:00:07. > :00:09.Hello, this is BBC News with Nicholas Owen.

:00:10. > :00:12.We'll be taking a look at tomorrow mornings papers in a moment,

:00:13. > :00:18.The BBC's Director General, Lord Hall, says he'll go further

:00:19. > :00:25.He was responding to a letter by high-profile female personalities

:00:26. > :00:29.who have called on the corporation to "act now".

:00:30. > :00:31.A 20-year-old man has died after being apprehended

:00:32. > :00:34.by a police officer in an east London shop.

:00:35. > :00:39.He's been been named by his family as Rashan Jermaine Charles.

:00:40. > :00:41.Prince William and Prince Harry, have spoken candidly

:00:42. > :00:43.about their relationship with their mother, Princess Diana,

:00:44. > :00:45.in a documentary marking the twentieth anniversary

:00:46. > :01:04.Hello and welcome to our look ahead to what the papers

:01:05. > :01:07.With me are the Author and Broadcaster, Natalie Haynes,

:01:08. > :01:12.and Rob Merrick, Deputy Political Editor at The Independent.

:01:13. > :01:19.the Telegraph says NHS bosses have ordered a review,

:01:20. > :01:21.after warnings that plans to cut down on A numbers

:01:22. > :01:28.Jeremy Corbyn's interview today with the BBC is the top story

:01:29. > :01:31.for the Metro, which focuses on his denial that he promised

:01:32. > :01:38.The Mail has the same lead - it says the Labour leader

:01:39. > :01:41.was "humiliated" into admitting he didn't know how much

:01:42. > :01:46.The Mirror's top story is the search for Ben Needham -

:01:47. > :01:50.it reports that new evidence has been found.

:01:51. > :01:53.The Eye leads with cyber attacks on the NHS -

:01:54. > :01:57.it says Britain is losing the fight against internet criminals.

:01:58. > :02:00.The FT reports two Wall Street bosses have seen the values

:02:01. > :02:07.of their shareholdings soar after the election of Donald Trump.

:02:08. > :02:12.And the Times has a picture of cricketer Anya Shrubsole

:02:13. > :02:15.celebrating England's triumph over India in the world cup final.

:02:16. > :02:36.Naturally, we start with The Guardian and doctors warning of

:02:37. > :02:42.soaring alcohol deaths? Almost 63,000 people in England, just

:02:43. > :02:47.England, not the UK. They will die of liver problems, including liver

:02:48. > :02:56.cancer and other liver problems related to alcohol. It is about

:02:57. > :03:03.12,000 lives a year, those deaths have risen by 400% since 1970s so,

:03:04. > :03:11.essentially, everything that you think is covered in this story. We

:03:12. > :03:17.drink too much, cheap alcohol is problematic and obesity is also a

:03:18. > :03:23.huge problem. Charities and medical people saying something has to be

:03:24. > :03:27.done here. It seems minimum unit pricing to be brought in and this

:03:28. > :03:37.issue has been around for years and it was pressed on David Cameron and

:03:38. > :03:43.let's face said he did not do much about it and I cannot believe

:03:44. > :03:49.Theresa May is not going to be any stronger on this issue. It is the

:03:50. > :03:54.price in supermarkets that is the problem and without a legal limit,

:03:55. > :04:00.people will stock up and drink far too much. Things different in

:04:01. > :04:07.Scotland? They talked about introducing a minimum unit price but

:04:08. > :04:12.you can't do it legally as a member of the European Union but there is

:04:13. > :04:20.an old joke that if you don't drink you don't live any longer, it just

:04:21. > :04:26.feels like it, but that is not true. On the Telegraph, again about

:04:27. > :04:35.health. Talking about this earlier. Said case in Bristol but it seems to

:04:36. > :04:47.have overturned some reform. --A sad case. Front door streaming. A

:04:48. > :04:58.department under instruction from government, trying to weed out

:04:59. > :05:07.people that don't need to be on -- in the A This case, maybe a

:05:08. > :05:17.terrible mistake was made because a man later dying and because of that

:05:18. > :05:24.there is now a review. Perhaps A will not be able to act in this way

:05:25. > :05:29.to cut numbers. It is a bit surprising, it was GPs looking...

:05:30. > :05:38.Random people who wanted up off the street... Sorry. They make mistakes.

:05:39. > :05:48.Everybody makes mistakes and doctors aren't perfect and I ensure they

:05:49. > :05:54.would not say so. The winter is where A the most overfilled. The

:05:55. > :06:04.review will not report back until next year. Things will have to in

:06:05. > :06:08.mind, do you really have to go to A and if they did they will have

:06:09. > :06:17.to stand their ground. The front page of the Telegraph, you are

:06:18. > :06:22.saying you are not a chicken eater. I am not. It is like a feathery tiny

:06:23. > :06:35.dinosaur... A debate for another time. Not the most riveting of

:06:36. > :06:42.headlines. The trade Secretary trying to start trade talks with the

:06:43. > :06:48.US and what it would mean. We may have to accept food of lower

:06:49. > :06:54.standards. That chicken you might want to eat would be washed in

:06:55. > :07:00.chlorine, and your crops may be genetically modified. Will he be

:07:01. > :07:07.able to sell it to British consumers? We talked about the big

:07:08. > :07:15.but in this. Michael Gove and Andrea Leadsom do not like it. Lots of

:07:16. > :07:23.people might think the issue whether we eat chicken said in chlorine is

:07:24. > :07:27.not the most important debate about Brexit but we have to accept if we

:07:28. > :07:33.end up rushing into a trade deal with America, they will be desperate

:07:34. > :07:44.to get into our market and the issue is whether we will have to concede

:07:45. > :07:53.that American firms can take action in courts. I think we are a long way

:07:54. > :07:59.away from the trade deal with the US because we cannot do it until we

:08:00. > :08:05.leave the EU. They are arguing about chlorine soaked chicken makes a

:08:06. > :08:20.difference from running around as headless chickens. The really good

:08:21. > :08:26.subs on these things. The Daily Mail front page - Corbyn student debt

:08:27. > :08:32.humiliation. The Daily Mail to like their big slamming headline but it

:08:33. > :08:39.is an intriguing story. As a result of an interview with Andrew Marr

:08:40. > :08:44.this morning. They would be rubbing their hands in glee. The story of

:08:45. > :08:50.the last few months has been endless U-turns by Theresa May but here we

:08:51. > :08:57.have the Labour leader doing a U-turn. He now says he will deal

:08:58. > :09:04.with the problem of the debt of students who paid the 9000 feet

:09:05. > :09:10.introduced a few years ago, without explaining now. It was embarrassing

:09:11. > :09:16.that he did not know how much it would cost, ?100 million which

:09:17. > :09:23.nobody can afford. Of course, quite a lot of young people voted for

:09:24. > :09:27.Corbyn because of this promise made on fees and he is betraying them. I

:09:28. > :09:33.wonder whether more young people voted Labour because of what they

:09:34. > :09:39.thought Labour stood for in terms of Brexit. Overwhelmingly young people

:09:40. > :09:44.are against leading to the EU. He seemed to have a softer line but in

:09:45. > :09:48.this interview he confirmed stronger than before that he fear was Prime

:09:49. > :09:55.Minister he would leave the single market and his policy on Brexit is

:09:56. > :09:59.not that different to the government and wonder if that is not a bigger

:10:00. > :10:05.betrayal to young people. I imagine the student debt thing really was

:10:06. > :10:11.the turning point to young people supporting Jeremy Corbyn. Likely

:10:12. > :10:19.from me, I got through university before the feast Kamin and I rightly

:10:20. > :10:27.the person they should despise and resent but I am on their side. I

:10:28. > :10:31.think the 9000 pounds is too much. Interest rates at teeny tiny and 70%

:10:32. > :10:38.of students will not pay off their debt. It seems like an enormous

:10:39. > :10:41.waste of time and energy in order to make people miserable and stress for

:10:42. > :10:48.decades rather than minutes. The Financial Times that now, we mention

:10:49. > :10:54.looking earlier on, looking at war Street bankers enjoying an enormous

:10:55. > :11:06.win, shares going up in value since Donald Trump was a late but the

:11:07. > :11:13.story I want to focus on -- elected. This is intriguing. The world is

:11:14. > :11:27.smallest violin is our plan around the country. -- world's. We all have

:11:28. > :11:34.anecdotal evidence that backs this up. We have watched friends of move

:11:35. > :11:40.out of London, reasonable distances, the cities that are 200 miles away,

:11:41. > :11:48.because they cannot afford to live here and it is a boring, depressing

:11:49. > :11:56.consequence, quite aside that it is breaking us Paul paying our rent and

:11:57. > :11:59.mortgages, and our friends are all leaving. I thought it would have an

:12:00. > :12:06.effect the housing market beyond London but it means demand goes up

:12:07. > :12:11.elsewhere. All these economic consequences are not always what

:12:12. > :12:17.might be foreseen. Anyone who lives in London knows of people leaving

:12:18. > :12:22.for this reason. People in their 30s perhaps the largest group surveyed

:12:23. > :12:29.and they are found to be leaving. People used to live in their 30s

:12:30. > :12:35.because they believe the schools in London won't any good, now the

:12:36. > :12:40.schools in London a better than most and there is another reason why they

:12:41. > :12:46.have to leave. I was lucky enough to buy in London about 15 or more years

:12:47. > :12:51.ago and you feel guilty because you see people 1015 years younger than

:12:52. > :12:59.you and they have no chance and they would have to leave to own a home.

:13:00. > :13:04.Enormous number of flats going up at overseas buyers seem to be taking

:13:05. > :13:09.them rather than people... You only have to walk past them in a winter

:13:10. > :13:19.months and you see the lights aren't on. It happens in places in Canada.

:13:20. > :13:36.Vancouver. Nobody seems brave enough to grasp it. We look forward... The

:13:37. > :13:42.Times and everybody else, FrontPage, a jubilant England woman cricketer

:13:43. > :13:49.because they did have a stunning victory against India at Lord's. I

:13:50. > :13:53.walk past laws earlier and you could hear that she is of a packed house

:13:54. > :14:02.and it is a terrific story and that is a terrific photograph by anyone's

:14:03. > :14:16.standard. Anya Shrubsole, absolutely great. Grasping the wind from the

:14:17. > :14:27.jaws of defeat. 40 years of trying and we have now won it. They are

:14:28. > :14:30.probably really badly paid and so at least there's that.
