:04:06. > :04:10.that, if you look at the comments on his press conference, he says they

:04:15. > :04:19.everyone to look at this and say this is the best effort that has
:04:20. > :04:24.been made. But there are many articles around in the days leading
:04:25. > :04:29.up to this, warning Trump and America of this impending crisis
:04:30. > :04:32.because flooding in this area is not new and actually flooding across

:04:38. > :04:40.on flood plains and the state backed insurance regime they have which
:04:41. > :04:47.allows people to rebuild houses again and again on flood zones.
:04:48. > :04:51.Interesting statistic, Houston in Texas has the highest proportion of

:05:08. > :05:18.is, no one wants to give up a benefit, if they can. And now to the
:05:19. > :05:24.Metro. The first Lady Melania Trump also flew into Texas. Interesting
:05:25. > :05:28.attire. She is making quite a statement with those shoes but we
:05:29. > :05:34.know that she swapped them when she got to Texas. She put her flats on.
:05:35. > :05:42.Yes, but they were also quite interesting shoes, pristine white.
:05:43. > :05:51.Shiny trainers. Well, how often does one get to go to a disaster zone?
:05:52. > :05:56.Well, quite. We are used to seeing politicians in Wellington boots, and
:05:57. > :06:04.so this is a change to that. Is this the kind of thing, that will detract
:06:05. > :06:09.from the President's performance? This is just a sideshow. The Trump
:06:10. > :06:13.presidency has been dogged by the idea that there is a lot of
:06:14. > :06:17.attention paid to image and not much attention paid to policy and detail
:06:18. > :06:24.and getting the logistics of situations right. This picture on
:06:25. > :06:26.the front page of the Metro does not do his presidency any favours
:06:27. > :06:32.because we might think it is funny that she is wearing stilettos, but
:06:33. > :06:35.it is not a fashion show. Nine people have died and they suspect
:06:36. > :06:39.many people will have died when the floodwaters finally go down,
:06:40. > :06:43.thousands and thousands people are not in their homes, and the effort
:06:44. > :06:50.to evacuate people has not been that organised. The warnings were already
:06:51. > :06:54.there. I wonder how long Trump and Melania Trump can get away with this
:06:55. > :06:59.idea that it looks great to jet into a flood saying and change your
:07:00. > :07:04.outfit on the flight over and wear a cap saying float us, but this is a
:07:05. > :07:09.serious issue. Not the time to be worrying about your shoes. What
:07:10. > :07:12.people want to see in Houston, speaking to survivors and people
:07:13. > :07:18.helping with the vestry effort, it is a multicultural city and state
:07:19. > :07:25.and they want the visit to focus on the celebration of the community
:07:26. > :07:30.coming together and helping people, and this is not that. The front page
:07:31. > :07:38.of the Guardian, as well, also a picture of Melania Trump. And the
:07:39. > :07:46.president there. The suggestion is that this will cost $100 billion.
:07:47. > :07:49.Yes, this is not the first. Trump was previously saying this is an
:07:50. > :07:55.event they have never seen before but that is not true. America has
:07:56. > :07:58.had floods of this scale. We were talking about the cost of this, the
:07:59. > :08:04.state backed insurance policies $25 billion in the red which is a huge
:08:05. > :08:06.amount of money and the premiums paid by people who take out
:08:07. > :08:12.insurance from this state backed fund does not cover it. The amount
:08:13. > :08:15.of money that they will have to spend to do something about this,
:08:16. > :08:19.not just putting people's lives back together and rebuild homes, but
:08:20. > :08:23.there is a dam about to break in Houston, that is a big issue and
:08:24. > :08:26.that will not stop being an issue going forward, and so there needs to
:08:27. > :08:30.be infrastructure investment which will cost billions of dollars and
:08:31. > :08:33.that will be a problem in Houston and also other big cities along the
:08:34. > :08:43.coastline which also have the same problem. The suggestion is that this
:08:44. > :08:49.will hurt the bottom line of the US economy and as a result it will put
:08:50. > :08:56.off America putting up interest rates. Definitely. We don't know the
:08:57. > :08:59.huge catastrophic effect this will have, people are dealing with
:09:00. > :09:03.absolute devastation and until that settles down I don't think we will
:09:04. > :09:11.have a clear picture of what happens, but outside of the economic
:09:12. > :09:14.impact, Trump has started the wheels in motion to abolish the
:09:15. > :09:17.environmental protection and is in America which would deal with
:09:18. > :09:22.incidents like this in the future, and he took steps to wind it back.
:09:23. > :09:29.Is this going to make him think again? Probably not. LAUGHTER
:09:30. > :09:37.And now the front page of The Times. North Korea, the other big issue for
:09:38. > :09:44.the president in his in trade. -- in tray. Theresa May slams North Korea
:09:45. > :09:50.over the missile fired over Japan. She is in Japan at the moment. We
:09:51. > :09:55.love a bit of international excitement, and the possibility of a
:09:56. > :10:04.missile test and a text message saying, get down in the middle of
:10:05. > :10:07.the night for -- but Theresa May is in Japan and she has said she is
:10:08. > :10:14.outraged over the missile which has been fired over Japan. President
:10:15. > :10:20.Trump has said all options are on the table, which is a less gung ho
:10:21. > :10:24.approach than when he previously had when he was warning if you go and do
:10:25. > :10:29.this again, we will take immediate action. The question we were asking
:10:30. > :10:36.before we came on air, what can people actually do? The answer is
:10:37. > :10:43.not very much. The only country that has any serious leveraged is the
:10:44. > :10:46.Chinese and they are not going to want millions of people crashing
:10:47. > :10:48.over their border if North Korea collapses, so they will continue to
:10:49. > :10:54.supply them with food and oil. Exactly. If they are going to take
:10:55. > :11:01.steps to sanction in any meaningful way, China has got to be on board.
:11:02. > :11:05.That will not happen. Historically, China may not want to get behind
:11:06. > :11:09.North Korea fully but it is not in their interests to have a united
:11:10. > :11:17.career that is allied to the United States so in a broader sense that is
:11:18. > :11:25.a consideration for them -- a United Korea. Bake off, that is what is
:11:26. > :11:32.important, the front page of the Metro. You are both fans, but you
:11:33. > :11:37.have missed it tonight. So you don't really have a sense of whether it is
:11:38. > :11:43.good or bad compared to what it was. I have some sense. I had tax
:11:44. > :11:48.messages from my friend who was outraged -- text. Who said it isn't
:11:49. > :11:56.the same and it doesn't feel the same. Noel Fielding. People did not

:12:05. > :12:15.Hollywood is still there. But it is not quite right. Something ski --
:12:16. > :12:19.something has gone awry, and a lot of adverts. Yes, they have got to
:12:20. > :12:28.try and get back some of this money, ?70 million. They will miss Mel and
:12:29. > :12:33.Sue, I was a big fan of them. I'm willing to row back on this. People
:12:34. > :12:37.will try it, they love it so much they will still give it a shot, but
:12:38. > :12:41.he has a lot to do to win people over. The adverts could be a problem
:12:42. > :12:48.for many people. People find it difficult these days watching
:12:49. > :12:52.adverts online. That is true. You have blockers to stop use routing
:12:53. > :13:02.through the adverts, it is a tricky one for them. It is very tricky. It
:13:03. > :13:06.was a show which was held dearly to people, many people were very
:13:07. > :13:12.excited every year when it came on, and it is a challenge for them to
:13:13. > :13:16.retain that and also make money from it because it clearly demonstrates
:13:17. > :13:20.that no matter how loved something is or held dear to the hearts of the
:13:21. > :13:22.public, that doesn't mean it will make money unfortunately. We are
