:00:47. > :00:50.in Inverness, this is coming on the same evening, in the last few

:00:56. > :01:00.its centre operations from Edinburgh down to London. That is a real
:01:01. > :01:07.shock. The Daily Telegraph and most front pages have gone to print too
:01:08. > :01:13.early to get the story. It is a worry, RBS, taxpayer owned bank, we
:01:14. > :01:17.know the story of Fred the shred and this is not the time to rehash that
:01:18. > :01:24.but it is a worry for jobs in Scotland. The story is that this

:01:31. > :01:34.undecided, 10% of Scots undecided and I think that is the key to wear
:01:35. > :01:43.this referendum is going to be decided. Indeed, the 10% undecided,
:01:44. > :01:44.do you think that the emotional push made by Cameron, Clegg and Miliband
:01:45. > :01:55.will have an effect? I was what side of the political

:02:22. > :02:26.will never vote for independence" and quite a view our thinking that
:02:27. > :02:30.they might. It is a heart and head matter and that is why so many of us
:02:31. > :02:38.are undecided. I count myself among them. It is a case of what we want
:02:39. > :02:42.to happen against whether we believe what Salmond is calling the

:03:03. > :03:10.Thank you. Colleen, you are flying solo. I have time to tell Nicky to

:03:16. > :03:19.thought that Danny Alexander, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, did
:03:20. > :03:23.an excellent job. His is the key story in the Daily Telegraph where
:03:24. > :03:28.he mentions that this is the day that the economic case the
:03:29. > :03:32.separation died. It is clear that the reality of Independence is that
:03:33. > :03:37.it will cost jobs, investment and growth. That was always a
:03:38. > :03:44.possibility, that Lloyds and RBS may shift. They might, but now we are
:03:45. > :03:50.seeing it. Those who are leaning towards voted yes say that they have
:03:51. > :03:54.factored it in an David Cameron has made it clear that he believes
:03:55. > :04:01.Scotland could survive on its own. We are also seeing the big guns,
:04:02. > :04:09.Mark Carney, BP, and others, and we have a mortgage story coming up,
:04:10. > :04:12.indicating the reality, money saying `` many saying that there has not

:04:22. > :04:26.and individuals selling their property saying that they are
:04:27. > :04:33.putting a clause, only if there is a no vote, that is serious. People who
:04:34. > :04:38.make economic decisions are saying that they need a no vote. The
:04:39. > :04:46.Financial Times, the big guns wading in as a new poll backs the no camp,
:04:47. > :04:51.a reference to the opinion poll this evening putting the no camp ahead by
:04:52. > :04:56.six points. You are saying that the economic tyres are hitting the road
:04:57. > :04:59.now and this is going to be waking people up in Scotland to the full
:05:00. > :05:05.ramifications potentially of a yes vote. I think that the big guns
:05:06. > :05:10.didn't want to wade into early because they thought it might be
:05:11. > :05:16.scaremongering. Although there has been a lot of talk about no
:05:17. > :05:19.sterling, not being in the EU. There was no reality that this could
:05:20. > :05:24.actually happen but now when you have Mark Carney, the governor of
:05:25. > :05:28.the Bank of England, coming out with a strong statement, and you have Bob
:05:29. > :05:34.Dudley, that BP Chief Executive, saying clearly that the North Sea
:05:35. > :05:40.oil does not have a future and that the best is to have the integrity of
:05:41. > :05:45.the UK for there to be oil resources and for Scotland to count on having
:05:46. > :05:52.a Norway moment when they will have a surplus of oil, none of the
:05:53. > :05:56.experts are predicting that. There are experts on big oil in Scotland
:05:57. > :06:00.who would say that there is plenty. The debate about whether or not
:06:01. > :06:06.North Sea oil is going to run out over the next 30 years has been
:06:07. > :06:08.running for a long time. They know the economic ratification is of
:06:09. > :06:14.independence and yet so many people are still leaning towards it. One of
:06:15. > :06:19.the big guns, Sir Ian Woods, an industry veteran, saying
:06:20. > :06:27.specifically that the energy industry is going to be hurt if
:06:28. > :06:34.Scotland votes yes. Let's go to the daily record. Alex's Black
:06:35. > :06:41.Wednesday. Exclusive poll gives the yes camp a 6`point mountain to climb
:06:42. > :06:44.in the last week. Some are saying that the yes campaign peaked too
:06:45. > :06:50.early, but Alex Salmond says that isn't the case. Perhaps that's
:06:51. > :06:57.exactly what happened, the yes campaign gained such momentum. If
:06:58. > :07:02.that had happened closer to the vote maybe it would take off but at this
:07:03. > :07:09.stage, I think it was Danny Alexander who put the Black
:07:10. > :07:13.Wednesday figure in our minds. He alluded to this being similar to
:07:14. > :07:17.when Britain fell out of the exchange rate mechanism in 1990, and
:07:18. > :07:23.that this is Alex Salmond's Black Wednesday. The trend for the yes
:07:24. > :07:29.camp since mid August has been that it has been increasing its support
:07:30. > :07:36.and that has continued. You are saying that has come to an end with
:07:37. > :07:41.this poll? We'll see. It looked like the campaign was gaining momentum.
:07:42. > :07:46.So this poll is very important. Is there enough time for them to regain
:07:47. > :07:51.momentum when you have a show of force with all three leaders coming
:07:52. > :07:55.to Scotland? It may have stopped it. Sure. You are a former State
:07:56. > :08:02.Department official and we have heard various people in the no
:08:03. > :08:06.campaign talking about what it would mean for the UK on the international
:08:07. > :08:12.stage if Scotland split from the union. What do you think? I think
:08:13. > :08:17.looking at Scotland's position globally, within the United
:08:18. > :08:23.Kingdom, the UK is number three in the population of the U, after
:08:24. > :08:30.Germany and France. If Scotland is separate, their population is about
:08:31. > :08:36.5,300,000, putting them behind Slovakia and slightly ahead of
:08:37. > :08:43.Croatia. AI independent countries. Alex Salmond believes that the
:08:44. > :08:47.would`be part of the EU. You want to have an impact as a nation and one
:08:48. > :08:53.of the things that would happen for Scotland to break away, the UK,
:08:54. > :08:58.instead of being number three in population and in force, it would be
:08:59. > :09:03.like Croatia without the sunshine. That is number one. Number two, is
:09:04. > :09:07.Scotland thinking through the ramifications, how many hundreds of
:09:08. > :09:12.thousands of Scots are in England and Wales who would become
:09:13. > :09:18.foreigners? They have thought about that and they are still thinking
:09:19. > :09:20.about yes. Will they have eight Embassy in every country? Many
:09:21. > :09:37.don't, they are deferring to the EU. But it would not have the nuclear
:09:38. > :09:44.deterrent it does not want. But what will they had to defend themselves?
:09:45. > :09:50.They would not have NATO. There are a number of countries in NATO that
:09:51. > :09:59.don't... Scotland would not be able to be part of NATO with their
:10:00. > :10:03.current adversity to nuclear deterrence. I suspect Alex Salmond
:10:04. > :10:10.will disagree with that. At the bottom we have Obama prepares to
:10:11. > :10:16.step up US role. A big speech tonight. 2am. I'm sure you will be
:10:17. > :10:21.up for it. I'll just be getting home. He has got a lot to cover in
:10:22. > :10:25.this speech because he has been saved quite some time that we don't
:10:26. > :10:30.want to get in Syria, but it looks like that is what is going to
:10:31. > :10:33.happen. He's also likely to say he does not need Congressional
:10:34. > :10:39.approval. Unlike the big chemical weapons in Syria, he will say I'm
:10:40. > :10:48.going to take the action on this without turning to Congress. We need
:10:49. > :10:55.to hear from him that he is going to defeat ISIS and ISIL and there has
:10:56. > :11:08.to be some sort of land for a post Assad Syria. Some would argue he
:11:09. > :11:13.made the wrong call on that one, in Syria. Once bitten, twice shy. He's
:11:14. > :11:18.going to make it clear he doesn't need Congressional support, but does
:11:19. > :11:22.have public backing after the beheading of those two American
:11:23. > :11:27.journalists. Strong backing. It was a misstep when he said they did not
:11:28. > :11:33.have a strategy. There has been a scramble to make up for that and
:11:34. > :11:48.tomorrow is a symbolic day, 9/11. It will have that impact as well. Very
