:00:15. > :00:18.Hello and welcome to our look ahead to what the the papers will be

:00:19. > :00:23.With me are the deputy editor of the Daily Express,

:00:24. > :00:33.Michael Booker, and the financial commentator Louise Cooper.

:00:34. > :00:49.Tomorrow's front pages, starting with:

:00:50. > :01:01.Michael, which one will it be? It will be interesting. On the 9th of

:01:02. > :01:06.September, it will be the ballot. There are also claims this could be

:01:07. > :01:10.brought forward. The people who are backing Andrea Leadsom are saying if

:01:11. > :01:15.they can get out there and get nine weeks, imagine if it will go on nine

:01:16. > :01:20.weeks, but if there is nine weeks, they can get her message out, they

:01:21. > :01:25.can get home on to more members, they can get people's faces. A lot

:01:26. > :01:31.of these members will be Leave supporters as well from the

:01:32. > :01:35.referendum, so if they have got the time, nine weeks of this message

:01:36. > :01:42.constantly being hammered, she's the Brexit PM, she has got a far better

:01:43. > :01:47.chance. If it is a lot sooner, which is what the Tory party are trying to

:01:48. > :01:51.do, then it reflects better on Theresa May. It will be interesting

:01:52. > :01:56.because this is down to the 150,000 members of the Conservative Party.

:01:57. > :02:02.We don't know what they are thinking. We had a polling list

:02:03. > :02:09.earlier who said 50% are over 60, mostly men, and mostly middle-class.

:02:10. > :02:14.That does not surprise me at all. It is on the front page of every single

:02:15. > :02:20.paper. Would it not be extraordinary if we had two female candidates and

:02:21. > :02:25.the fact there were women is not commented upon? We have still got

:02:26. > :02:31.quite a long way to go, only one female Prime Minister. It would be

:02:32. > :02:39.really dull. And we have never had a female Chancellor. Given my area of

:02:40. > :02:43.expertise and the state of the economy and financial pressures on

:02:44. > :02:45.this country, I would like to know as soon as possible to the

:02:46. > :02:52.Chancellor is and what they will do with the fiscal plans and economic

:02:53. > :02:57.plans. But we are not finding that out yet. I quite like the guy

:02:58. > :03:03.because there is handy cutout guide for which the two lady stand for.

:03:04. > :03:07.Andrea Leadsom, marriage should be kept between a man and a woman,

:03:08. > :03:13.wants to overturn the fox hunting ban, it seems like she's going back,

:03:14. > :03:20.winding the clock back years. She is aiming at the traditionalist. Hence

:03:21. > :03:25.your headline in the express, baton of the iron ladies. Did you write

:03:26. > :03:36.that one? I had something to do with that! One of them will be the next

:03:37. > :03:40.Prime Minister. Looking at the two main parties, the Conservative

:03:41. > :03:45.Party, I keep on making this point, they are the ones we have had

:03:46. > :03:49.before, another woman Prime Minister, why are Labour not so

:03:50. > :03:53.progressive as we are? It is something for the Labour Party to

:03:54. > :04:01.look at as well. The Tories are very proud of this. It is fascinating to

:04:02. > :04:06.see what will happen over the next, hopefully not nine weeks! I think we

:04:07. > :04:11.got that message. Andrea Leadsom is not very experienced. I don't think

:04:12. > :04:16.this should be a Brexit issue because we've with that, or I think

:04:17. > :04:20.we have, and we are heading out of the EU. It should be who is best for

:04:21. > :04:24.the country, not just best the Brexit. This will be hard for a lot

:04:25. > :04:31.of people to get their heads around, particularly those members who for

:04:32. > :04:35.them it is all about Brexit. It says here, Theresa May says, I want to

:04:36. > :04:40.unite the country, which given how much animosity there has been on

:04:41. > :04:45.both sides of the referendum debate, she was a remain but a reluctant

:04:46. > :04:52.remainder. So hopefully, that will be a better position for the country

:04:53. > :04:57.rather than somebody who fought locally and physically to leave. If

:04:58. > :05:02.you turned the times, they say Andrea Leadsom steps from the

:05:03. > :05:07.shadows to take on May. It has been meteoric rise, huge achievement to

:05:08. > :05:13.get to where she was from relative obscurity. And it was the Leave

:05:14. > :05:20.campaign where she stood out and did a very good job. They must be very

:05:21. > :05:25.happy with her. Having said that, economic lien financially, the UK is

:05:26. > :05:28.in a typical place, and what we need is leadership and I do not think we

:05:29. > :05:32.should be waiting nine weeks. I think we should get on with make the

:05:33. > :05:36.decision now. We want the Chancellor in place that we know will be there

:05:37. > :05:40.for a long time. I do not think we have the time because an eight or

:05:41. > :05:46.nine weeks' time, the UK economy could be looking worse than it is

:05:47. > :05:51.now. When we saw Tony Blair yesterday, like him or loathe him,

:05:52. > :05:58.the decision he made to go to war, huge decisions like that, left in

:05:59. > :06:03.the hands of someone like Andrea Leadsom, who has virtually no

:06:04. > :06:07.experience whatsoever, I had not heard of the month ago particularly,

:06:08. > :06:11.it shames me a little for my knowledge, but most people had not.

:06:12. > :06:15.There was one debate where she did very well and then carried on

:06:16. > :06:20.campaigning for Leave but I am sure she is a very good MP and good

:06:21. > :06:25.energy minister but is that Prime Minister? She worked in the City of

:06:26. > :06:32.London. You could not say, I have got skills for politics, can I be

:06:33. > :06:42.the CEO please? Theresa May is ideal. She has got more experience.

:06:43. > :06:49.Interesting Daily Telegraph. I love that! If you want something said,

:06:50. > :06:53.ask a man, if you want something done, ask a woman, Margaret

:06:54. > :07:00.Thatcher. They have also got cartoon pair of two old blokes playing golf,

:07:01. > :07:05.probably poor Tory members, saying, only men can be members, a woman's

:07:06. > :07:12.places running the country. We have female boss of the federal reserve,

:07:13. > :07:20.a female boss of the International monetary fund, Angela Merkel, we

:07:21. > :07:25.have got... Nicola Sturgeon. Women running the country! Research has

:07:26. > :07:28.been done on this. It is not glass ceiling, it's another term, but when

:07:29. > :07:32.companies are failing in doing badly, a woman is more likely to get

:07:33. > :07:38.the job because all the blokes stand back and do not want it, so the only

:07:39. > :07:42.time a woman can become CEO was when companies doing badly. And I

:07:43. > :07:46.sometimes wonder if that is the reason why we have got so many women

:07:47. > :07:51.in positions of political power! It is such an awful mess to clear up.

:07:52. > :08:02.When in times of trouble, we run the money. I just want to and finally...

:08:03. > :08:10.Theresa May has a beautiful pair of shoes. You are giving us a sense of

:08:11. > :08:16.your inner stylish woman. How would you know about women's shoes? To

:08:17. > :08:23.complete the gender stereotypes, I would talk to you about... Back page

:08:24. > :08:29.of the express, grease lightning, because Anton Grisman has sent

:08:30. > :08:32.France into the final. After what Francis had, it's fantastic for them

:08:33. > :08:42.to finish in the final against Portugal. I am sure will be very

:08:43. > :08:50.emotional. I am sad. I had a sweepstake on Germany in the office!

:08:51. > :08:55.That and Michael Gove, it will be a Michael good Christmas T-shirt I

:08:56. > :09:01.bought! On that note, thank you both. That is it for tonight. These

:09:02. > :09:07.front pages of coming while we have been on air. The sun is backing the

:09:08. > :09:17.Home Secretary. Their headline, a play on her name. The Guardian has

:09:18. > :09:23.decided to only put a smiling Andrea Leadsom. And the Star sticks the

:09:24. > :09:28.shots of both candidates. Here come the girls, it says. And in the

:09:29. > :09:34.mirror, warning, likening Andrea Leadsom to Mrs Thatcher, its

:09:35. > :09:43.headline, Maggie two. Be afraid, be very afraid. Don't forget, the front

:09:44. > :09:45.pages on the BBC News website. Michael, Louise, pleasure to talk to

:09:46. > :09:49.you. Thank you very much.
