0:00:30 > 0:00:32in her pledge to build a "fairer Britain".

0:00:32 > 0:00:35There's growing criticism over the actions of two former police

0:00:35 > 0:00:37officers who claimed that pornographic images had been found

0:00:37 > 0:00:40on a work computer of the Cabinet minister, Damian Green.

0:00:40 > 0:00:47Mr Green has denied looking at or downloading pornography.

0:00:47 > 0:00:50President Trump has insisted that the actions of his former

0:00:50 > 0:00:52national security adviser, Michael Flynn, were lawful -

0:00:52 > 0:00:55but he had to sack him because he had lied

0:00:55 > 0:01:04to the vice-president and the FBI.

0:01:04 > 0:01:11Brothers Dave and James Franco star in a movie. Find out what Mark

0:01:11 > 0:01:18Kermode made of it all. In the Film Review.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28Hello and welcome to our look ahead to what the papers will be

0:01:28 > 0:01:29bringing us tomorrow.

0:01:29 > 0:01:32With me are the economics commentator & author,

0:01:32 > 0:01:34Dharshini David and the US Broadcaster and Commentator,

0:01:34 > 0:01:34Charlie Wolf.

0:01:34 > 0:01:36Tomorrow's front pages.

0:01:40 > 0:01:44The Observer leads with news that Theresa May's social mobility Tsar,

0:01:44 > 0:01:47Alan Milburn, has resigned in protest against the government's

0:01:47 > 0:01:52policies.

0:01:52 > 0:01:54The Sunday Times goes with the same story,

0:01:54 > 0:01:56reporting that Mr Milburn accused ministers of betraying the people

0:01:57 > 0:02:00who voted for Brexit.

0:02:00 > 0:02:04The Mail on Sunday says a Labour peer has been wrongly claiming

0:02:04 > 0:02:09expenses - the peer says he will pay some of the money back.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11The Sunday Telegraph reports on dissent within

0:02:11 > 0:02:13the Conservative Party over the role EU courts will play

0:02:13 > 0:02:15in the UK after Brexit.

0:02:15 > 0:02:18And the Sunday Express claims the upcoming royal wedding will lift

0:02:18 > 0:02:21the economy by half a billion pounds and boost the Uk's diplomatic

0:02:21 > 0:02:26relationship with the United States.

0:02:26 > 0:02:35So let's begin.

0:02:35 > 0:02:43The Observer, may's Social Mobility Commission wrote to quits. This is

0:02:43 > 0:02:49Alan Milburn and the other three. For people in total. This is

0:02:49 > 0:02:53disastrous overall. Social mobility is more then, are you rich or poor?

0:02:53 > 0:02:57It is a case of if you are born poor, what are your chances of

0:02:57 > 0:03:01moving up the income scale and sharing in the games we are seeing

0:03:01 > 0:03:05in the country. If you look at the reports the commission has put out

0:03:05 > 0:03:08over the past few years, devastating. We know the impact of

0:03:08 > 0:03:11that because when you look at the vote of the referendum, the people

0:03:11 > 0:03:16that were not actually benefiting from social mobility are

0:03:16 > 0:03:21disproportionately located in those areas which voted out. We have

0:03:21 > 0:03:24harissa made coming to power last year and talking about the fact that

0:03:24 > 0:03:29this should be a country for all, not just a few -- Theresa May. These

0:03:29 > 0:03:34people are saying, you are not to -- priority in this. It is falling by

0:03:34 > 0:03:39the wayside when you are focusing on Brexit. That is slightly the point

0:03:39 > 0:03:43that Brexit is a huge issue and other things going on at the same

0:03:43 > 0:03:47time. Governments are probably not on the ball as it should have been.

0:03:47 > 0:03:54A difficult time.Hadi you necessarily show -- how old do you

0:03:54 > 0:04:01necessarily show that confidence. It is an important concept. It is the

0:04:01 > 0:04:06American dream. When we had people dropping out of the job market and

0:04:06 > 0:04:11not wanting to go back in, that was considered dropping out of the

0:04:11 > 0:04:16American dream. This is a country very similar in environment, desire

0:04:16 > 0:04:24and ability, to be able to invent something. The Prime Minister

0:04:24 > 0:04:29quoting about America are saying average earnings there remain flat

0:04:29 > 0:04:34over the last 30 years. The point is, this is not just a UK

0:04:34 > 0:04:41phenomenon.It shouldn't just be a bout of money, by the way. It is

0:04:41 > 0:04:45getting people into jobs. Ultimately, it is about money. These

0:04:45 > 0:04:53people have seen profits, profits have grown over the last 30 years in

0:04:53 > 0:05:01America, as they have here but wages have not kept in line. These people

0:05:01 > 0:05:06are not going to be getting their fair share of the pie and therefore,

0:05:06 > 0:05:12for Mrs May, this is a disaster. If you are qualified to make these

0:05:12 > 0:05:17people 's lives better, are you going to make it better by...We

0:05:17 > 0:05:22must make the point it is not just Alan Milburn, it is the commission

0:05:22 > 0:05:31including Gillian Shephard, Baroness Shephard. The Sunday Telegraph, we

0:05:31 > 0:05:40are talking about Trump's joy. Quite a torturous is less, getting this

0:05:40 > 0:05:47legislation...Even with his own party. It is not necessarily what he

0:05:47 > 0:05:53wanted, not the full measure. But that said, it is something and

0:05:53 > 0:05:57considering the last thing this was done is 31 years ago and if you look

0:05:57 > 0:06:04at the American tax system, it is so complicated. The left -- legislation

0:06:04 > 0:06:07takes up volumes. For those complaining about the rich not

0:06:07 > 0:06:11paying tax, one of the reasons why is it you have that many regulations

0:06:11 > 0:06:16and the taxes that higher, it keeps you out of the tax game. The

0:06:16 > 0:06:26corporation tax in America dropped from 35 to 20%.The highest

0:06:26 > 0:06:30corporation tax of...One of the highest. It is quite a risk because

0:06:30 > 0:06:34what you are saying is you are taking a gamble and if you will

0:06:34 > 0:06:40convince more companies to stay put in the US and pay tax there. That is

0:06:40 > 0:06:46the thing about the more revenue you get when you reduce tax.I know him

0:06:46 > 0:06:55personally.What individuals will say that and say, what about us?

0:06:55 > 0:07:01This is the word I was having trouble with last hour, prosperity.

0:07:01 > 0:07:07If you can bring in prosperity, everyone benefits. The economy under

0:07:07 > 0:07:19Jimmy Carter, the mess. And then Ronald Reagan. That's debatable.

0:07:19 > 0:07:29This guy talks about jobs. He is not just about rich and taxes. He is

0:07:29 > 0:07:33dedicated to... His line is that why would you do anything to stand in a

0:07:33 > 0:07:37way of some of who wants to hire people. Killam you are assuming that

0:07:37 > 0:07:41the lower tax rate means that you use the money to create more jobs

0:07:41 > 0:07:47and not just pass on to shareholders. -- EU are assuming.

0:07:47 > 0:07:53What we are seeing is it does go to shareholders. -- you are assuming.

0:07:53 > 0:07:57There is a big picture of two reason may looking very worried and who

0:07:57 > 0:08:05could blame her? There is Donald Trump. He is coming on February 20

0:08:05 > 0:08:10six.Is that why she is looking worried? Not too many miles from

0:08:10 > 0:08:17here, there is American embassy. The idea is that if all this goes to

0:08:17 > 0:08:25plan, it will be ready around that date. This could be a very

0:08:25 > 0:08:37interesting thing. We have had people protesting before, Reagan,

0:08:37 > 0:08:42whatever was going in the same days. The same with Bush senior. This is a

0:08:42 > 0:08:47bit different to that.I think it is a shame. I know there are people

0:08:47 > 0:08:55that have opinions about him. He is not the average president but he is

0:08:55 > 0:08:59still the President of the United States. When he went to France, they

0:08:59 > 0:09:01are notorious about making themselves heard there. It was

0:09:01 > 0:09:10peaceful.People don't protest on Friday.There hears, re- tweeting

0:09:10 > 0:09:22Britain first. -- Britain First. That woman mayor, Theresa May, if

0:09:22 > 0:09:28you are applying for a visa, you had to apply with British values and

0:09:28 > 0:09:31that includes fairness, equality and tolerance of other religions. We are

0:09:31 > 0:09:38going slightly backwards but I take the point entirely. As a back to the

0:09:38 > 0:09:49Sunday Telegraph. -- let's go back. What do we make of this? Tories at

0:09:49 > 0:09:55war over European judges. This is arguing that we might actually stick

0:09:55 > 0:10:04with this particular... European Court of Justice.Which is, to be

0:10:04 > 0:10:08fair, separate from the European Union but that said, it is still

0:10:08 > 0:10:11essentially foreign judges who could be reviewing and pronouncing on

0:10:11 > 0:10:20British law. It is part of the deal. Obviously Theresa May has a meeting

0:10:20 > 0:10:26tomorrow with Jean-Claude Juncker and he is president of the

0:10:26 > 0:10:34commission. A federalist through and through. He was a stronger, deeper,

0:10:34 > 0:10:39more integrated Europe which drive myself crazy and others. We have had

0:10:39 > 0:10:45a battle going on of trying to get the negotiating stages of getting

0:10:45 > 0:10:49out and working out how much it will cost. Now there is the thought it

0:10:49 > 0:10:54could cost us something far more valuable than money and that is what

0:10:54 > 0:10:59I consider to be independent. Sovereignty through the law. This is

0:10:59 > 0:11:05an attack on her perceived attitudes from Iain Duncan Smith.

0:11:08 > 0:11:13Obviously you are a sceptic as well. He would be the person to fire this

0:11:13 > 0:11:17warning. It depends which side of the debate you are on. If you think

0:11:17 > 0:11:22this is necessarily a disaster or not. Most people who voted to leave

0:11:22 > 0:11:30the European Union, immigration and so on, but forming our own laws and

0:11:30 > 0:11:36so on...As far as we are concerned, nothing overrules the US

0:11:36 > 0:11:40Constitution and to me it is the mark of sovereignty. If you can't

0:11:40 > 0:11:51create your own laws, what are you? Quickly on to the Observer. Roy

0:11:51 > 0:11:57Hattersley, very much identified as on the left of the Labour Party. Now

0:11:57 > 0:12:01he realises this new outfit momentum is causing trouble. For him to say

0:12:01 > 0:12:10this is quite a moment. He is saying there are various examples and that

0:12:10 > 0:12:16there are members who are trying to unseat MPs and councillors who are

0:12:16 > 0:12:21seen as being moderate and move the party to the left. As we were saying

0:12:21 > 0:12:28before, if you are a fan of having debate even within parties,...It is

0:12:28 > 0:12:38the radical left. This is the Corbynistas. And members of the

0:12:38 > 0:12:48Watford party who sit on the bench, it is strong links to make. The

0:12:48 > 0:12:57party came back and said, no, you will shortlist this person.Momentum

0:12:57 > 0:13:03on the margin. If we are to believe this article, of course. This is

0:13:03 > 0:13:07just two examples. It would appear that there are some claims in this

0:13:07 > 0:13:12particular seats and that is what happening.And that all --

0:13:12 > 0:13:17Hattersley is saying it is time to fight back.Strong words indeed.

0:13:17 > 0:13:21This story is next to the one on the front page of the Of server about

0:13:21 > 0:13:27two reason they and social mobility and how this proves that this shows

0:13:27 > 0:13:40her party in disarray. -- Theresa May.Let's go something nice. What

0:13:40 > 0:13:49to you think? The Mail on Sunday says Megan -- Meghan Markle's unseen

0:13:49 > 0:13:59family photo album. You approve of this excitement as looking in as an

0:13:59 > 0:14:05American person?I was talking yesterday and a green room and I

0:14:05 > 0:14:14could be home in the state and 80 steel about Diana and Charles. "What

0:14:14 > 0:14:20Those people did to that poor girl! " That is still forefront in their

0:14:20 > 0:14:25mind. This is an American and she has a multi-ethnic background, she

0:14:25 > 0:14:30is young, she is American, she is an actress, she wears modern clothes. I

0:14:30 > 0:14:35am sure they will be over the moon. What we don't hear so much and we

0:14:35 > 0:14:39have heard about all those aspects of her, this is a woman who mastered

0:14:39 > 0:14:43in international relations. She has experience as an Abasand Darfur

0:14:43 > 0:14:48charity. She is well qualified. She has a professional side. -- she is

0:14:48 > 0:14:52an ambassador for charity. We have got to stop. That is if the papers

0:14:52 > 0:14:55this hour. Thank you to you both. Coming up next, the
