:00:00. > :00:13.Hello. This is BBC News. We'll be taking a look at tomorrow mornings

:00:14. > :00:16.papers in a moment. First the headlines: The search for the

:00:17. > :00:19.identity of the man who beheaded journalist James Foley is on as

:00:20. > :00:23.British intelligence agencies try to track him down. It's believed that

:00:24. > :00:30.three UK men are amongst those holding foreigners in Syria. ?80

:00:31. > :00:35.millions for his release ` that's the ransom Islamic State militants

:00:36. > :00:46.demanded for James Foley's freedom. The US says they post a long`term

:00:47. > :00:54.threat. We should expect ice is to regroup and stage more offences. The

:00:55. > :00:57.US military involvement is not over. Tests are being carried out on the

:00:58. > :01:00.body of a man in Ireland who died after developing Ebola like

:01:01. > :01:03.symptoms. He recently returned from a visit to Africa. In America, a

:01:04. > :01:05.doctor and an aid worker who contracted Ebola in Liberia have

:01:06. > :01:12.recovered after being treated with an experimental drug. Here, GCSE

:01:13. > :01:15.results show an overall rise in pupils getting the top grades `

:01:16. > :01:25.Maths in particular sees a marked upturn. But English results dip `

:01:26. > :01:33.after changes to the exam system. We will have the latest on allegations

:01:34. > :01:38.surrounding mall can make a and Ian Moody. England have qualified for

:01:39. > :01:45.the women's World Cup final in Canada after beating Wales 4`0. The

:01:46. > :01:48.IPC athletics and aquatics championships. That is all on

:01:49. > :02:04.Sportsday. Hello and welcome to our look ahead

:02:05. > :02:07.to what the papers will be bringing us tomorrow. With me are the

:02:08. > :02:13.broadcaster Jennie Bond and the political journalist Rob Merrick.

:02:14. > :02:18.Thank you both for coming in this evening. Let's have a quick look at

:02:19. > :02:20.some of the front pages. Like it's English counterpart the Scottish

:02:21. > :02:24.Daily Mail leads with comments by fellow hostage ` Didier Francois `

:02:25. > :02:27.who was released earlier this year. He says he "roughly" recognises the

:02:28. > :02:34.man behind the beheading as someone they would call "John". The Daily

:02:35. > :02:40.Telegraph says the net is closing in on the Jihadist who killed Foley, `

:02:41. > :02:43.with the SAS on standby. The Times says twice as many British Muslims

:02:44. > :02:46.have joined the fight in Syria compared to joining the British

:02:47. > :02:49.different lead ` the Bank of different lead ` the Bank of

:02:50. > :02:55.America's record settlement of $17 billion ` dominates their front

:02:56. > :02:58.pages. It's as a result of the misselling of toxic mortgages that

:02:59. > :03:01.led to the banking crisis of 2008Back on the murder of James

:03:02. > :03:08.Foley in the Guardian ` that leads with a call from MPs to toughen

:03:09. > :03:11.domestic laws on extremism. The Scotsman has a rallying call from

:03:12. > :03:17.Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond at the last Holyrood session before

:03:18. > :03:19.the referendum. And finally, the Sun leads with an image of former

:03:20. > :03:32.footballer Paul Gascoigne and his ongoing problems with alcohol. Let's

:03:33. > :03:41.begin. We will start this hour with the Daily Mail and the headline,

:03:42. > :03:50.sadistic reign of jihadi. James Foley, we have been featuring the

:03:51. > :03:55.story. This story dominating so many papers. They are all taking a

:03:56. > :04:02.slightly different angles on it. This is the most interesting, to my

:04:03. > :04:10.mind. It is the most actual or stop they have talked to former captives

:04:11. > :04:17.held alongside Mr Foley and the image one gets of this chap called

:04:18. > :04:22.John, I should not call him a chap, this monster. We are learning he

:04:23. > :04:33.beat up James Foley and the others. Mr Foley was forced to stand in a

:04:34. > :04:39.crucifix pose against the wall. This jihadi John probably spoke to Mr

:04:40. > :04:46.Foley's parents via Skype which really is chilling. The more you

:04:47. > :04:52.learn about the time in captivity, the worst it seems to be. This is

:04:53. > :04:59.definitely the best. We can agree on that. Hostages are reluctant to go

:05:00. > :05:05.on the record but clearly, the Daily Mail have spoken to former hostages

:05:06. > :05:10.and it has given it its power. We know James Foley received

:05:11. > :05:18.distressing e`mails not long before the act. It is interesting, they are

:05:19. > :05:23.concentrating less on who we use, the ID which has been fascinating

:05:24. > :05:30.much of the media. And it is not just him. There are other Brits

:05:31. > :05:36.there. It is believed that the narrator, was not actually the

:05:37. > :05:45.killer. I have not seen the video but... It is not clear the narrator,

:05:46. > :05:52.as he is called, it is the killer. The Times have a different angle.

:05:53. > :06:02.Hundreds more UK Muslims choose jihad over the UK army. If that is

:06:03. > :06:08.accurate, then it is devastating. We just thought it was confusing,

:06:09. > :06:16.bizarre, perplexing. Why on earth they want to have this headline is

:06:17. > :06:21.not clear. Is it the shock value? It is sinister. What are they trying to

:06:22. > :06:28.say about Muslims who do not join the Army? I have not join the army.

:06:29. > :06:36.We would not quite clear what they were trying to say. The figures are

:06:37. > :06:44.quite tiny as well. 220 Muslim joined the army and twice as many

:06:45. > :06:50.have travelled to Syria and Iraq. Its value is lessened by the facts.

:06:51. > :06:55.We were talking about an hour ago about the different angles. The

:06:56. > :07:01.shock of this story seems to dominate. The hunt is on. You can

:07:02. > :07:10.see that the newspapers will continue on this hunt for John, just

:07:11. > :07:18.like the security services. That is the number one aim. That will happen

:07:19. > :07:23.at some time. With Facebook and social media, surely his name will

:07:24. > :07:30.come out. Somebody in Britain will know who we are is. Downing Street

:07:31. > :07:37.is not just about jihadi John. There are 500 Britons out there. For them

:07:38. > :07:42.it is the bulk of the people out there rather than just one

:07:43. > :07:46.individual. Let's go on to domestic use. Staying with The Times, fears

:07:47. > :07:54.overvalued medics trained for two years. The first paragraph: patients

:07:55. > :08:00.will be treated by less qualified dog is. The government plans to

:08:01. > :08:10.relieve pressure on the NHS. `` doctors. The papers are full of

:08:11. > :08:15.scare stories. If I was confronted by someone clearly less qualified, I

:08:16. > :08:18.would feel like a second`class it is an stop however, there is a lot of

:08:19. > :08:27.Administration work that could be done. Admitting and discharging, the

:08:28. > :08:34.ordering of tests. That could regard by someone with limited experience.

:08:35. > :08:40.And deciding on treatment? It seems to go a bit too far there. I wonder

:08:41. > :08:53.if I should draw the parallel with police. We get different systems.

:08:54. > :08:59.Teaching for example. Most people would agree they are very valuable.

:09:00. > :09:06.50 years it has been going on in the States. It does not seem to have

:09:07. > :09:12.been any great crisis. Later on in the story, the treaty should medical

:09:13. > :09:17.Association is cautious about the change. They say it could be useful

:09:18. > :09:28.if done properly. It sounds to me they could at least see the merit of

:09:29. > :09:37.the story. Don't tell me cost will come into it, surely not! Today has

:09:38. > :09:44.been G CSC discovery Day. What is different this year is the fact

:09:45. > :09:54.there is a new secretary, a new minister in charge of education. ``

:09:55. > :10:00.G CSC. The results are a direct result of what Michael Gove

:10:01. > :10:10.implemented when he was there. His legacy, boys are falling behind

:10:11. > :10:15.girls. Basically, because the method of examining people has changed, it

:10:16. > :10:22.has become more rigourous, the greater fall, particularly in

:10:23. > :10:31.English. Some people would dispute that. There has been less course

:10:32. > :10:35.work and left attributed to it. `` less. That loading towards the end

:10:36. > :10:42.of an exam does suit some are not others. Supporters would say that

:10:43. > :10:48.life is a bit like that. There was always going to be this debate.

:10:49. > :10:55.Intelligence, achievement, through assessment all by some hot housing

:10:56. > :11:01.where we know some people will not perform. The debate will go on. For

:11:02. > :11:12.the children who got worst results today, it is devastating. I know

:11:13. > :11:16.some head teachers were saying they were shocked by them. They have an

:11:17. > :11:25.example who got ten and then suddenly they go down to a D or an E

:11:26. > :11:31.in English. Some things seem to have gone wrong. Can we not just

:11:32. > :11:35.concentrate on educating our children instead of examining them

:11:36. > :11:45.from three years old. It has two stop! Plans afoot. On to the

:11:46. > :11:53.Scotsman. We will not go with the go out and win message for Alex

:11:54. > :12:00.Salmond. Instead it is Ebola alert in Ireland after a man dies.

:12:01. > :12:08.Obviously, a great deal of concern it might have reached the shores of

:12:09. > :12:13.Ireland. This is a real scare story. This is frightening. Cannot imagine

:12:14. > :12:18.why this is not all over the papers. It says the chances are fairly

:12:19. > :12:23.remote. Extremely low, it says. Of it being passed on. A person would

:12:24. > :12:27.have to have very close contact. Clearly, this guy came back on a

:12:28. > :12:33.plane and that is pretty close contact. It is terrifying. I was

:12:34. > :12:40.surprised not to see it in more papers. Scotland is closer to

:12:41. > :12:48.Ireland and maybe that brings it closer to home. The transmission is

:12:49. > :12:54.extremely low. But getting in contact with the people that were

:12:55. > :12:59.close to this person is clearly important. It is all about the panic

:13:00. > :13:04.stopping it coming back here. Tracing people who have been in

:13:05. > :13:21.contact could stop the spread. I fear that these last two stories

:13:22. > :13:25.will bring out the bad in Jenny. You are not quite sure of this is true?

:13:26. > :13:32.I could not believe that food bills tumble. Absolutely not, as far as I

:13:33. > :13:38.am concerned. Everybody is complaining. Apparently it is backed

:13:39. > :13:45.up. Because of this vicious price war. Morrison says it will half its

:13:46. > :13:56.underlying profit. Well, I do not shop at expensive supermarket at all

:13:57. > :14:04.but my bills are extra, `` astronomical. Supermarket was a big

:14:05. > :14:10.business. They do not do my own shopping, that idea is outrageous. I

:14:11. > :14:19.look forward to receiving the letter. There is evidence that.

:14:20. > :14:29.Supermarkets having to react and bring down prices. Most would see it

:14:30. > :14:36.as a good news story. Presumably if his on the front of the FT because

:14:37. > :14:44.it is a bad news story for some. A story I no we are role keen to get

:14:45. > :14:48.to. Page three of the mail. By a powerful vacuum cleaner now. This

:14:49. > :14:54.combines everything from household chores to having a go at Europe. Who

:14:55. > :15:04.does the hoovering in the bond house? Roger. Isn't that the

:15:05. > :15:11.cleaner? He is a robot. He is a new acquisition. A cheap one. He is

:15:12. > :15:17.absolutely excellent. This is another true scare story. Honestly,

:15:18. > :15:25.if you cannot have your 1600 watt vacuum because Europe says no. Why

:15:26. > :15:31.isn't saying no? It is a climate controlled thing. That really, I

:15:32. > :15:40.think we should be allowed to buy whatever Hoover we want. It is a

:15:41. > :15:47.delicious image of everybody fighting for the last few powerful

:15:48. > :15:53.Hoover 's. This is like the lightbulbs. So we cannot see. I

:15:54. > :16:02.suppose we cannot see the dust any more so it is good. He with the main

:16:03. > :16:08.Hoover must in your household? We will leave that one aside for the

:16:09. > :16:16.moment. He has vetoed the last two stories! The power of the Hoover

:16:17. > :16:21.does not reflect how well it picks up the dad. It is all about the

:16:22. > :16:40.transmission. Obviously, they are arguing that.

:16:41. > :16:45.They say the labels could be misleading because they didn't take

:16:46. > :16:51.into account the cost of consumables, like vacuum bags.

:16:52. > :16:59.That's a good point. He is a very clever man. That joke from the

:17:00. > :17:03.Edinburgh Fringe Festival, he got rid of his Hoover because it was

:17:04. > :17:08.collecting dust. Yes, there were a lot of good 1`liners. You can't

:17:09. > :17:12.claim credibility for that. That's it for The Papers this hour. Thank

:17:13. > :17:15.you to my guests. Stay with us here on BBC News. At midnight, we'll have

:17:16. > :17:18.the very latest on the attempts to identify the jihadist, who was

:17:19. > :17:30.filmed beheading the American journalist James Foley. Now it's

:17:31. > :17:39.time for Sportsday. Hello. I'm John Acres, welcome to

:17:40. > :17:45.Sportsday. Heading to the Women's World Cup. England book their place

:17:46. > :17:48.in the finals by thrashing Wales. Malky Mackay apologises for sending

:17:49. > :17:50.two messages of a "very regrettable" nature, following allegations he

:17:51. > :17:51.exchanged discriminatory texts with a former
