:00:00. > :00:07.Radamel Falcao on a season`long loan deal. He is United's six signing of

:00:08. > :00:15.the summer. That is in Sportsday after the papers.

:00:16. > :00:18.Hello and welcome to our look ahead to what the the papers

:00:19. > :00:21.With me are the broadcaster Penny Smith

:00:22. > :00:36.Let's look at some of the morning papers. The Daily Express is leading

:00:37. > :00:39.an David Cameron's plans to tackle the terror threat to the UK by

:00:40. > :00:44.giving the police temporary powers to seize passports of suspects. The

:00:45. > :00:51.Guardian claims a keeper Bozo to stop terror suspects returning to

:00:52. > :00:58.the UK has had to be shelved `` claims a key proposal. Britain may

:00:59. > :01:01.join American air strikes on Iraq and Syria if national security is

:01:02. > :01:04.threatened according to the Daily Telegraph. A poll commissioned for

:01:05. > :01:07.the Independent suggests they would be strong public opposition in

:01:08. > :01:14.Britain went ahead with air strikes against Islamic State. The metro

:01:15. > :01:17.claims that Apple is under pressure to improve its security after

:01:18. > :01:20.hackers stole naked photographs of female celebrities including

:01:21. > :01:23.Jennifer Lawrence. The hacking story is on the front page of the Daily

:01:24. > :01:27.Star which claims the actress and model Kelly Brook was one of the

:01:28. > :01:36.celebrities who had rowed across stolen. We start with the Daily

:01:37. > :01:43.Telegraph, the UK ready to take steps, David Cameron with proposals

:01:44. > :01:48.that he hopes will make us safer from these people going to fight in

:01:49. > :01:53.Iraq and Syria. Does it make much sense according to the Telegraph? We

:01:54. > :02:03.have been waiting for the non`knee`jerk reaction for a little

:02:04. > :02:07.while. Everybody was saying don't have a knee jerk reaction to the

:02:08. > :02:12.James Foley execution. This does not seem to be much of a reaction at

:02:13. > :02:23.all. A lot of words about doing this and this, a programme for the

:02:24. > :02:28.radicalisation `` but how do we know who is out there? We have been told

:02:29. > :02:44.500 people, but how do they know? How can they de`radicalise people?

:02:45. > :02:48.Are they profiling people? How do they do that? There are many words

:02:49. > :02:55.here, but I can't see where the meat is that we badly need. White but do

:02:56. > :03:01.we, do we need to hear more? Civil liberties campaigners would argue

:03:02. > :03:04.that the laws are already there. If you know somebody has gone over

:03:05. > :03:07.there and taken part in terrorist activity, then press charges and

:03:08. > :03:21.lock them up it is a jihadi wearing a Mexican hat

:03:22. > :03:26.and carrying a donkey, saying "nobody will know you have been

:03:27. > :03:31.fighting in Iraq or Syria." That's the point, it isn't difficult to

:03:32. > :03:36.change, not difficult to get a new passport probably. They have been

:03:37. > :03:42.borrowing passports already, going out with passports of people who

:03:43. > :03:45.look vaguely like them. What the Conservative get of the coalition

:03:46. > :03:49.really wanted to do, what many people in the country feel should

:03:50. > :03:53.happen is that if it is known you have gone out there, you cannot come

:03:54. > :03:59.back into the country. They cannot do that and that is the problem.

:04:00. > :04:04.Nick Clegg is also saying that a lot of this is not going to pass muster

:04:05. > :04:10.when you talk about human rights. If you go down this route, all I can

:04:11. > :04:14.see the endless court cases, people saying they have been wrongly

:04:15. > :04:20.imprisoned, had their passport away, that they were not there. We have

:04:21. > :04:25.been told it is illegal under international law to render someone

:04:26. > :04:27.who is a British citizen stateless. They can take away citizenship from

:04:28. > :04:32.someone who has been naturalised in Britain, that's one thing they are

:04:33. > :04:36.looking at, and they can take away citizenship from somebody who is

:04:37. > :04:44.awaiting British citizenship, somebody who has a passport and it

:04:45. > :04:50.is in a work `` in the works. But who is out there? The answer is that

:04:51. > :04:53.they do not know. What is interesting about this politically

:04:54. > :05:01.is how damaging it looks for Nick Clegg, to the country. Is it a

:05:02. > :05:07.U`turn? Signing up to the proposals. Absolutely, but they say

:05:08. > :05:11.they have kicked into the long grass of the issues that David Cameron

:05:12. > :05:14.wanted to address today. They negotiated over the weekend. I've

:05:15. > :05:21.been reading a lot of comments about the Lib Dems, and my programme is

:05:22. > :05:29.asking questions and many people think it is damaging for them

:05:30. > :05:35.because they might look weak, like they are putting Civil Liberties

:05:36. > :05:38.ahead of security. Certainly many commentators are saying that they

:05:39. > :05:43.have got to balance it right, the Lib Dems. Although they are right to

:05:44. > :05:49.protect our Civil Liberties, for those people who are afraid... I

:05:50. > :05:53.just wonder if anybody is going to feel more secure, even if these are

:05:54. > :06:09.brought in. Is anybody going to feel safer? Staying with the Telegraph

:06:10. > :06:14.now, the eye cloud `` iCloud. We were saying that we don't understand

:06:15. > :06:19.it. White the Daily Telegraph has a photograph of Jennifer Lawrence. ``

:06:20. > :06:24.the Daily Telegraph has photographs of Jennifer Lawrence. Photographs

:06:25. > :06:30.had been released which she thought were deleted long ago. We think that

:06:31. > :06:36.they were on iCloud. We are a bit long in the tooth to embrace the

:06:37. > :06:43.technology. We have heard about iCloud. We have been we were told

:06:44. > :06:52.that everything was safe, you think you have deleted it but it seems

:06:53. > :07:00.not. These... The iCloud has essentially been hacked. You don't

:07:01. > :07:06.have any idea! It is like climbing up a tree and there is a cloud

:07:07. > :07:11.there. I was talking to my floor manager who said that apparently,

:07:12. > :07:18.there is stuff on the Internet, right? If you delete something...

:07:19. > :07:27.From the Internet? From your e`mail, for instance, it is backed up on the

:07:28. > :07:33.cloud. You are doing that like it is a real cloud! One of the actresses

:07:34. > :07:38.who had pictures splashed around said that she was told these

:07:39. > :07:42.pictures had been deleted long ago. If you delete something, I'm sure

:07:43. > :07:48.people on Twitter will tell us what we should be talking about, even if

:07:49. > :07:56.you delete something it is still back up. It is only deleted on your

:07:57. > :08:04.phone. And the cloud, it is a server somewhere? There are servers in

:08:05. > :08:09.Wisconsin, Delaware somewhere. So it does not even looked like a cloud?

:08:10. > :08:19.No, it is a big ugly building! We shouldn't laugh, it is a bad dory.

:08:20. > :08:23.It is a problem for all of us, we are told that something is secure,

:08:24. > :08:28.and we assume it is because we don't have the technological knowledge, I

:08:29. > :08:34.don't, to question it. We are told that it is backed up, if you lose

:08:35. > :08:40.your phone it is all still bear. It is like the technology has run away

:08:41. > :08:45.we think it is quite exciting. We are so excited about using it, it is

:08:46. > :08:50.great, we buy the products but there is a lot underneath we don't ask

:08:51. > :09:02.about. There is this thing about the dark web, which I am scared about.

:09:03. > :09:09.The dark web! Let's move on to the Independent. A poll on air strikes

:09:10. > :09:14.in Iraq. Apparently there is strong public opposition to the UK being

:09:15. > :09:30.involved with America in attacking ISIS,

:09:31. > :09:40.sold as something new. Doing the shows that I do, asking about public

:09:41. > :09:47.opinion, phoning in, this isn't new. I would say that this is pretty

:09:48. > :09:53.evident. What is it, 50% of us are against, 33% are in favour, and 15%

:09:54. > :09:57.are undecided as to whether it's a good idea or not. I don't think that

:09:58. > :10:04.has changed. I thought that might have changed a bit weird the severe

:10:05. > :10:09.threat coming in. And David Cameron's comments making it clear

:10:10. > :10:11.that this is a very serious threat. He is saying that if he feels he has

:10:12. > :10:17.to join the Americans, he will do it to join the Americans, he will do it

:10:18. > :10:25.without going to MPs first. Because he was burnt over Syria. There are

:10:26. > :10:31.reports on page four and page five. I was wondering when this opinion

:10:32. > :10:36.poll was taken, whether it was... That is the feedback I have been

:10:37. > :10:40.getting, I don't know about you. I wonder if it has changed, whether it

:10:41. > :10:47.was done before the severe threat on Friday. White staying with the

:10:48. > :10:50.independent `` staying with the independent, coping about wealthy

:10:51. > :11:06.criminals the fact that anybody would think

:11:07. > :11:17.that criminals were not clever, when of course they are clever. They can

:11:18. > :11:22.run rings. Crime pays? Half ?1 billion is issued, the police, when

:11:23. > :11:32.they have caught a rich crook and they are going to take their assets

:11:33. > :11:35.the way. Confiscation. Yes, half ?1 billion is owed and they say that

:11:36. > :11:40.realistically we will get 160 million, or not. Probably they are

:11:41. > :11:50.not the cleverest of the rich criminals. The front page of the

:11:51. > :12:04.Guardian. It says that they are practised rutting. I like the

:12:05. > :12:08.picture because although it does not feel like it in many places and the

:12:09. > :12:15.temperatures are going to go up, it is actually the start of autumn. It

:12:16. > :12:19.has been a brilliant summer for a lot of people and there is something

:12:20. > :12:24.quite nice. August has been terrible! I went for a walk in Devon

:12:25. > :12:32.and the hedgerows are groaning, there are so many blackberries. Some

:12:33. > :12:41.of them have gone to the iCloud! We will work out exactly what it is,

:12:42. > :12:46.hopefully, when we revisit the newspapers again. Stay with us. At

:12:47. > :12:50.the top of the hour we will have much more on the situation regarding

:12:51. > :12:55.the government's anti`terror measures announced by the Prime

:12:56. > :13:10.Minister, in tackling British`born jihadists. Now, Sportsday.

:13:11. > :13:15.Hello and welcome to Sportsday, I'm John Watson, live from the

:13:16. > :13:19.BBC Sports Centre in Salford with around 13 minutes remaining

:13:20. > :13:23.With over ?800 million spent already, there is still time for one
