:00:15. > :00:18.Hello and welcome to our look ahead to what the the papers will be

:00:19. > :00:21.With me are Reuters Business Correspondent, Tom Bergin,

:00:22. > :00:26.at the Institute of Economic Affairs.

:00:27. > :00:30.The Daily Telegraph says Brexit negotiators have been accused

:00:31. > :00:35.of trying to "ram through" a ?36 billion divorce bill

:00:36. > :00:37.while most of the Cabinet is on holiday.

:00:38. > :00:40.The picture shows Jessica Ennis-Hill collecting her 2011

:00:41. > :00:43.World Championship heptathlon gold medal earlier this evening,

:00:44. > :00:46.after the original winner was banned for doping.

:00:47. > :00:53.The Times reports record levels of violence and abuse

:00:54. > :00:55.against vulnerable patients at mental health trusts

:00:56. > :00:57.were reported last year, amid accusations of "endemic" use

:00:58. > :01:03.The Guardian says 13 areas of England have restricted

:01:04. > :01:08.or completely halted IVF treatment for women since the start

:01:09. > :01:11.of the year, with a further eight consulting on taking similar steps.

:01:12. > :01:14.The FT says Financial institutions have paid more than $150 billion

:01:15. > :01:17.in fines in the US, relating to the credit crisis.

:01:18. > :01:20.Four in 10 care homes failed inspections this year which means

:01:21. > :01:22.70,000 elderly residents are at risk,

:01:23. > :01:29.The Metro features the British model who was kidnapped in Milan and says

:01:30. > :01:35.And The Sun goes with the same story and says the model has described

:01:36. > :01:38.how she was drugged and stuffed into a suitcase.

:01:39. > :01:54.a couple of health-related stories to look at. Looking at different

:01:55. > :02:01.problems in parts of the NHS. In the Times, abuse of mental patient

:02:02. > :02:08.endemic in the NHS, abuse and violence. This is where they said

:02:09. > :02:14.force has been used in restraining patients. Obviously, patients with

:02:15. > :02:26.mental health problems sometimes can be difficult to manage for NHS Trust

:02:27. > :02:29.and the accusation so that there have been investigations that

:02:30. > :02:34.sometimes the force has been excessive. The figures we see do not

:02:35. > :02:40.show the outcome of the investigations so we do not know if

:02:41. > :02:53.indeed staff have been found to be misbehaving. This is a long-standing

:02:54. > :02:58.issue. A few years ago figures showed they were faced down

:02:59. > :03:10.restrictions being used. That cases were being used on psychiatric

:03:11. > :03:15.wards. -- Taser. We have seen this for a period of time and it goes on.

:03:16. > :03:20.It is not clear whether it is a budgetary issue but there seems to

:03:21. > :03:27.be suggestions that there are better ways of doing it. That has been

:03:28. > :03:32.success in moving away from this kind of restraint. Best practice

:03:33. > :03:40.needs to be shared across the system. There is still stigma around

:03:41. > :03:45.mental health. How we treated. Talking about it as if it is a

:03:46. > :03:52.disease. It is not something they can always control. A lot of these

:03:53. > :03:58.physical force - more than 5000 incidents last year alone - these

:03:59. > :04:02.are coming forward because perhaps the training is not fully their and

:04:03. > :04:09.we are not fully equipped to handle patients. You would not think of

:04:10. > :04:15.handling a patient with something like cancer being treated like this.

:04:16. > :04:22.On the Daily Mail, care homes. Four in ten not fit for purpose. An

:04:23. > :04:27.investigation carried out by the Daily Mail. As a consequence, the

:04:28. > :04:34.right tens of thousands of older people who are at risk. Up to 70,000

:04:35. > :04:45.vulnerable elderly people at risk. Four in ten not fit for purpose, K

:04:46. > :04:55.Holmes. A few billion pounds is the whole in these services. -- care

:04:56. > :05:00.homes. We have projects which will cost up to $70 billion. A few

:05:01. > :05:05.billions could be put into helping the elderly who need it the most.

:05:06. > :05:10.There is responsibility for politicians across the board. We can

:05:11. > :05:16.fix these problems. The money is there somewhere and you need to

:05:17. > :05:25.prioritise it. But if you help the economy and trade then you would be

:05:26. > :05:32.able to do this... There was a plan to solve these financial problems,

:05:33. > :05:36.part of the reason may's election campaign. It did not go down very

:05:37. > :05:44.well. People that did not have expensive homes contribute more to

:05:45. > :05:49.healthcare. This is very much a financial issue. We have seen it

:05:50. > :05:55.consistently in recent weeks. Basically some do not want to

:05:56. > :06:02.provide these services to local authorities. It is a challenge and

:06:03. > :06:08.it will get worse because it is an ageing population. Hard choices to

:06:09. > :06:15.make. Infrastructure into the future and hope there is no loss but maybe

:06:16. > :06:21.people will have to start with taxes in other areas. It is a financial

:06:22. > :06:28.choice and we have to own up to that. In the Telegraph, Tory anger

:06:29. > :06:39.over Brexit divorce bill. Accused of being kept out of the loop. And

:06:40. > :06:44.except be of ?36 billion. The suggestion that the figure is

:06:45. > :06:50.plucked out of the net all worked out carefully, I don't know, while

:06:51. > :06:57.politicians are on holiday. Many people saying conflict in things and

:06:58. > :07:03.occasionally Theresa May will weigh in on the issue from on high. What

:07:04. > :07:09.is interesting is another narrative we see which is something you get

:07:10. > :07:13.when speaking to officials. Trying to explain some basic facts to the

:07:14. > :07:23.ministers and they do not want to hear it. Some of these officials say

:07:24. > :07:26.they do not want to listen to reason and consequently they are

:07:27. > :07:34.consistently offended and outraged at the suggestion of the compromises

:07:35. > :07:42.like paying and except Bill -- except build. It does seem to be the

:07:43. > :07:47.name of the game. But across the border these days. David Jones is

:07:48. > :07:55.come out and said that we should not be making a sweetener for trading

:07:56. > :08:07.relations... This is the former trade minister. But whether it is 36

:08:08. > :08:15.billion more less... It needs to be put forward as a way to come

:08:16. > :08:19.together and start negotiating these deals and there is almost certainly

:08:20. > :08:28.going to be this payment to the EU the question is how much. Upward

:08:29. > :08:37.pressure! British tourists and red tape. The cost to make it trickier

:08:38. > :08:42.to visit the continent. We used to visit before we were part of the EU

:08:43. > :08:51.but now all these regulations exist. They do exist, the Americans who

:08:52. > :08:58.want to come abroad. It just tick a few boxes but the idea for UK

:08:59. > :09:04.citizens to pay anything, 5 euros for a Visa that will last five

:09:05. > :09:09.years, it does not the huge cost but the idea of paying that anything is

:09:10. > :09:15.a huge change. It is something we need to get used to as the red tape

:09:16. > :09:22.on both sides changes. Psychologically, this will be one of

:09:23. > :09:28.these factors that will make us feel different. We are clearly not part

:09:29. > :09:35.of the same community. We have to fill out forms. We will not be going

:09:36. > :09:41.to preferential ideals ex- access. Many people may be delighted about

:09:42. > :09:46.that, reasserting their national identity, many people will say it

:09:47. > :09:52.feels a bit uncomfortable. Perhaps we can start collecting stamps in

:09:53. > :10:05.our old loop passports if we get those back, Kate. LAUGHTER

:10:06. > :10:14.Absolutely. Your other. Right, were we going? The Guardian. The postcode

:10:15. > :10:19.lottery. Defying medical guidelines because money is tight but the aged

:10:20. > :10:27.which some women are being denied this treatment is surprisingly low.

:10:28. > :10:37.Many women about the age of 35 May start thinking about IVF. But they

:10:38. > :10:42.will take action on it. This to me is a frustrating storeyed because a

:10:43. > :10:49.professor quoted in this, who pioneered IVF in Britain says the

:10:50. > :10:56.issue is equality. He says that if the country decides not to have it

:10:57. > :11:00.it will be fine but that is a race to the bottom, surely. The idea

:11:01. > :11:07.behind this is why is it so difficult to access IVF at that

:11:08. > :11:13.young age of 35 stop we need to start looking at the system and how

:11:14. > :11:18.women can access this cheaply and more efficiently as they do a cross

:11:19. > :11:27.Europe. A lot of people would think we have had this battle already.

:11:28. > :11:34.This age group, that is when it is most effective. It sounds like a

:11:35. > :11:40.medical argument but it really sounds more economic. It seems to be

:11:41. > :11:49.just a case of yes we obeyed the argument but it seems to be the one

:11:50. > :11:54.which is easy us. A lot of citizens may feel it is a choice issue so

:11:55. > :11:58.they feel politically this is something they can get away with. If

:11:59. > :12:05.they rationale the forms of healthcare they may not find that is

:12:06. > :12:12.accepted so maybe it is about what else may be caught next. Google

:12:13. > :12:18.apologises after employees anti- diversity the raid. We cannot get

:12:19. > :12:27.away from agenda at the moment. This was a document written by an unknown

:12:28. > :12:31.Google employee suggesting the rub perfectly acceptable reasons why

:12:32. > :12:36.women are not doing so well inside this company. They call it a

:12:37. > :12:45.manifesto which is even more outrageous. The issue around the

:12:46. > :12:49.gender pay gap is far more new ends. Women in the UK between the ages of

:12:50. > :12:56.20 and 40 are earning the same as their male counterparts but when

:12:57. > :13:03.they become mothers... People will be having a sharp in take a breath

:13:04. > :13:17.saying that is not true... Rather than talking about the nuances...

:13:18. > :13:23.Darwinism. Yes. If you choose to cherry pick the evidence, you can

:13:24. > :13:28.justify any argument. It might be this particular individual has not

:13:29. > :13:37.been successful in his career... I am assuming it is him. It sounds a

:13:38. > :13:40.little bit. And maybe angry. We think this is not the best context

:13:41. > :13:49.from which to make an argument about a highly complicated issue. It has

:13:50. > :13:54.left Google with a bit of a problem having to explain this. Maybe

:13:55. > :13:59.something good would come of it. It is an absolute nightmare. They have

:14:00. > :14:07.a lot of infuriated employees who have these nasty manifesto against

:14:08. > :14:14.them. Not in any company but in the tech industry which have even a

:14:15. > :14:23.wider pay gaps. I am all out of outrage. I need a rest. That's the

:14:24. > :14:36.papers for the night... Just because I am female. LAUGHTER Go to our

:14:37. > :14:44.website for more details. I am even wearing the right colour. Great to

:14:45. > :14:48.have you here. Thank you very much, the film review is coming up next.
