:00:00. > :00:13.minutes after the Papers. Hello and welcome to our look
:00:14. > :00:16.ahead to what the the papers With me are Emma Barnett, Women's
:00:17. > :00:33.Editor of the Telegraph and Kevin Welcome to both of you. The
:00:34. > :00:39.front-pages, The Independent said the permanent members of UN Security
:00:40. > :00:45.Council are ready to declare common war against Islamic State. And
:00:46. > :00:51.warnings Islamic State could be trying to obtain chemical weapons.
:00:52. > :00:56.European ministers are hoping to tighten Europe's border controls.
:00:57. > :01:06.The report into the collapse of HBOS is the lead story in the Times. The
:01:07. > :01:14.Metro says 98%, a reference to the number of junior doctors who have
:01:15. > :01:19.vote toed strike. That also makes the first front of The Guardian. The
:01:20. > :01:24.Times has a picture of the woman who is thought may have been the first
:01:25. > :01:32.female suicide bomber onnure seen soil. -- on European soil. Emma,
:01:33. > :01:36.kick us off with that striking headline in The Independent. Yes
:01:37. > :01:45.this is about the news that permanent members of the UN Security
:01:46. > :01:49.Council are poised to declare common war against Isil, which I feel
:01:50. > :01:53.grateful for. I don't know about anybody else, since Friday I have
:01:54. > :01:58.been wanting to hear some leadership and how we are going to stop what I
:01:59. > :02:02.hope won't be a reality of a similar attack on home soil here. What I
:02:03. > :02:09.think is fascinating is it talks about the fact that there is an
:02:10. > :02:15.alleged execution of a Chinese national, so Isil has slaughtered
:02:16. > :02:19.citizens of all five Security Council members. It seems like a
:02:20. > :02:24.slow awakening, and yet we have seen these attacks going on now for
:02:25. > :02:34.years. And you know now is the time to act. You still don't get the
:02:35. > :02:39.detail on how it will happen. The implication is there could be
:02:40. > :02:46.agreement. Yes the feeling until now was that Russia would veto and
:02:47. > :02:52.possibly Chinese would veto attempts to secure a UN resolution to
:02:53. > :02:58.authorise bombing of Syria, given Vladimir Putin is an ally of Assad,
:02:59. > :03:04.the Syrian leader. If there can be found a way that all five members
:03:05. > :03:09.could get around a common cause to bomb Isis, that would remove that
:03:10. > :03:14.barrier and then the Independent said what makes that interesting is
:03:15. > :03:20.that although David Cameron has said that he doesn't believe that we need
:03:21. > :03:27.another UN resolution to authorise UK involvement, it would put Labour
:03:28. > :03:32.and the SNP in a trickier spot. They have used the need for a UN Security
:03:33. > :03:40.Council resolution as a means of saying we won't support it unless.
:03:41. > :03:43.If there is a UN resolution, it throw is it on to Jeremy Corbyn and
:03:44. > :03:49.would he support it? It will be interesting. A lot of his supporters
:03:50. > :03:54.don't want war at any cost. Even if the UN support it. It would be
:03:55. > :04:00.interesting to see how it plays out. We will cover the coverage in other
:04:01. > :04:04.papers. The Times talked about the Paris ring leader. But also has the
:04:05. > :04:11.photograph of the woman who was with him. Who blew herself up. Yes. A
:04:12. > :04:17.26-year-old woman, who we believe is the first suicide bomber for Isis on
:04:18. > :04:23.European soil. 26 years of age. There is confusion about whether she
:04:24. > :04:27.was the cousin as well as the Jihadi bride of this master mind that has
:04:28. > :04:31.been confirmed to have been killed. What is interesting about this is
:04:32. > :04:36.Isis or Islamic State whatever you want to call it, when they have
:04:37. > :04:40.their rules for women and they put out the propaganda videos, this
:04:41. > :04:47.marks a departure for what women are meant to do. They're only meant to
:04:48. > :04:58.be there to state build and produce the next generation of Jihadis keep
:04:59. > :05:03.the home and go back to this. What is interesting having spoken to
:05:04. > :05:07.people who monitor this, they think it could be a turning point in women
:05:08. > :05:13.being used as fighters as well as men. She didn't break if rules. So
:05:14. > :05:17.Isis rules state a woman can only detonate herself or attack if she is
:05:18. > :05:22.under threats or needs to defends somebody else in the caliphate. She
:05:23. > :05:27.stuck to the rules. This explosion was so strong it is said her spine
:05:28. > :05:33.was out on the street after. So you know, this is is potentially
:05:34. > :05:38.strategically a different direction. Also the point about the four more
:05:39. > :05:42.attacks and the idea being we have somebody who the argument goes
:05:43. > :05:47.surely people should have known more about before last Friday. Well yes,
:05:48. > :05:52.and what is worrying is that it is mentioned in a couple of papers is
:05:53. > :05:57.that the French authorities were not informed of his presence on the the
:05:58. > :06:01.European mainland until three days after the attacks in Paris. So the
:06:02. > :06:06.French intelligence services who were aware of this man obviously,
:06:07. > :06:11.but were not told until three days later that he was actually in
:06:12. > :06:17.Europe. And obviously a major threat to French national security. So
:06:18. > :06:26.serious questions being raised about how h he could come and go. That
:06:27. > :06:35.takes us to The Guardian and talk of EU border controls. Yes, the
:06:36. > :06:40.political ram if ifications are potentially huge with the free
:06:41. > :06:46.movement and there is calls understandably for the external
:06:47. > :06:49.border of the so-called Schengen area to be tightened up to keep
:06:50. > :06:55.track of everyone who comes and goes throughout Europe. It seems that
:06:56. > :07:02.Abdelhamid Abaaoud was able to, he boasted of coming to and from Syria
:07:03. > :07:07.at least twice into Europe and then was able to co-ordinate these
:07:08. > :07:11.afabbings and make it into France and was planning a follow up to what
:07:12. > :07:20.happened on Friday in Paris before he was killed. What is concerning is
:07:21. > :07:25.he was on a migrant route, whether it is migrant or refugees, we seem
:07:26. > :07:30.to conflate the two, but the fact that he was able to abuse the route
:07:31. > :07:37.that people were taking to escape terror to come into Europe to create
:07:38. > :07:41.terror is a horribly perverse irony. That is obviously conflating two
:07:42. > :07:49.things which are plaguing Europe and plaguing people's lives and makes it
:07:50. > :07:54.more complicated to to have as a part of Europe these open borders.
:07:55. > :08:01.It is the issue about the whole, so many people coming, flee being
:08:02. > :08:07.terror, but the fear is among them maybe people who looking perpetrate
:08:08. > :08:12.terror. And what it might mean for freedom of movement within the EU.
:08:13. > :08:19.With see the rise of the far right and the national front in front are
:08:20. > :08:26.on the rise and their core belief is that France should regain control of
:08:27. > :08:32.its borders. That goes against the EU principles of freedom of movement
:08:33. > :08:41.a lot of these partives will - parties will gain popularity. The
:08:42. > :08:50.Express talks about Jihadist wanting to gas us. It feels very much like
:08:51. > :08:58.we are at war. I don't know if even else feels like that. Since what p
:08:59. > :09:04.had on Friday, and on Thursday in Beirut, 43 people died, on every
:09:05. > :09:09.front and you hear about gases. I am not sure what your meant do with
:09:10. > :09:17.that information. It is frightening and it is on The Express. But it is
:09:18. > :09:22.a frightening prospect and it is building on a layer of what are we
:09:23. > :09:28.going to do to responds. Now let's change the superintendent. Subject.
:09:29. > :09:36.The Metro, 98% is the number headline. And it is about junior
:09:37. > :09:47.doctor. It is a resounding result, the BMA strike ballot for junior
:09:48. > :09:57.doctors, 98% pack backing -- backing industrial arcs. Action. It shows
:09:58. > :10:02.the strength of feel and it is a vote of no confidence in Jeremy
:10:03. > :10:08.Hunt. It is the entire workforce of the NHS have turned agains him. Yet,
:10:09. > :10:14.it will put him in a difficult position, but this profession
:10:15. > :10:22.striking, they took a hipcratic oath not to put anybody at risk. If they
:10:23. > :10:32.go on strike there will be lives put at risk by their being a walk-out of
:10:33. > :10:36.essentially the NHS. And they still unlike teachers, interestingly,
:10:37. > :10:42.because they have done this before, I think the public are siven thetic
:10:43. > :10:48.and there -- sympathetic and there is good will when firemen go on
:10:49. > :10:53.strike there is a Huang reaction. Huge reaction. Do you think there is
:10:54. > :10:58.a sympathy. But what they're doing is risky. That might change if the
:10:59. > :11:03.action happens and people see the effect of it. Who knows? All these
:11:04. > :11:09.things are always, there is always... A resolution reached in
:11:10. > :11:16.any industrial dispute. So there will be one. It just dependses
:11:17. > :11:32.whether it is before strike. Now cats. You're not a cat lover. We
:11:33. > :11:38.have two cats. The Germans as efficient as ever, have decided that
:11:39. > :11:46.there is an over population of stray cat and they want to keep unneutered
:11:47. > :11:49.male cats on a leash. It is a fantastic idea that all animals
:11:50. > :11:54.should be on leads. The amount, I had a dog come up to this woman,
:11:55. > :12:04.having a picnic and lick my plate clean. Not acceptable. Letters to
:12:05. > :12:12.Emma Barnett on that one. That is it for Papers. We are back at 11.30.
:12:13. > :12:24.Coming up next it is Sports Tay. S Day.
:12:25. > :12:27.Hello, I'm Olly Foster, here's what's coming up
