:00:21. > :00:25.Hello there and welcome to our look ahead to what the papers will be
:00:26. > :00:27.bringing us first thing tomorrow morning.
:00:28. > :00:29.With me are the former Fleet Street editor,
:00:30. > :00:32.Eve Pollard, and the journalist and columnist, Yasmin Alibhai-Brown.
:00:33. > :00:41.Lovely to see you both again. We will come back to our chat in a
:00:42. > :00:47.moment. First off, a quick look at the front pages.
:00:48. > :00:56.They pay tribute to the British seven-year-old who was killed
:00:57. > :00:58.in the Barcelona terror attack on Thursday,
:00:59. > :00:59.after becoming separated from his mum while on Las Ramblas.
:01:00. > :01:02.The Daily Telegraph headlines comments made by the UK's chief
:01:03. > :01:05.trade negotiator in which he said post-Brexit deals will make
:01:06. > :01:08.the world a safer place as Britain forges alliances with other
:01:09. > :01:15.The Daily Express, meanwhile, claims Britain has seen a ?50
:01:16. > :01:17.billion foreign investment boom since the vote for Brexit,
:01:18. > :01:20.quoting analysis carried out by a Eurosceptic group.
:01:21. > :01:23.The Financial Times says the Trump administration is to push hard
:01:24. > :01:31.for tax reform in a bid to win back Republican voters.
:01:32. > :01:34.Meanwhile, the Daily Mail writes that Prince Charles has seen a drop
:01:35. > :01:37.in his popularity rating in the run-up to the 20th
:01:38. > :01:38.anniversary of Princess Diana's death.
:01:39. > :01:41.The Times says children are being exposed to an increase
:01:42. > :01:46.in gambling adverts as betting websites push for new customers.
:01:47. > :01:49.And the Guardian says the Crown Prosecution Service
:01:50. > :01:53.is to crack down on social media hate crimes, making them as serious
:01:54. > :02:01.as offences carried out face to face.
:02:02. > :02:07.That is one of the stories will be talking about in a moment. However,
:02:08. > :02:15.good evening do you both. We start off with the times. This fascinating
:02:16. > :02:25.link, the latest information on the spend terror attacks. To Brussels,
:02:26. > :02:29.how is this be made? There it is an Times, who is suspected. And good on
:02:30. > :02:37.the Times, this is the first ever that has this on the front page. So
:02:38. > :02:41.an imam suspected of masterminding the us learn attack also travelled
:02:42. > :02:51.often to Belgium, a connections to Paris, and seems to have been a
:02:52. > :02:59.major, kind of, dark figure, a groomer, almost, of young men, into
:03:00. > :03:11.jihadism and terror. But they have made a number of links. What is
:03:12. > :03:15.fascinating is this A3, the Audi, caught in Cambrils, that has also
:03:16. > :03:19.been seen in France, as well. It is interesting, because one of the
:03:20. > :03:25.boys' father says that this imam spent a lot of time with the boys.
:03:26. > :03:32.The youngest attic was 18, that has been involved in this jihadi
:03:33. > :03:36.terrorist attack. It is terrifying to think that someone who is
:03:37. > :03:41.supposed to be a man of religion is influencing and grooming these boys,
:03:42. > :03:44.usually boys are being in trouble, say you can repay your guilt by
:03:45. > :03:52.doing something wonderful, or whatever. But the man who drove his
:03:53. > :04:00.car is still at large. The one who is still at large, Younes
:04:01. > :04:05.Abouyaaqoub, is 22. But the others were really just lads, who
:04:06. > :04:10.apparently in the small place they were growing up in play football and
:04:11. > :04:20.seemed happy enough. And we do have a problem, because there are many
:04:21. > :04:26.imams online and across Europe, who have been flooded, as far as I know,
:04:27. > :04:32.because a lot are alleging this, by Saudi Arabia. They want their brand
:04:33. > :04:36.of Islam to the eight conquering ideology. So they want to take over
:04:37. > :04:41.the world in terms of the minds and hearts of young people. What
:04:42. > :04:48.astonishes me is that across Europe, this country is still a fond ally of
:04:49. > :04:53.ours. And we should be doing something about Saudi Arabia. What
:04:54. > :04:57.is extraordinary is that I think Saudi Arabia is the chair of human
:04:58. > :05:02.rights and the United Nations. It is extraordinary! And their royals and
:05:03. > :05:07.our royals, and all the President of America, Canada... We know why they
:05:08. > :05:11.suck up to them, but if they are serious about dealing with them, it
:05:12. > :05:15.is time. Very quickly, just to finish off this story, what was
:05:16. > :05:21.fascinating about it was that they were not on anybody's radar. The
:05:22. > :05:26.boys that did the attack, putting the imam a cypher, they did the
:05:27. > :05:30.attack, but they will won't be on watch. They led double lives. They
:05:31. > :05:37.went out and socialise and did not show any signs of being radicalised.
:05:38. > :05:45.-- putting the imam aside for a moment. Yes. And of course, we have
:05:46. > :05:49.GCHQ in this country, across Europe there is nothing like that. Spain
:05:50. > :05:52.does have good intelligence, but the mistake that was made when they
:05:53. > :06:02.found that this house that blew up, they thought it was an accident. And
:06:03. > :06:07.I think that was a bad mistake. A gate turning to Mirror and one of
:06:08. > :06:12.the victims of the atrocious attack. One of the victims is featured on
:06:13. > :06:17.many the papers, Julian Cadman, the seven-year-old, separated from his
:06:18. > :06:22.mother. He was obviously hit by this car in some way. Terrible, terrible
:06:23. > :06:26.story, when you think this is the way the little boy and his life. And
:06:27. > :06:30.his mother, of course, still in hospital. It is the soft targets, is
:06:31. > :06:38.the soft targets, isn't it? Be random, soft targets. I was there
:06:39. > :06:42.until Friday. -- the random. We were staying near to where the van
:06:43. > :06:48.stopped. One street away. Everybody who has been to Barcelona, it is the
:06:49. > :06:55.loveliest, easiest, sort of global cafe joint, if you like. That is
:06:56. > :06:59.what they hate. The puritans, they are real puritans. Not unlike the
:07:00. > :07:08.American neo-Nazis. They want the world to be not diverse, not to be
:07:09. > :07:14.internationalist. I was impressed by a piece in yesterday's Times, we
:07:15. > :07:23.said now we need to protect these people. They put bollards up in
:07:24. > :07:27.places like France and on the Thames, and it is good to change the
:07:28. > :07:33.way Europe looks, but this is something we need to do. We are
:07:34. > :07:37.going to turn, now, to the Guardian, which has another picture of the
:07:38. > :07:44.lovely Julian Cadman, but the story we are going to be looking at is the
:07:45. > :07:49.online abuse. Here we have somebody from the Crown Prosecution Service,
:07:50. > :07:53.which says we are going to deal with social media attacks as if they were
:07:54. > :07:58.physical, to your face attacks, because often they end up with being
:07:59. > :08:02.physical attacks, and they are, of course, very, very dangerous, with
:08:03. > :08:09.young people, cyber bullying, all this goes on on social media. And
:08:10. > :08:16.stalking, it can be terrifying! Frankly, it is about time we got to
:08:17. > :08:24.grips with social media. It is totally unfettered. Television and
:08:25. > :08:34.radio had to check their facts, social media does not. -- have to.
:08:35. > :08:40.And because their real name. -- and nobody puts their real name. I
:08:41. > :08:45.remember hearing somebody said that every time is something on social
:08:46. > :08:49.media, they dreamt of the day they would have to put their name and
:08:50. > :08:57.address next to it. Some of the strains of hate-crime, they say,
:08:58. > :09:06.racism, homophobic, sexism... But the mental abuse, I wonder how they
:09:07. > :09:13.will target, if they will, how they will target. We are going to look at
:09:14. > :09:18.the Mail now, and they have a story on the royal family. The angle is
:09:19. > :09:22.that Charles and Camilla are not too happy, allegedly, with the backlash
:09:23. > :09:28.following the documentaries. We don't know. The documentaries were
:09:29. > :09:33.about to cause a backlash. The whole country was totally shocked by the
:09:34. > :09:38.death of a member of the Royal family, and a popular member of the
:09:39. > :09:47.Royal family. And I am sure that this will be a passing stage. Yes.
:09:48. > :09:55.Deep PR machinery is brilliant. They have done a fantastic miraculous
:09:56. > :10:01.thing after she did die. -- The PR machinery. Underneath this, though,
:10:02. > :10:06.there is true. I want child to say, absolutely now, to remember Diana
:10:07. > :10:15.and to say it, I made... I was not good to have. He would not do that.
:10:16. > :10:20.Why not? All over the world, people have had bad marriages, done that
:10:21. > :10:25.things. Which of us can say that we have never done anything bad? I have
:10:26. > :10:34.not done anything this bad! I haven't! He has never talked about
:10:35. > :10:44.his side of the story. He has! OK, he has a bet. I thought she was
:10:45. > :10:48.amazing. -- a bit. And look at her sons, they are doing wonderful
:10:49. > :10:54.things. But I am just saying that I think divorce is now very common,
:10:55. > :10:58.sadly, and I think, yes, she had a very bad time, but the she had a
:10:59. > :11:02.very bad time from childhood. It would be good to have just a simple
:11:03. > :11:08.thing saying the boys have now spoken very honestly about their
:11:09. > :11:15.mother, their dad... Beautifully, beautifully... Beautifully. And now
:11:16. > :11:25.they're Dabney to say something. And what about the Sun? Duping people
:11:26. > :11:36.actually care about this? -- and now their dad needs to. -- do you think
:11:37. > :11:44.people actually care about this? I think it must be very upsetting for
:11:45. > :11:49.the boys to see all of this, as well as having spoken about their love
:11:50. > :11:52.for her. I think this 20 years on... We have to let it go now.
:11:53. > :12:04.It has been a pleasure, as usual. Coming up next, it is The Film
:12:05. > :12:05.Review. Enjoy it.
