. > :04:57.make a confession. It is a driver's awareness course recently because I
:04:58. > :05:01.sped over a bridge. I did 27 on the 20. On the course, there were lots
:05:02. > :05:04.of people they're angry about the speed cameras and those sorts of
:05:05. > :05:07.things, but one thing I came away with is I drove a lot more carefully
:05:08. > :05:16.and safer since I went on that course. People say they enjoy those
:05:17. > :05:26.courses. Strange people. The Sunday Times, the top 1000 people are worth
:05:27. > :05:28.a record ?519 billion. That is equivalent to a third of the
:05:29. > :05:32.nation's annual gross domestic product. If you are in peak some of
:05:33. > :05:38.these figures that have come out of the annual Rich list that the Sunday
:05:39. > :05:44.Times publishes, it is be like 64 names in the top list have the
:05:45. > :05:50.equivalent wealth of the 30% poorest of the population. When I was
:05:51. > :05:57.younger, I used to be fascinated by this. I used to look and dream and
:05:58. > :06:03.thick wooden it be nice to be rich? ? Think, wouldn't it be nice? It
:06:04. > :06:06.makes me feel a bit angry about the gap between the rich and poor. That
:06:07. > :06:10.is all it does for me. The other thing it does tell you is that a lot
:06:11. > :06:15.of people busier people who've made their own money. It is not inherited
:06:16. > :06:18.wealth. In the past, a lot of the list was filled up with these
:06:19. > :06:22.people. Does that make you less angry? I'm not angry about rich
:06:23. > :06:27.people, I am angry that people who suffer and there are other people
:06:28. > :06:34.who could help to stop I know one woman does a lot of stuff with the
:06:35. > :06:37.money. To somebody like me, you say, how much money do you need to
:06:38. > :06:44.be happy? Bye`mac it is not about that any more. Reading figures like
:06:45. > :06:49.this yet again, the fact that the amount of wealth they hold in such a
:06:50. > :06:56.small number of people is growing so much. Will there be more pressure to
:06:57. > :07:00.tackle this tax wise? It is a great political story. It is just the hard
:07:01. > :07:04.facts in the story, but there is an amazing fact saying be healthiest!
:07:05. > :07:09.Wealthiest boughs and have seen their wealth surge by 15.4% in the
:07:10. > :07:14.last year. This is a time when most ordinary workers are likely to get a
:07:15. > :07:18.2% pay rise. It is astonishingly political story which is reflected,
:07:19. > :07:22.because Labour's message is, and this seems to be borne out by this,
:07:23. > :07:27.it is the ritual are benefiting from this upturn in economy, and the rest
:07:28. > :07:31.of the site. That is fascinating and playing into the narrative over the
:07:32. > :07:40.next year. It was benefiting from the upturn in the up `` economic
:07:41. > :07:44.circumstances? Carney sounds housing alarm. We know a lot of rich people
:07:45. > :07:49.are investing in broad in properties in the south`east, particularly
:07:50. > :07:53.London. This article says the housing market has deep problems and
:07:54. > :07:56.is the biggest risk to Britain's economic recovery. That is coming
:07:57. > :08:00.from the Governor of the Bank of England. It sounds like it could go
:08:01. > :08:04.down. You like I have a friend who plays around with the property
:08:05. > :08:08.market. He has a big portfolio. The only thing he has been talking about
:08:09. > :08:12.is selling and getting rid of as much as he can. He is not the sort
:08:13. > :08:18.of person who will do this without the gig subbing is going on. House
:08:19. > :08:22.prices are crazy. `` thinking something is going on. My generation
:08:23. > :08:29.are having trouble getting mortgages. Subbing has to give. We
:08:30. > :08:35.all need somewhere to live, but I think it has gotten out of control.
:08:36. > :08:38.What will this do with regards to interest rates? He is saying that
:08:39. > :08:44.the Bank of England needs to take some kind of action to take the heat
:08:45. > :08:49.out of this. Weigh the central part in this is that we need more houses.
:08:50. > :08:52.We all know that. That is the only way to start controlling prices. He
:08:53. > :08:56.is sounded alarm in saying it is critically about loan to value and
:08:57. > :09:02.how much we are borrowing against these houses. We don't think, and Mr
:09:03. > :09:08.Carney dozen big reds will go up, but after that, I could rise. The
:09:09. > :09:11.mortgage rules have tightened up now and mortgage companies are being
:09:12. > :09:14.more responsible and making it harder. It is not necessarily a
:09:15. > :09:19.disadvantage, but it is harder to take risky loans out because
:09:20. > :09:23.mortgage companies are being more responsible about what they land.
:09:24. > :09:34.A grim story. The Observer's main story, underneath that picture of
:09:35. > :09:39.Arsenal winning the FA Cup. MPs to probe Serco over sex assault claim.
:09:40. > :09:43.The company that does the private outsourcing, Government work. To be
:09:44. > :09:50.investigated by MPs after it was forced to disclose a report about a
:09:51. > :09:55.claim of sexual reports against one of its staff against a woman at
:09:56. > :10:00.Yarl's Wood detention centre. There has been a legal battle to get it
:10:01. > :10:04.out in the open? Very much so. They have been fighting to get it
:10:05. > :10:08.published. Private companies are taking over public sector services.
:10:09. > :10:11.This is a company that are potentially taking over services in
:10:12. > :10:18.other areas. I know something David feels strongly about. Passionate
:10:19. > :10:21.about this. Michael Gove announced yesterday that child protection
:10:22. > :10:27.services could be run and could be open to companies like Serco. You
:10:28. > :10:31.know, from where I come from, I do a lot of work with young people in
:10:32. > :10:34.care, it's wrong. When you hear stories like this where they are
:10:35. > :10:37.trying to cover`up. That is not to say local authorities haven't
:10:38. > :10:43.covered up abuse in the past. I don't want people profiting out of
:10:44. > :10:48.that. We might return to that story again. A lot to talk about. That is
:10:49. > :10:55.it from the papers this hour. There will be another selection of the
:10:56. > :11:03.front pages at 11.30pm. On BBC News at 11.00pm a report on the latest
:11:04. > :11:28.progress on Boko Haram. Coming up next, it's time for the film review.
