:00:19. > :00:25.Good evening, welcome to the look ahead to what the papers will be
:00:26. > :00:28.bringing us tomorrow. I enjoyed by the political commentator Lance
:00:29. > :00:33.Price and Alison little they get the political editor of the Daily
:00:34. > :00:37.Express. Tomorrow's front pages starting with the Financial Times
:00:38. > :00:41.which leads with police looking for a terror network and possible links
:00:42. > :00:45.to Libya and Syria following the Manchester attack. The Metro shows
:00:46. > :00:50.an image of troops taking to the streets following Theresa May's
:00:51. > :00:55.warning of an imminent terror attack on British soil, The Guardian has
:00:56. > :00:58.one of the pictures supposedly from the forensic investigation published
:00:59. > :01:04.by the New York Times. It purports to show the bomb used in the attack.
:01:05. > :01:09.The Daily Telegraph reports on the Manchester attacker being flagged up
:01:10. > :01:13.to authorities multiple times over his extremist views. The Daily
:01:14. > :01:21.Express reports on the deployment of troops across the country.
:01:22. > :01:33.The Times reports that authorities were warned of the bombers extremist
:01:34. > :01:38.views by a relative. And pictures of the attacker 's brother arrested in
:01:39. > :01:44.Libya earlier today. Only one story on the front pages, I wonder if we
:01:45. > :01:48.can start in a sense, rather than with the text but with the images
:01:49. > :01:53.and an almost every front page is an image of troops on UK streets. What
:01:54. > :02:00.are your feelings looking at these pictures? Personally I find it
:02:01. > :02:07.rather learning, it does not make me feel safe, it flags up there is a
:02:08. > :02:10.crisis, we are almost at war which I think is part of the point of them
:02:11. > :02:15.being there, they are designed to reassure, these soldiers are around
:02:16. > :02:19.in Whitehall and at the moment they are a bit of a novelty and people
:02:20. > :02:22.are interested in seeing them because thankfully from my point of
:02:23. > :02:30.view we are not used to seeing them on our own streets. In other
:02:31. > :02:35.European capitals. Yes, and we tend to see our own soldiers deployed on
:02:36. > :02:42.TV in other countries. We don't tend to see them round here. We don't
:02:43. > :02:46.normally see armed police on the streets either. We have a
:02:47. > :02:51.principally an armed police force to CC weapons and the sort of
:02:52. > :02:56.extraordinary looking machine guns... And the equipment we have
:02:57. > :03:00.got... It's a shock to the system, but that is what it is designed to
:03:01. > :03:04.be, they are therefore two reasons, they clearly have a role to play and
:03:05. > :03:10.if the threat level is as high as we are told and there is a possibility
:03:11. > :03:14.of another attack at any point then you mobilise any defences you have
:03:15. > :03:19.got. But I think they are also they are for reassurance and I think the
:03:20. > :03:22.government and security services will be pleased to see these
:03:23. > :03:25.pictures on the front pages because that's the message they want to send
:03:26. > :03:29.out and the reason they were marching down Downing Street as we
:03:30. > :03:38.saw earlier today is that this is the picture they want to see. They
:03:39. > :03:42.are going to be static, they will be outside buildings, we are not going
:03:43. > :03:46.to be seeing them marching around on the streets. Hopefully not, and if
:03:47. > :03:50.we see them running we are in trouble. The idea is they will do
:03:51. > :03:55.static guarding to give the police more time to do the stuff only the
:03:56. > :03:59.police can do. And the real work of course, that's going to be done by
:04:00. > :04:02.the intelligence services, continuing to be done by the
:04:03. > :04:06.intelligence services and the police who are doing everything they can to
:04:07. > :04:13.see if there is a sale and where that threat might come from. These
:04:14. > :04:18.guys cannot help with that but they can protect some of the iconic
:04:19. > :04:22.places in the country that might be a target. Let's take a quick look at
:04:23. > :04:27.the front page of The Guardian as it has the other striking image of the
:04:28. > :04:40.day, photographs supposedly of the bomb used in Manchester published in
:04:41. > :04:46.the New York Times. It's certainly, this is supposed to be our strongest
:04:47. > :04:51.ally, these pictures turning up. Amber Rudd this morning said she was
:04:52. > :04:55.a bit irritated, very British, irritated that the Americans named a
:04:56. > :05:04.suspect before the British police were ready to do so. And now there
:05:05. > :05:08.are pictures from the police investigation. Nobody has denied the
:05:09. > :05:15.from that. Quite distressing pictures, you can see blood and the
:05:16. > :05:20.detail. Theresa May will be seeing President Trump at the Nato summit
:05:21. > :05:23.in Brussels tomorrow and as journalists and as British people we
:05:24. > :05:27.would love to see a huge bust up over this. We don't seem to be
:05:28. > :05:33.blooming Trump himself but if they are supposed to be our best friend
:05:34. > :05:36.they have a funny way of showing it. It's extraordinary, unprecedented,
:05:37. > :05:41.that a serious investigation should be compromised by a leak from the
:05:42. > :05:45.American intelligence, law enforcement agencies which is
:05:46. > :05:49.clearly what has happened. I don't think you can exaggerate the degree
:05:50. > :05:58.of puree there will be in Downing Street and Scotland Yard that this
:05:59. > :06:02.has happened. At every single level, and it will be from Theresa May, to
:06:03. > :06:08.the president, at every level they will be making it absolutely clear
:06:09. > :06:12.this potentially compromises the investigation carried out which is
:06:13. > :06:16.very serious indeed. Also of course how do you think the families of
:06:17. > :06:21.those who are still fighting for their lives feel when they see
:06:22. > :06:26.pictures like this? OK, much more on all of this at 11:30pm, I know you
:06:27. > :06:31.will come back with a more detailed look at those front pages. Breaking
:06:32. > :06:36.news to bring you know which is that a seventh person has been arrested
:06:37. > :06:39.in connection with the bombing after searches in central England. A
:06:40. > :06:42.seventh person arrested here in the UK. Let's take a look at the
:06:43. > :06:43.weather.
