:00:00. > :00:19.Hello and welcome to our look ahead to what the the papers will be

:00:20. > :00:22.With me are Robert Fox, who's Defence Editor

:00:23. > :00:24.at the London Evening Standard, and the former Conservative

:00:25. > :00:27.Tomorrow's front pages, starting with -

:00:28. > :00:30.the Daily Telegraph leads on analysis by the Health Service

:00:31. > :00:33.Journal of plans to close A and E units in England

:00:34. > :00:38.It reports that up to one in six casualty departments face closure.

:00:39. > :00:41.Health is also the focus of the Times' lead story -

:00:42. > :00:46.It reports that hospitals will be legally obliged to charge foreign

:00:47. > :00:50.patients - before they're allowed access to NHS health care.

:00:51. > :00:53.The Express also leads with the crackdown on health tourism

:00:54. > :00:55.writing that the responsibility will lie with hospitals to charge

:00:56. > :00:59.foreign nationals wanting medical treatment.

:01:00. > :01:05.Rent Revolution - that's the headline on the front

:01:06. > :01:08.of the Metro, referring to a shift in tone by the Conservatives'

:01:09. > :01:11.from their 'right to buy' policy, towards affordable homes to rent.

:01:12. > :01:15.The FT has a picture of the French far right leader Marine Le Pen -

:01:16. > :01:17.as she launched her presidential bid today.

:01:18. > :01:20.But the newspaper leads with comments from some leaders

:01:21. > :01:25.from Britain's biggest companies warning that companies are already

:01:26. > :01:28.The Guardian looks at the controversial travel ban imposed

:01:29. > :01:31.by Donald Trump, but rejected by a US appeals court.

:01:32. > :01:35.And staying with Trump - the I reports that some Mps

:01:36. > :01:38.And staying with Trump - the I reports that some MPs

:01:39. > :01:41.are threatening to boycott a state visit by the US president.

:01:42. > :01:44.Blackmailing Beckham - The Mirror reports on an apparent

:01:45. > :01:49.one million pound plot over hacked emails from David Beckham.

:01:50. > :01:59.Plot, it is a word only journalists use. Let's start with Marine Le Pen,

:02:00. > :02:06.one of several French president shall hopefuls who launched their

:02:07. > :02:13.campaign this weekend. Leon seems to be the city of choice. Marine Le Pen

:02:14. > :02:22.joint election race by attacking globalisation. Her support base have

:02:23. > :02:30.made her so popular and put the and enviable position and it reminds us

:02:31. > :02:38.of how you keep managed to appeal to a desperate group of people. --

:02:39. > :02:45.Ukip. She is saying she is freeing them of globalisation, Islamic

:02:46. > :02:49.fundamentalism and European Union. What is at stake in this election is

:02:50. > :02:55.that the continuity of France as a free nation, the very existence of

:02:56. > :03:01.our people. She is reaching out, you were saying, you have a sense of

:03:02. > :03:07.what is going on on the ground whereas I reading what is on the

:03:08. > :03:11.papers. People say she will win in round one but not round super you

:03:12. > :03:18.are saying in the central parts of France people feeling more connected

:03:19. > :03:24.with her? The equivalent of the rustbelt where the old industrial

:03:25. > :03:30.Park, new industries came in at the end of the wall, an interesting

:03:31. > :03:39.survey in the New York Times in the international European edition,

:03:40. > :03:48.going through a number of towns and cities and small villages, very

:03:49. > :03:53.mixed but the swing was absolutely palpable of traditional,

:03:54. > :03:58.conservative supporters saying she is the one. Watching the television

:03:59. > :04:07.footage of her rally, she had written across the screen the simple

:04:08. > :04:16.slogan - in the name of the people. That is Trump, that is Nigel Farage.

:04:17. > :04:23.Very successful, charismatic banker but will be much together and it is

:04:24. > :04:29.not the same thing and he is part of the elite she is talking to,

:04:30. > :04:36.Emmanuel Macron. She is saying the use of the failed by Muslim women is

:04:37. > :04:43.a threat to French culture and values. That is nothing new. It is

:04:44. > :04:52.not that it is not going to unify everyone. She once the distance

:04:53. > :04:58.herself from her father, the founder of the party. She is reaching out

:04:59. > :05:05.beyond that and looking at the footage from the BBC coverage, who

:05:06. > :05:11.was in the audience? Students, teachers, private and is. They are

:05:12. > :05:24.saying this is the woman who can take us through. -- private and

:05:25. > :05:34.public set this. Now the reason the scandal by Francois Fillon. He is

:05:35. > :05:42.fading away and that what you have is the outsiders coming forward but

:05:43. > :05:48.they are both political... They have been around a lot and they are

:05:49. > :05:53.coming forward. Is her thing about the EU and she is saying she wants

:05:54. > :05:59.French citizens to feel French again, she wants the European Union

:06:00. > :06:06.to be a union of Nations, very much in the John Major, David Cameron

:06:07. > :06:12.view and Emmanuel Macron says, no, we come together, the big project of

:06:13. > :06:18.the ever coming together and I think that will be a real division and you

:06:19. > :06:26.are getting a big swing away. Before the Brexit debate, according to an

:06:27. > :06:35.analysis, more French were opposed to the EU than in the British

:06:36. > :06:41.electorate so watch out. Yes, she will win first round and lose on the

:06:42. > :06:50.second, do not count on it. You heard it from Mr Fox, remember. In

:06:51. > :07:02.the Times, one in six wards facing axe to try and save some money which

:07:03. > :07:11.is extraordinary how overcrowded some hospitals are. It looks as if

:07:12. > :07:18.they are trying to look to rebalance services but at the same time they

:07:19. > :07:26.are saying to close a hole in the budget as well. It is a big hole. It

:07:27. > :07:31.is but more and more money has gone in. It seems to be demand is

:07:32. > :07:39.outgrowing the extra amount of money. Whether it is people's

:07:40. > :07:46.expectations, people living longer, the pharmaceutical industry, what

:07:47. > :07:54.ever it is, we need to look at it. Instead of a tribal divide, people

:07:55. > :07:58.are saying what are we going to do. In more recent years, the actual

:07:59. > :08:07.amount of money spent on the NHS has gone down. Slightly more than the

:08:08. > :08:12.GDP we were spending before. The amount NHS England said they needed

:08:13. > :08:15.was handed to them when David Cameron and George Osborne came in.

:08:16. > :08:22.The next ?20 million was given to them. Foreign patients to pay up

:08:23. > :08:27.front for NHS care. Hospitals will be legally obliged to try to recover

:08:28. > :08:33.this money but if somebody comes in and really need attention, do you

:08:34. > :08:40.present them with a credit card machine? Exactly. It is so

:08:41. > :08:46.difficult. With so many of these ideas, one understands why it they

:08:47. > :08:53.are saying it but it is a question of enforcement. How are you going to

:08:54. > :08:59.check? Emergency care is something different, surely. From the

:09:00. > :09:15.Telegraph, a black all of 22 million. But 500 million in The

:09:16. > :09:22.Times. It you do not pay into this in system you cannot expect to be

:09:23. > :09:27.using it. We do not know because nobody has ever been a really

:09:28. > :09:33.questioned at the front desk. It could EA significant figure. You

:09:34. > :09:41.have the said proof of eligibility is needed. People pay. People having

:09:42. > :09:47.hospital treatment delayed or cancelled and somewhat coming in

:09:48. > :09:54.from abroad is taking their place. Lots of inequality. People will have

:09:55. > :10:01.to pay. In the Daily Mail, this idea, the emphasis being on renting

:10:02. > :10:06.rather than home ownership. Downsizing revolution. The desperate

:10:07. > :10:13.minister saying you will be given incentives to free up your homes -

:10:14. > :10:18.what incentives? Exactly. He doesn't sound pretty desperate. The quotes

:10:19. > :10:24.are not really fit what he seems to be trying to say. The Housing

:10:25. > :10:29.Minister saying to people like me, you do not have your children at

:10:30. > :10:36.home but you may have other things, squirrels in the roof, a computer,

:10:37. > :10:44.you have to downsize. What is the incentive to get out? To go into

:10:45. > :10:50.sheltered accommodation! A healthy sector should nary an aura even in

:10:51. > :11:00.the 80s, that is a fully shut statement. --A healthy 70-year-old.

:11:01. > :11:05.People live much older. Many of us can expect to live into your 90s and

:11:06. > :11:12.you are suddenly expect that with horrendous daily deals. Is this an

:11:13. > :11:18.end to the conservative mantra, almost, home ownership for everybody

:11:19. > :11:23.is gone for good? Everybody still despise to home ownership but what

:11:24. > :11:31.we have got is not a single silver bullet to solve the problem on

:11:32. > :11:36.housing affordability. 300,000 extra people coming in a year. We have to

:11:37. > :11:44.house of them. We have said for years we need to build more homes.

:11:45. > :11:49.Not enough houses and inbuilt. Most people in their home have thought

:11:50. > :11:56.about downsizing if they can release the money. You have to help with the

:11:57. > :12:04.rent costs. Build more housing. That is the only way forward but Margaret

:12:05. > :12:11.Thatcher... It has moved on. A different solution. It is a

:12:12. > :12:16.different country. Rebel attacks and all sorts of ingenious amendments

:12:17. > :12:26.tabled to put a spanner in the works? Over 100 amendments and some

:12:27. > :12:39.of the ones where people are trying to apply - one that Brexit can be

:12:40. > :12:50.treated as if Cardiff airport. People have said we want Brexit...

:12:51. > :12:56.That people have spoken. Like any other democratic vote, the majority.

:12:57. > :13:05.A slight margin. What about the minority? Do we not have a

:13:06. > :13:15.democracy? You are all Remainers said he did not quite get... I... I

:13:16. > :13:21.agree with you but this marking around with amendments is complete

:13:22. > :13:31.nonsense. What are these people, they are growing smoke... Do not say

:13:32. > :13:38.that word. This is where our Prime Minister has to say, we need to see

:13:39. > :13:43.what is going to come out in the detail, it is the devil in the

:13:44. > :13:49.details. Sorry to coin and other... Thinking of Marine Le Pen and the

:13:50. > :13:57.elections in Europe, Europe is going to be a very, very different place

:13:58. > :14:02.by the end of the year. I can with cliches but not vulgarities, even at

:14:03. > :14:08.this time. I apologise. We are sensitive, aren't we here at the

:14:09. > :14:19.papers! All the front pages are online.

:14:20. > :14:27.Each night's edition of the papers is posted on the page shortly after

:14:28. > :14:29.we finish. No excuses for not being up-to-date. Coming up next, The Film

:14:30. > :14:33.Review.
