:00:00. > :00:00.against Italy. The scene remained calm. The score remains 0`0, with

:00:00. > :00:21.half hour gone. `` half an hour. Hello and welcome to a look at what

:00:22. > :00:26.the papers will bring us tomorrow. With me, Kate Devlin, political

:00:27. > :00:32.correspondent and all of the brown, sports writer from the coming in. ``

:00:33. > :00:37.Oliver Browne. Let's look at the front pages. The Observer says that

:00:38. > :00:41.labour calls for cross`party talks on how religious education is

:00:42. > :00:46.conducted in the state sector. The paper highlights its own survey on

:00:47. > :00:50.the funding of faith schools `` the Labour Party. The Independent on

:00:51. > :00:55.Sunday highlights the crisis in Iraq as Iran offers to help and the US

:00:56. > :01:01.and an aircraft carrier to the Golf. The mail on Sunday says the PM David

:01:02. > :01:04.Cameron pledges to tackle extremism and reassert British values

:01:05. > :01:07.enshrined in the Magna Carta `` Delph. The Sunday Telegraph

:01:08. > :01:13.highlights how the number of families paying inheritance tax

:01:14. > :01:18.bills will arrive `` arise by a third. The Sunday Times has more

:01:19. > :01:23.allegations about the World Cup 2020 to bid for Qatar, showing ignored

:01:24. > :01:29.warnings about the risk of a terrorist attack closing the event.

:01:30. > :01:31.And, the Sun carries a story about Mick Jagger and his alleged

:01:32. > :01:40.relationship with an American ballet dancer. Let's begin. We start this

:01:41. > :01:48.evening with the Independent. The story about the headline, Baghdad

:01:49. > :01:53.fight back. It has been a story that has dominated the news today. It is

:01:54. > :01:57.interesting the Independent has chosen this headline. There seems to

:01:58. > :02:04.be a question mark about its ability to do so. The Sunday Times has an

:02:05. > :02:10.interesting story about an Iranian general it says is now effectively

:02:11. > :02:15.in Baghdad, helping to train the people who will lead the fight back.

:02:16. > :02:19.There are lots of questions about what the ability is within the

:02:20. > :02:25.country to fight ISIS and the questions it raises for the world.

:02:26. > :02:30.This unlikely alliance forming between Iran and America. Unlikely

:02:31. > :02:35.bedfellows, it you might say. I think that Iran, they denied there

:02:36. > :02:43.is any embedded presence in Baghdad at the moment. It is striking that

:02:44. > :02:49.Iran's president is saying he is willing to co`operate with the US.

:02:50. > :02:54.The headline, I think there is a danger of complacency. While they

:02:55. > :03:03.might have stopped the troops at 60 miles away, what will it take to

:03:04. > :03:05.repel them? That would require American involvement and clearly

:03:06. > :03:13.President Obama is willing to launch air strikes. Anything short of a

:03:14. > :03:22.ground invasion seems to be on the table. Moving on. The Observer,

:03:23. > :03:30.which looks back at the UK. They have carried out a survey looking at

:03:31. > :03:35.what people think of faith schools. They are asking where people think

:03:36. > :03:41.the funding should come from. Kate, I will start with you. You said that

:03:42. > :03:48.she went to a faith School. Surprisingly, you aren't happy with

:03:49. > :03:50.them as a role model. I think there are significant problems with faith

:03:51. > :03:57.schools and not only because I spent 14 years at one. The great thing

:03:58. > :04:00.about school is that it teaches kids. It is a levelling thing,

:04:01. > :04:09.teaches kids that people are similar to them. The problem is, if you put

:04:10. > :04:13.children into faith schools, it creates division. It is interesting

:04:14. > :04:18.that this poll, I was surprised by how many people think that. 60% said

:04:19. > :04:26.that they thought faith schools promoted division. I think there is

:04:27. > :04:30.a caveat here, it would be interesting to see if these figures

:04:31. > :04:32.were at the same level a couple of weeks ago before the allegations

:04:33. > :04:41.about extremist de targeting schools. `` extremists. About the

:04:42. > :04:47.Trojan Horse. It is a question about what the concerns people would

:04:48. > :04:51.have. It comes off the back of the Trojan Horse thing. Those figures

:04:52. > :04:57.are high. There is no doubt. I don't know the size of the poll. The

:04:58. > :05:00.figures are high. I am amazed by the strength of feeling, that is 58%

:05:01. > :05:05.believe faith schools should not be funded by the state or should be

:05:06. > :05:08.abolished and that 70% said the taxpayers shouldn't have any role in

:05:09. > :05:16.funding the promotion of religion in schools. Kate was giving us an

:05:17. > :05:19.account of being taught by nuns in Northern Ireland, but I wonder what

:05:20. > :05:28.the significance that is ascribed to faith schools. The notion that we

:05:29. > :05:33.learn a news in a classroom is misplaced. We learn from parents and

:05:34. > :05:37.from how people behave around you. Sometimes I think the importance is

:05:38. > :05:41.overstated of how it can affect you. I am sure that some faith schools R.

:05:42. > :05:51.We have just been told that Italy have scored `` are. Do you want to

:05:52. > :05:57.show some live footage? They are celebrating now. He is the goal.

:05:58. > :06:04.Played wide. `` here it is the goal. Leaving Joe Hart sprawling. Unable

:06:05. > :06:11.to stop it. Italy are a 1`0 ahead. Let's carry on with the newspapers.

:06:12. > :06:16.With the funding on faith schools, there is no doubt they would get

:06:17. > :06:19.good results. The Church of England has been robust in its defence in

:06:20. > :06:27.the comments it has given this evening. Anyone who thinks that the

:06:28. > :06:31.wishy`washy Church of England primary schools out there are

:06:32. > :06:35.attracting extremists is overplaying it. I think that the poll suggests

:06:36. > :06:44.there is a bigger issue than that. The Daily Mail has a link story.

:06:45. > :06:50.David Cameron says, the more British. You aren't convinced about

:06:51. > :06:53.this. `` E more British. It's the talk of British values, I wonder

:06:54. > :07:01.what happened to the great British value of understatement. It seems

:07:02. > :07:06.that Cameron is tapping into this fad for being very muscular about

:07:07. > :07:14.British values, without actually specifying directly what they are.

:07:15. > :07:20.If I might be indulged, you hear a lot around the England rugby team

:07:21. > :07:25.about provoking the spirit of age in court. With Cameron saying he will

:07:26. > :07:28.use the 800 anniversary of the Magna Carta, I think that is a bit of a

:07:29. > :07:33.fake, historical anniversary `` Agincourt. A fact that it is a

:07:34. > :07:40.general election year in 2015 is more central. You are very cynical.

:07:41. > :07:46.The big question many people will say is, what are British values?

:07:47. > :07:51.Unfortunately, the government has not pin them down. Michael Gove's

:07:52. > :07:54.department will consult this summer over what the richest values are

:07:55. > :08:01.before they can teach them in schools from September. `` what

:08:02. > :08:04.these British values. There isn't anything wrong of being proud of who

:08:05. > :08:11.you are and of your achievements and values. I agree with Oliver, there

:08:12. > :08:14.is something not British about it. England have scored, so there is

:08:15. > :08:21.something very British about this. It is not Wayne Rooney. Oliver will

:08:22. > :08:27.tell me, I think that is Sturridge. It looks like it, certainly. We are

:08:28. > :08:32.not getting mum of a newspaper review but we are getting one heck

:08:33. > :08:40.of a soccer wrap `` not getting much. On to the Sunday Times. We are

:08:41. > :08:47.rattling through. It is a feature story about the awarding to Qatar of

:08:48. > :08:54.the 2022 World Cup and the story says that FIFA ignored its own

:08:55. > :08:57.terror alert, allegedly. It isn't quite the smoking gun that the

:08:58. > :09:02.Sunday Times were looking for despite their great work on the

:09:03. > :09:07.story. This is Andre priest, who headed the security operation at the

:09:08. > :09:12.2010 World Cup, saying or alleging FIFA ignored his advice that it was

:09:13. > :09:19.unwise to hold the World Cup in Kotara, because of its proximity to

:09:20. > :09:24.countries with an Al Qaeda presence `` Qatar `` Andre Priest. There is

:09:25. > :09:27.also information about the alleged corruption involvement with the lead

:09:28. > :09:36.investigator supposedly receiving a wonderful watch from the army of

:09:37. > :09:40.Kotara. There is a statement from Kotara saying they have Michael

:09:41. > :09:43.Garcia, the FIFA ethics investigator looking at this `` Kotara. They say

:09:44. > :09:48.the allegations are baseless and riddled with innuendo. Onto the

:09:49. > :09:54.Sunday Times a great headline, Labour 's dosh for dads. There is a

:09:55. > :10:03.sting in the tail. They might back this. It is an interesting policy

:10:04. > :10:07.idea, the idea of giving dad 's four weeks paid paternity leave instead

:10:08. > :10:14.of just two. You can take it off at the moment, unpaid. Only 1% of dads

:10:15. > :10:17.are doing it. I think this will be very popular with young families.

:10:18. > :10:24.Oliver, in a few seconds, there will be lots of people tearing their hair

:10:25. > :10:30.out. 72% of employers were implacably opposed to this. Thank

:10:31. > :10:37.you very much. Kate Durbin and Oliver Browne. Sorry, we interrupt

:10:38. > :10:43.you for the sport. Stay with us on BBC News. At midnight, Iran offers

:10:44. > :10:45.to help Baghdad and Washington stopped Sunni insurgents from

:10:46. > :10:49.capturing territory inside Iraq. Coming up next, as you might exert,

:10:50. > :10:53.it is World Cup Sportsday. `` expect.
