0:00:15 > 0:00:19Hello and welcome to our look ahead to what the the papers will be

0:00:19 > 0:00:20bringing us tomorrow.

0:00:20 > 0:00:22With me are Rosamund Urwin, who's a columnist for

0:00:22 > 0:00:24the London Evening Standard and Michael Booker, Deputy Editor

0:00:24 > 0:00:27of the Daily Express.

0:00:27 > 0:00:31Good evening to you both. Before we speak to them both, let's take a

0:00:31 > 0:00:36look at some of the newspaper front pages. The Guardian leads on the

0:00:36 > 0:00:41condemnation by the United Nations over Donald Trump's alleged racist

0:00:41 > 0:00:44comments. The president should didn't get his hopes up about

0:00:44 > 0:00:47getting an invitation to the royal wedding according to the Daily

0:00:47 > 0:00:51Mail's lead story.

0:00:51 > 0:00:52The Mirror covers the allegations of racism

0:00:52 > 0:00:54by Chelsea coaching staff in the 1990s.

0:00:54 > 0:00:57A smiling image of Angela Merkel is on the FT, which reports

0:00:57 > 0:00:59on the German Chancellor reaching an agreement to form

0:00:59 > 0:01:00a three party coalition.

0:01:00 > 0:01:08Tips on how to halt dementia, are the top story in the Express.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11The Sun says there's pressure on the BBC to sack Radio Four

0:01:11 > 0:01:13presenter John Humphrys over comments he made off-air

0:01:13 > 0:01:17about equal pay.

0:01:17 > 0:01:19The Telegraph has an interview with the presenter,

0:01:19 > 0:01:22in which he says he didn't know he was being recorded.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24And also reports that people are being turned away

0:01:24 > 0:01:26from pharmacies without flu jabs because of low supplies.

0:01:26 > 0:01:28Meanwhile, the Daily Star has some alternative

0:01:28 > 0:01:31advice for keeping the bug at bay.

0:01:36 > 0:01:42Must read that in more detail. Let us begin... Kick us off pleased with

0:01:42 > 0:01:48the Guardian, a lot of coverage of this. United Nations, Trump's

0:01:48 > 0:01:52remarks racist and shameful. We won't have the word itself he is

0:01:52 > 0:01:55said to have used but people might not know quite what's going on here,

0:01:55 > 0:02:00please enlighten them.Yet again, Donald Trump's bigmouth has landed

0:02:00 > 0:02:06him in trouble and he has been very rude about Central American

0:02:06 > 0:02:14countries and African nations and this has resulted in the UN, human

0:02:14 > 0:02:17rights spokesman saying it's impossible to view his remarks as

0:02:17 > 0:02:25anything other than racist. American diplomats are being summoned for

0:02:25 > 0:02:31approach to leaders.I'm sure a lot of things get said in private by all

0:02:31 > 0:02:34sorts of American presidents but this was in a slightly bigger for?

0:02:34 > 0:02:39It was. A Democrat senator has come forward to sake he said these

0:02:39 > 0:02:44things. Trump at first, and this is the interesting thing, he had

0:02:44 > 0:02:48initially allowed the White House not to deny the reports of his

0:02:48 > 0:02:53comments. It has been said by plenty of people but actually these kind of

0:02:53 > 0:02:57remarks played very well with his base. He has admitted he used tough

0:02:57 > 0:03:02language but later went on to say he'd never used those words, but the

0:03:02 > 0:03:06denial was rather slow to come out. In being undiplomatic is not

0:03:06 > 0:03:11entirely new. This is the guy you want to build the wall because he

0:03:11 > 0:03:15accuse Mexicans of being rapists. This is something he is kind of use

0:03:15 > 0:03:19to and used either for or behind it. We were discussing this just before,

0:03:19 > 0:03:25there is a lot of people very angry, the UN would be very angry with this

0:03:25 > 0:03:28and call it racist, but we are still yet to see the people who voted for

0:03:28 > 0:03:31him in the first place. We don't really hear what they are saying

0:03:31 > 0:03:36about Donald Trump at the moment. Those in the liberal media and

0:03:36 > 0:03:41Western media... They think he's a terrible guy.Trump's usual enemies

0:03:41 > 0:03:45stop where exactly, getting upset every single time. The same people

0:03:45 > 0:03:49again in this country who were very happythat he won't be coming over

0:03:49 > 0:03:55to open the embassy as well. Sadiq Khan at the London mayor saying that

0:03:55 > 0:03:59he's not got our values and things like that, but does it matter to the

0:03:59 > 0:04:01people in America? Are they paying attention to the fact he isn't

0:04:01 > 0:04:06coming to open the embassy? Is the point being reached that even he

0:04:06 > 0:04:11might be going a bit far, do you think?Or is it more of the same?

0:04:11 > 0:04:17There are plenty of senior Republican politicians worried about

0:04:17 > 0:04:20this, particularly people in swing states, who are concerned they only

0:04:20 > 0:04:25need to lose a few voting points and it turns off a chunk of their voters

0:04:25 > 0:04:30they don't want to lose. Obviously, young people in America

0:04:30 > 0:04:33overwhelmingly rejected Donald Trump, those who voted, and I think

0:04:33 > 0:04:37all this stuff to them, they must be looking at their country, a lot of

0:04:37 > 0:04:42young people, and thinking how on earth as our country become this? I

0:04:42 > 0:04:47think in four years, yes maybe this stuff does build up.You get the

0:04:47 > 0:04:55impression with him anyway, when you see the Michael Wolff thing,...The

0:04:55 > 0:04:58book that came out?Yes, that he's prepared to walk away at some point.

0:04:58 > 0:05:02And the family are as well. It seems as though it was all of a bit of a

0:05:02 > 0:05:06shock to become president in the first place and he has got four

0:05:06 > 0:05:09years out of it and he likes playing the victim. If he is perceived to be

0:05:09 > 0:05:13forced out, he will play the victim for the rest of his life.We will

0:05:13 > 0:05:17never hear the end of it! Michael, staying with Donald Trump, the front

0:05:17 > 0:05:21page of the Daily Mail. As you mentioned, not coming over to open a

0:05:21 > 0:05:24new embassy, claiming he doesn't like the building or the location

0:05:24 > 0:05:27and thinks it was a bad deal, all sorts of reasons. But this is

0:05:27 > 0:05:33something else? The Royal wedding? The Daily Mail had the scoop that he

0:05:33 > 0:05:36wasn't coming over for the empty this morning, now they are saying he

0:05:36 > 0:05:39will miss the Royal wedding. This doesn't seem as incredibly well

0:05:39 > 0:05:45sourced because there doesn't... For Prince Harry Meghan Markle's big day

0:05:45 > 0:05:48in May, no invites have gone out yet so we don't know 100%. They are

0:05:48 > 0:05:53saying someone from the Royal household, some courtier, there's a

0:05:53 > 0:05:56good source in the stories! The guest list hasn't yet been

0:05:56 > 0:06:00announced, there is no reason he would be invited, though. There is

0:06:00 > 0:06:04this debate the former president, because his best friends with Harry

0:06:04 > 0:06:11and shares his liberal values that of Meghan Markle, would he be

0:06:11 > 0:06:15invited? This doesn't seem as cut and dried as this morning's Daily

0:06:15 > 0:06:19Mail, saying he wasn't coming to open up the embassy. But I can't

0:06:19 > 0:06:22imagine he would be invited. It is a lot smaller wedding this time than

0:06:22 > 0:06:28Kate and William's wedding. They are trying to contain it at Windsor, so

0:06:28 > 0:06:34I wouldn't imagine it would be a big song and dance and Obama didn't go

0:06:34 > 0:06:37to that wedding. You don't make too much buzz about things that are not

0:06:37 > 0:06:44happening!He would be interesting if Obama does get the invite.Yes,

0:06:44 > 0:06:50it would be seen as a snub.Trump's ego is fragile and would see it as a

0:06:50 > 0:06:54snub. It is in a state occasion and the guest list is drawn up by

0:06:54 > 0:06:56Buckingham Palace but the government has a consultancy role. We know

0:06:56 > 0:07:03Meghan Markle loathed him and wrote and called him divisive and

0:07:03 > 0:07:10misogynistic.The other problem is if that would be his first visit to

0:07:10 > 0:07:13this country, then all the security problems, would we want this huge

0:07:13 > 0:07:18protest outside of Windsor Castle for the Royal wedding? I can't

0:07:18 > 0:07:22imagine he would be invited to this wedding. It says Donald Trump faces

0:07:22 > 0:07:25the embarrassment of not being invited. I think that is one thing

0:07:25 > 0:07:33he doesn't suffer! OK, let's go now to the Daily

0:07:33 > 0:07:39Telegraph. Would you get us on this? This is about the dreaded flu. The

0:07:39 > 0:07:45headline probably says it's all, chemist runs short of flu jab.Yes,

0:07:45 > 0:07:48we've now on not only got to fear the Australian flu but also the

0:07:48 > 0:07:56Japanese flu and today... Sorry, today the Telegraph is saying people

0:07:56 > 0:07:59across the country were being turned away from pharmacies who had run out

0:07:59 > 0:08:04of stock of the vaccine. So there is a shortage in Cumbria and the

0:08:04 > 0:08:08Telegraph has contacted branches of Routes across the Midlands. It is

0:08:08 > 0:08:14not a cause for panic straightaway. Boots said today, it has told the

0:08:14 > 0:08:17Telegraph they would be being resupplied and swiftly. One of the

0:08:17 > 0:08:21things that comes up later in the story is high-street chemist said

0:08:21 > 0:08:25they avoided overstocking the jabs because they are only reimbursed by

0:08:25 > 0:08:29the NHS for vaccines that are used, so they only keep quite a small

0:08:29 > 0:08:32supply in stores because they don't want to lose money. It does point

0:08:32 > 0:08:37out there is a stockpile somewhere. They don't exactly where that there

0:08:37 > 0:08:41is a stockpile. I don't think there is a need to panic. As they say, it

0:08:41 > 0:08:44could be the worst flu season for seven years. It is not at that point

0:08:44 > 0:08:49yet. Sadly 85 people have died over the winter period, but it is not

0:08:49 > 0:08:54that caused panic at the moment. I seem to remember seven years ago

0:08:54 > 0:08:59when it was far worse, most of the country survived.Don't get too

0:08:59 > 0:09:06worried about it. We are overdue a flu epidemic! They are from tomorrow

0:09:06 > 0:09:09going to be fully stocked again so again, I think it is a little bit

0:09:09 > 0:09:12scary the way it is presented in the Telegraph but I think we will be all

0:09:12 > 0:09:17right.The extraordinary thing to me as there is so much warning about

0:09:17 > 0:09:20the flu, you have to wave a flag and say, particularly in vulnerable,

0:09:20 > 0:09:25elderly, but also the National Health Service people are being

0:09:25 > 0:09:29pushed to have the flu jab. You would think they would get that

0:09:29 > 0:09:34automatically?Except because of the way the flu jab works, it doesn't

0:09:34 > 0:09:38protect you against all the strains of that. It can make people feel not

0:09:38 > 0:09:42particular well having it and there is an argument that it is pretty

0:09:42 > 0:09:48pointless, some doctors make this argument. As beings can be lazy

0:09:48 > 0:09:54income be bothered to get it.You talking about yourself?Gas!But of

0:09:54 > 0:10:00course the broader context here for this is the NHS is really, really

0:10:00 > 0:10:06struggling. In theory it has had a relatively easy winter which has

0:10:06 > 0:10:10still been incredibly tough on staff, they are losing staff, these

0:10:10 > 0:10:14A&E specialist sending a letter to the Prime Minister this week, saying

0:10:14 > 0:10:20about the state of A&Es. That is a big problem, because if you have the

0:10:20 > 0:10:24context people dying on trolleys and additionally got a growing crisis,

0:10:24 > 0:10:27though admittedly at the moment not that big, but has the potential to

0:10:27 > 0:10:33become something much bigger, then it becomes...They say it's moving

0:10:33 > 0:10:37towards an epidemic.A scary word. An official epidemic in France.

0:10:37 > 0:10:41Still just across the Channel. There is a big drama front page of the

0:10:41 > 0:10:47Daily Telegraph. Michael, a familiar face one could say, John Humphrys,

0:10:47 > 0:10:51the Today programme presenter facing criticism. Just explain if you can

0:10:51 > 0:10:57what this is about. He was recorded having that all four word banter

0:10:57 > 0:11:00about Carrie Gracie, the BBC News China editor who resigned earlier in

0:11:00 > 0:11:11the week about the gender pay rules. As the week has gone and he has been

0:11:11 > 0:11:15speaking to Jon Sopel, the BBC's North America editor. This wasn't

0:11:15 > 0:11:18being broadcast but this tape has got out and got into other hands, it

0:11:18 > 0:11:22was in the Times this morning and the sun, in which they were joking

0:11:22 > 0:11:26about it. These jokes haven't gone down very well. Particularly John

0:11:26 > 0:11:31Humphrys rather than Jon Sopel. At one point, Jon Sopel said stop in a

0:11:31 > 0:11:35jokey manner. John Humphrys talking here, also on the front of the sun.

0:11:35 > 0:11:43They want him out. And a lot of people in the BBC, predict we women

0:11:43 > 0:11:48I imagine, don't like the cut of their jib, the way they were joking,

0:11:48 > 0:11:51particularly John Humphrys. In the Telegraph he is saying if he could

0:11:51 > 0:11:54relive the last few days, he wouldn't have done the same chat

0:11:54 > 0:11:58with Jon Sopel. But I think that 74, I think John Humphrys probably

0:11:58 > 0:12:03doesn't care that much. He's making quite a lot of money at the moment,

0:12:03 > 0:12:10on about £600,000 a year and the moment? He probably has a decent

0:12:10 > 0:12:13pension and is better off than most people. He is trying to laugh it off

0:12:13 > 0:12:16and is a it was a wind-up, saying it was just a nasty person with a

0:12:16 > 0:12:21gradually did. That is the other wrangle. Let's just go to this front

0:12:21 > 0:12:27page here... BBC women want veteran sacked.What a surprise!One

0:12:27 > 0:12:36paragraph we can see on the front?A source for an equal page campaign

0:12:36 > 0:12:40group said the only acceptable outcome is for him to go. I think

0:12:40 > 0:12:43one of the frustrations of one of these women is a lot of them have

0:12:43 > 0:12:48stopped, they are not allowed to present on this issue, but John

0:12:48 > 0:12:54Humphrys is still allowed to. Allowed? Everyone seems to know it

0:12:54 > 0:12:57was a conversation which he didn't expect. He was broadcasting at the

0:12:57 > 0:13:02time.Sure, but going forward... The people have been banned, who have

0:13:02 > 0:13:06commented on it publicly. His argument was this was a private

0:13:06 > 0:13:09conversation which has become a public one and he is still allowed

0:13:09 > 0:13:15to ask people about this issue. And still trying to laugh it off whereas

0:13:15 > 0:13:19other people are taking far more seriously.Onto another story...

0:13:19 > 0:13:32Chelsea on the front page of the mirror, Chelsea n-word outrage. It

0:13:32 > 0:13:39emerged on the Guardian online. It is Chelsea youth players claiming to

0:13:39 > 0:13:49have been subject to racial abuse by the coach and scout. I think at

0:13:49 > 0:13:53Chelsea since 1979, very close to Ken Bates, the chairman and owner

0:13:53 > 0:13:58that was. He was there quite a few years. There is confirmed quite

0:13:58 > 0:14:00shocking stuff these players say they were subjected to from both of

0:14:00 > 0:14:06them.And that is their relegation. The pair of them deny those

0:14:06 > 0:14:09allegations, and we must say the police have said they have found no

0:14:09 > 0:14:13evidence for it.There was a complaint made to the pleas, the

0:14:13 > 0:14:16police investigated and there was no grounds for prosecution. Chelsea are

0:14:16 > 0:14:20now subject to legal action from these players who said it lived with

0:14:20 > 0:14:25them. These young lads, they are eager to please, a lot of them from

0:14:25 > 0:14:28very poor backgrounds and this is a good chance to give themselves and

0:14:28 > 0:14:33their family a great future, playing football is a dream for a lot of

0:14:33 > 0:14:37young lads. If they are subjected to this sort of thing... These people

0:14:37 > 0:14:41have great power over them. If they are subjecting these lads... Why

0:14:41 > 0:14:49might you are generalising. It is interesting, when we see a spotlight

0:14:49 > 0:14:54shifting, we start in Hollywood, we come to other organisations and

0:14:54 > 0:14:58institutions and settling on the world of football now.Football had

0:14:58 > 0:15:01the allegations in the women's game last year which came before

0:15:01 > 0:15:08Parliament, where the women said, not totally dissimilar, not as

0:15:08 > 0:15:12severe, but that there was racial abuse and a lot of sexism going on

0:15:12 > 0:15:16and bad behaviour.Do you think it's a case that in areas where people

0:15:16 > 0:15:21sort of felt it had to be put up with, again not this case

0:15:21 > 0:15:24particular, but in sport... People playing football and so on, oh well,

0:15:24 > 0:15:28there's a lot of rough-and-tumble, but now people are looking at that

0:15:28 > 0:15:33sort of thing differently?Yes, and power stretches. Hollywood is

0:15:33 > 0:15:38similar. A couple of people hold an awful lot of power, particularly

0:15:38 > 0:15:41over relatively young people starting out, who hope this person

0:15:41 > 0:15:44will be the person who makes their career. This is very difficult to

0:15:44 > 0:15:48take them on, when you think my career lies in this person's hands.

0:15:48 > 0:15:53The point was made earlier in the week, allegations against Kojak

0:15:53 > 0:15:56Newcastle United. I think they are being investigated as well. It goes

0:15:56 > 0:16:02back to these lads are scared of them.He also denies it. The

0:16:02 > 0:16:06Financial Times front page, Rosamond, the headline says mortgage

0:16:06 > 0:16:10lenders shut the door on bit coin investors eyeing first property,

0:16:10 > 0:16:17disentangle this for us and tell us what it is!

0:16:17 > 0:16:21Essentially lots of young people have seen bitcoin is an easy way to

0:16:21 > 0:16:26make money. People compare to other Rushs in the city on the past, going

0:16:26 > 0:16:31back to Tulip Fever.The crypto currency, it doesn't exist in

0:16:31 > 0:16:37physical form.It is the most famous crypto currency but a lot of people

0:16:37 > 0:16:41have piled into it because it's been seen as a really quick way to get a

0:16:41 > 0:16:48massive return. It has shot up very quickly. Now, they have tried to

0:16:48 > 0:16:50cash out and some people have struggled even to do that, but those

0:16:50 > 0:16:54who have have thought, this is great, I will put a deposit on my

0:16:54 > 0:16:57flat. Except it turns out they are not really allowed to use it as a

0:16:57 > 0:17:04deposit on a flat. Public sector worker who made £40,000 investing

0:17:04 > 0:17:08bitcoin couldn't get a mortgage because he couldn't prove where he

0:17:08 > 0:17:12got the funds. What is interesting about this is a mortgage lender

0:17:12 > 0:17:15didn't know what a crypto currency was, which seems staggering to me

0:17:15 > 0:17:19given that it's been pretty much the most talked about things of the last

0:17:19 > 0:17:24year.Maybe... You might read about it but it is still a pretty complex

0:17:24 > 0:17:31thing.But this will create a problem, because it's really

0:17:31 > 0:17:34difficult to get on the property market, this is one way to get a

0:17:34 > 0:17:38deposit, or has been. There is no guarantee it keeps going up,

0:17:38 > 0:17:44obviously.Michael, are you using your bitcoin to find a new place?I

0:17:44 > 0:17:48checked by the computer to see if I dropped any of there! It has been

0:17:48 > 0:17:51explained to me a million times what bitcoin is all about and it seems

0:17:51 > 0:17:54like it's a made up thing that will end up causing a lot of problems for

0:17:54 > 0:18:00a lot of people who have invested so much time and it stops are not if

0:18:00 > 0:18:04you cash out! Bellowed the people have been able to cash out and then

0:18:04 > 0:18:09being ripped off when they have tried to cash out.The problem here
