:00:00. > :00:00.Hamilton, the other is Welsh referee Nigel Owens taking charge of the

:00:00. > :00:14.rugby World Cup final. And Jose Mourinho is in

:00:15. > :00:17.Hello and welcome to our look ahead to what the papers

:00:18. > :00:21.With me are the former Sunday Express editor Eve Pollard

:00:22. > :00:49.Many leading on the defeat on tax credits in the House of Lords. The

:00:50. > :00:54.Times calls it a humiliating defeat. The Guardian say that a rapid review

:00:55. > :01:04.of the House of Lords is being launched. The daily Mirror along

:01:05. > :01:07.with many papers pictures the Duchess of Cambridge and Daniel

:01:08. > :01:11.Craig at the premiere of the latest James Bond movie. In the Daily Mail

:01:12. > :01:18.it says service men have been banned from joining a rally over a Royal

:01:19. > :01:27.Marine jailed for a battlefield murder. The daily express has the

:01:28. > :01:30.processed meat-macro story. And the Financial Times covers the story

:01:31. > :01:40.about a 15-year-old arrested over the TalkTalk cyber attack. The big

:01:41. > :01:45.story, drama in the House of Lords. That in itself would be a headline!

:01:46. > :01:50.Often you are watching and nodding off but in the mother of all

:01:51. > :01:59.Parliaments it is the mother and father of an argument. In the

:02:00. > :02:05.Guardian, PM's warning to peers after tax rebellion. It has become

:02:06. > :02:09.interesting. The House of Lords thing has become interesting. They

:02:10. > :02:13.fired half the hereditary is and it was going so well and in the last

:02:14. > :02:18.few months since the election, various people have gone to the

:02:19. > :02:22.House of Lords people are wondering what they are doing. I don't

:02:23. > :02:28.understand why there are so many more. 100 Lib Dem peers, which seems

:02:29. > :02:37.crazy where there are only eight MPs. The important people are those

:02:38. > :02:42.who are going to suffer. To be fair what George Osborne has said is, I

:02:43. > :02:47.have listened, I am listening, and I intend to help through a transition

:02:48. > :02:50.period. He has more or less been forced with the result of one of the

:02:51. > :02:59.votes tonight. Nicky Morgan said yesterday... The Education

:03:00. > :03:03.Secretary. Nothing could be worse than worrying about... You are not

:03:04. > :03:10.well paid and losing more than ?1000. I would be more concerned

:03:11. > :03:14.about this government and George Osborne's Fiori if this government

:03:15. > :03:25.has lifted a finger to reform the House of Lords. Went over the past

:03:26. > :03:30.six years they have. -- they have not done anything. If there were a

:03:31. > :03:36.Coalition Government still, would we be having this debate this evening?

:03:37. > :03:41.This is where you land up. He says, I'm listening, and I can still

:03:42. > :03:50.achieve what I want to achieve. My question is, why were you not

:03:51. > :03:57.achieving it before all this? We can look at the Guardian newspaper. PM

:03:58. > :04:02.warning to peers. It is two stories, the tax credit and the policy that

:04:03. > :04:07.affects people, but the constitutional issue. They are not

:04:08. > :04:11.elected. Often they have been people the voters have said no thank you,

:04:12. > :04:17.we don't want you, and they are sent up to the House of Lords. It is

:04:18. > :04:22.quite funny, really. It does seem a mess and if you know anybody in the

:04:23. > :04:29.House of Lords, they say there is no room for them. There seems to be

:04:30. > :04:35.thousands of them. It has not really interested David Cameron and George

:04:36. > :04:39.Osborne. House of Lords reform is a dull subject until something like

:04:40. > :04:44.this happens and the world explodes. They were not supposed to

:04:45. > :04:56.adjudicate on something about money. Since 1911. He is in a situation, I

:04:57. > :05:06.mean they have only just created a whole new raft of peers. And now he

:05:07. > :05:10.is saying we have to do have constitutionally a reconsideration

:05:11. > :05:15.of this matter. Will he put in a lot more. Or throw some out?

:05:16. > :05:20.Defenestration would be fun to watch! The House of Lords has been a

:05:21. > :05:25.mess since they got rid of the hereditary peers, who were slightly

:05:26. > :05:30.barking but some were great experts. Indeed. I take it you are not

:05:31. > :05:38.looking for places on those red benches. I would like the Ermine.

:05:39. > :05:45.Very flattering! The Financial Times, a lot of people will say,

:05:46. > :05:50.what?! We can only do the basic facts of the rest in the TalkTalk

:05:51. > :05:57.case, but it is extraordinary. These are torrid and now embarrassing

:05:58. > :06:01.times for TalkTalk. Yes, this 15-year-old and goodness knows what

:06:02. > :06:07.that is all about. The share price of TalkTalk, people are talking

:06:08. > :06:13.about the future of this company at all. He is a 15-year-old arrested in

:06:14. > :06:19.Northern Ireland with a joint operation between police on both

:06:20. > :06:23.sides of the water. But 15-year-olds are geniuses at computers. There was

:06:24. > :06:30.another boy we gladly did not send to America who got into the CIA or

:06:31. > :06:36.American army or something. They are geniuses at this. TalkTalk's

:06:37. > :06:39.reputation. They sent up the warnings and said things are

:06:40. > :06:48.terrible and then they say they are being blackmailed. And the poor old

:06:49. > :06:53.chief executive said no system is free from vulnerabilities. It is

:06:54. > :06:56.worrying. We do so much stuff online, I hope this makes everybody

:06:57. > :07:04.check their security. There has been an excuse to do that. We are

:07:05. > :07:12.rattling on. We might have more time at 11:30pm. The daily express, your

:07:13. > :07:16.old newspaper group. They love stories about house prices, weather

:07:17. > :07:26.and food. I did not use to do many of those. 75 years ago! Circulation

:07:27. > :07:32.of over 3 billion. Interesting. We are told to follow a Mediterranean

:07:33. > :07:38.diet. As far as I know the Mediterranean diet is full of ham,

:07:39. > :07:48.salami, and yet we are told -- circulation of 3 million. And now we

:07:49. > :07:53.are told these will kill us. But used to be like that. They are not

:07:54. > :07:58.saying it directly causes cancer, it can add to the risk. The daily

:07:59. > :08:03.express says foods like hotdogs bacon will be placed in the same

:08:04. > :08:11.category as plutonium and smoking as things that definitely cause cancer.

:08:12. > :08:14.I guess as all things it is moderation. I suppose if you have

:08:15. > :08:22.bacon this week it will not affect you, but if you have it every day...

:08:23. > :08:32.I was offered a sausage baguette. BBC canteen? No. On a Virgin train.

:08:33. > :08:38.I said no. I have read the daily express and I will not have it! He

:08:39. > :08:44.looked at me askance. I had always had it in the past. I was talking in

:08:45. > :08:54.an interview with a chap from America who has done a lot of work

:08:55. > :09:01.on it and he said that that being a vegetarian is not good. What is

:09:02. > :09:05.left. Red wine! People will look at this and say hang on. People eat a

:09:06. > :09:13.vast amount of this, no matter what the warnings. A bit of it probably

:09:14. > :09:16.does not hurt you and there is probably an enormous difference in

:09:17. > :09:23.the quality between some sausages and others and some bacon and

:09:24. > :09:26.others. People have been curing meat ever since time began and that is

:09:27. > :09:34.how it lasted through the winter and how you survived. There are GPs, my

:09:35. > :09:40.former GP now retired, said to me, what you need, David, is a good full

:09:41. > :09:46.English breakfast to cheer you up. I always remember that advice. He has

:09:47. > :09:56.retired, he is in good health? Very good health, I think. Let's get to

:09:57. > :10:00.serious matters. The Telegraph. A lovely picture of the Duchess of

:10:01. > :10:05.Cambridge looking fabulous. She is at the premiere at the Albert Hall,

:10:06. > :10:11.an interesting place to have it. You can squash a lot of people in there.

:10:12. > :10:24.Likewise on the front of The Daily Record, Monica Baluchi, 51. --

:10:25. > :10:30.Belluci. I am surprised you are not there. I am occasionally lucky to go

:10:31. > :10:31.to premiers. But it is much nicer to be wearing an old pair of jeans in

:10:32. > :10:40.the back-seat with your old People tell me there is too much

:10:41. > :10:45.violence in this film. It has been given five stars by everybody. And

:10:46. > :10:59.Sam Mendez, the last James Bond was a one. -- Mendes. He is a good

:11:00. > :11:05.director. He definitely is. I can tell you the ones I have seen every

:11:06. > :11:13.Christmas. Goldfinger, how many Christmas is running? I will stick

:11:14. > :11:19.with Daniel Craig. He does not look like a man who eats too many bacon

:11:20. > :11:24.sandwiches. Thank you very much. That is it from the papers this

:11:25. > :11:44.hour. We will take another look at them at 11:30pm. Next, sport.
