:00:00. > :00:00.head into the weekend. More on the prospects for the weekend where you

:00:00. > :00:20.live on the website. Hello and welcome to our look at

:00:21. > :00:25.what the papers will bring us tomorrow. Michael Booker is the

:00:26. > :00:31.deputy editor at the Daily Express and so Mira Shackle, freelance

:00:32. > :00:36.editor. Let's have a look. The Times reports militants had for the Iraq

:00:37. > :00:42.capital of Baghdad. The Metro leads on the online abuse that the Harry

:00:43. > :00:44.Potter author, J K Rowling, received after making a ?1 million donation

:00:45. > :00:49.to the campaign against Scottish independence. The Mirror shows the

:00:50. > :00:54.pitch on which England will play for the first World Cup match against

:00:55. > :00:57.Italy on Saturday. The Guardian claims passport office staff have

:00:58. > :01:02.been told to relax the rules to help clear the backlog of applications.

:01:03. > :01:08.Passports are the lead of the Daily Mail. The PM claims there is no

:01:09. > :01:13.crisis at the office. Black cab drivers protest eight taxi hailing

:01:14. > :01:19.app, on the front of the Financial Times. The i reports on a record

:01:20. > :01:25.boost to the job market, as figures show the number of people in work

:01:26. > :01:29.has grown by 350,000. The express says walking 6000 steps per day

:01:30. > :01:31.could reduce the pain of arthritis `` the Daily Express. It would

:01:32. > :01:37.increase the chances of not getting the condition. We will begin with

:01:38. > :01:45.the times and the situation in Iraq. Islamic insurgents push

:01:46. > :01:49.Baghdad to the brink. It looks as if the security forces, after billions

:01:50. > :01:54.was pumped into the training of the Iraq army and the police, and

:01:55. > :01:58.allowing the suggestion that it made sense in some people's mind for

:01:59. > :02:05.Western forces to pull out, it seems to have been a waste of money. The

:02:06. > :02:10.fact that the security forces abandoned their post, didn't fight

:02:11. > :02:13.against the militants, a report suggests that 30,000 troops ran away

:02:14. > :02:18.in the face of 800 militants. It undermines the US claim to have

:02:19. > :02:33.created a unified, well`trained, strong Iraq army. It is a dire

:02:34. > :02:36.situation. It demonstrates how long he remained responsible for when you

:02:37. > :02:44.invade a country or take part in an occupation. So many things are set

:02:45. > :02:50.in motion that cannot be predicted. Americans were trying to sort out a

:02:51. > :02:54.military agreement with the Iraqis in 2011 that would have allowed a

:02:55. > :02:58.small contingent of US forces to remain in the country. We couldn't

:02:59. > :03:04.work out the details. Barack Obama had the public saying, get out of

:03:05. > :03:09.there. Nouri Maliki said, we don't want you here anyway and now this

:03:10. > :03:13.could be the result of that impasse. Nouri Maliki himself, David Cameron

:03:14. > :03:16.said that he hasn't acted quick enough. We can see that he is

:03:17. > :03:21.focusing on him being the problem and Iraqis being the problem. There

:03:22. > :03:26.has been 11 years of fighting in the country. You can understand the

:03:27. > :03:31.bloodthirsty mob. People don't want to fight any more. There is talk in

:03:32. > :03:36.one story about how there was a phone call to an oil refinery. They

:03:37. > :03:40.said, lay down your arms or fight to the death. I know what I would do in

:03:41. > :03:45.that situation. I would run a mile as well. You have got to put

:03:46. > :03:53.yourself in their position. This Isis group, it is the speed of this

:03:54. > :03:58.that is apparent, these cities, towns, oil refineries are going

:03:59. > :04:07.down. They have come from Syria. Should we have then got involved in

:04:08. > :04:10.Syria? If we had, would it have stopped this problem or would there

:04:11. > :04:13.be another Al Qaeda affiliate popping up, another head from the

:04:14. > :04:18.hydra that would have done this anyway. It begs those questions,

:04:19. > :04:22.should we have got involved? We didn't want to get involved. That

:04:23. > :04:25.was due to public opinion. We don't want to get involved here either.

:04:26. > :04:32.Let's hope there is more resistance from American troops who are there.

:04:33. > :04:35.Towards the end of this story in Kirkuk, it seems as though security

:04:36. > :04:40.forces are putting up a fight. Maybe it has caught them by surprise. Now

:04:41. > :04:46.that they have... They have organised themselves, there could be

:04:47. > :04:52.more resistance. Let's move on to the Daily Mail. Kamran, what

:04:53. > :05:03.passport crisis? Angry families face ruin Summers, the PM is response ``

:05:04. > :05:06.VPN's response. The government has taken action apparently, 250 staff

:05:07. > :05:11.on the frontline, the passport frontline, they have been deployed.

:05:12. > :05:16.Geoffrey Robinson is quoted, saying, we are told all is well but staff

:05:17. > :05:20.are working 17 hour days and paid ?70 per hour overtime for the job of

:05:21. > :05:25.sticking labels on with names and addresses. If this is not a crisis

:05:26. > :05:29.of management, I don't know what is. Party politically, they are stirring

:05:30. > :05:32.it up. It seems as though people are not getting their passports. They

:05:33. > :05:36.are waiting for weeks, driving hundreds of miles to get to passport

:05:37. > :05:42.offices and getting them in person. It is a big problem. There is a

:05:43. > :05:44.story in the Daily Telegraph, where there was a meeting of high

:05:45. > :05:49.commissioners and ambassadors, a great meeting to be out, and they

:05:50. > :05:51.say that it isn't because there are hundreds out thousands more

:05:52. > :05:59.applications but because they have class overseas passport centres. ``

:06:00. > :06:02.they have shut. Was that just spend? David Cameron saying that because

:06:03. > :06:05.the economy has improved, people have more money so there are more

:06:06. > :06:24.applications for passports. It is a roundabout excuse.

:06:25. > :06:28.It was acknowledged that changes to the rules about overseas passport

:06:29. > :06:35.applications was going to create a huge backlog. It is a situation for

:06:36. > :06:41.the government, you are dammed if you do and then if you do not. There

:06:42. > :06:46.are huge amounts of anger about passports being delayed and not

:06:47. > :06:52.being able to get them in time. On the other hand, if the Home Office

:06:53. > :07:00.start relaxing checks to speed up the process, that is also a scandal

:07:01. > :07:07.in its self. People do not want to feel that it is less secure or

:07:08. > :07:14.reliable. As you were suggesting, the Labour Party and opposition

:07:15. > :07:18.benches are having a field day. There is a statement, this is a

:07:19. > :07:26.seriously chaotic and the government is in denial about the extent of the

:07:27. > :07:37.crisis. David Cameron is suggesting there is no crisis. It is a good

:07:38. > :07:41.front`page story. But the Home Office has already put out a

:07:42. > :07:47.statement saying it is nonsense. Are they saying it is nonsense or that

:07:48. > :07:53.they were not aware? They are not aware, but they have stamped on it.

:07:54. > :08:10.That is what they would like as to believe. It is a simple effort to

:08:11. > :08:17.reduce the backlog. Cos signatories as well as requirements for

:08:18. > :08:25.evidence. The sources say it could leave it to talk criminals and

:08:26. > :08:29.fraudsters. We were very worried about our leaking borders and if

:08:30. > :08:35.passports at being made easier for people who are fraudsters. It is

:08:36. > :08:40.clearly very worrying. Just to reiterate, they have told the

:08:41. > :09:05.passport office to withdraw it immediately. The Herald. JK Rowling

:09:06. > :09:14.attacks call to end online bile. She is receiving stick online for her

:09:15. > :09:20.donation. `` attracts. This story features not just the attacks on JK

:09:21. > :09:26.Rowling, but calls for figures in Scotland to stop these sorts of

:09:27. > :09:31.attacks on people who dared to voice an opinion on the referendum. That

:09:32. > :09:37.is actually something that is heated. That is a good thing to call

:09:38. > :09:45.for. People are entitled to have an opinion, JK Rowling has made no

:09:46. > :09:51.secret of being a donated. I think it is very corrosive if you have a

:09:52. > :09:57.situation where people are afraid to say one way or another what they

:09:58. > :10:04.think. That tenders the public debate. `` tenders.

:10:05. > :10:13.It is getting nasty now. It is, but it goes wider than this issue. Any

:10:14. > :10:19.issue that seems to get people excited also ends up with people

:10:20. > :10:24.going online, sending these messages to people, unnecessary messages. It

:10:25. > :10:31.could just be a general message to everyone. People getting on their

:10:32. > :10:36.computers and firing out the nasty as the thing that comes into their

:10:37. > :10:41.minds. There is no justification for this. Give it a rest. Yet on the

:10:42. > :10:53.doorsteps and offshore computers. That is a good idea. `` get on your

:10:54. > :11:01.doorsteps and off your. Let us go to the i. A good, positive headline for

:11:02. > :11:10.the i. The number of people in work leaps. But there is a sting in the

:11:11. > :11:16.tail. Wages are below inflation. People are going into short`term

:11:17. > :11:18.work, part`time work. People are leaving jobseekers allowance and are

:11:19. > :11:26.trying to get as much work as they possibly can. But it is very

:11:27. > :11:35.low`paid. The cost of living, it is the sort of thing the Labour Party

:11:36. > :11:40.keep banging away at. In fact, in the figures released today, the

:11:41. > :11:45.suggestion is that wage rises are not going up as fast as they were. I

:11:46. > :11:53.did not think wages were going up at all. That is the thing. We could go

:11:54. > :11:58.into the next election where there is a situation where there is a

:11:59. > :12:00.booming jobs market, but it is a funny kind of recovery where the

:12:01. > :12:06.numbers are good but people do not feel the difference. Something I was

:12:07. > :12:11.struck by was the office of budget responsibility saying that it will

:12:12. > :12:20.be 2018 before wages return to where they were at. That is still a long

:12:21. > :12:24.way off. That is the one bit of light for the Labour Party. They can

:12:25. > :12:30.hammer away at the cost of living prices. People might get bored of

:12:31. > :12:33.it, but because the coalition seemed to have done well with the economy,

:12:34. > :12:40.this is one part they have not managed to crack. The headline is

:12:41. > :12:44.the record boost to the UK jobs market.

:12:45. > :12:50.Onto the Express. Daily walk to stop the writers. That is your front

:12:51. > :12:57.page. `` arthritis. It affects millions of people across the world.

:12:58. > :13:04.It costs the NHS various things. Any replacement is ?5.2 billion every

:13:05. > :13:11.single year. `` a knee. We are supposed to get 10,000 steps per

:13:12. > :13:17.day. 1000 steps is a brisk walk. It is something that can be done by

:13:18. > :13:24.anyone. The study has found that problems have been slashed by 20%

:13:25. > :13:33.with just an extra 1000 steps. You can understand how people would

:13:34. > :13:37.think, maybe I should not move around as much. You would get that

:13:38. > :13:44.impression. It apparently if you keep walking around, the mobility

:13:45. > :13:51.does improve. Hopefully it will change lives. On to the Daily

:13:52. > :13:59.Mirror. I know you are excited about this. This is the picture on the

:14:00. > :14:03.front, the pitch that England are going to play on against England.

:14:04. > :14:12.This is what happens when you put too much manual on the grass. ``

:14:13. > :14:18.fertiliser. It is three days to go. It will be fine, it will be sorted.

:14:19. > :14:28.It will start and everyone will forget about it. All of the great

:14:29. > :14:31.stories come out. We have been through the favelas, now we are

:14:32. > :14:43.looking at the pictures. It. The great. `` it is still going to be.

:14:44. > :14:55.It is not just a problem for us. Thank you very much. And enjoy the

:14:56. > :14:59.World Cup. Stay with us. At the top of the Ella, the latest on the

:15:00. > :15:05.situation in Iraq as Islamist militants seize a second city in the

:15:06. > :15:06.north of the country. Coming up, it is time for World Cup Sportsday.
