:00:07. > :00:09.It's Wednesday, it's 9.15, I'm Victoria Derbyshire.

:00:10. > :00:25.This morning there is an ongoing stand-off outside an apartment

:00:26. > :00:29.building in Paris. people have been killed in a major

:00:30. > :00:32.operation targeting the suspected Loud explosions

:00:33. > :00:40.and gunfire were heard during the raid on a flat

:00:41. > :00:43.in the suburb of Saint-Denis, which is continuing - and began soon

:00:44. > :00:47.after 4 in the morning. Latest

:00:48. > :00:49.reports say one of those killed was a woman who blew

:00:50. > :00:53.herself up with a suicide vest. Four police officers are

:00:54. > :01:03.said to have been injured. I will bring you the latest from the

:01:04. > :01:06.scene where that operation is continuing. Hundreds of police are

:01:07. > :01:09.here and so our troops from the Army.

:01:10. > :01:13.Throughout the programme we'll keep you up to date with

:01:14. > :01:21.the latest developments and we'll bring you more stories from those

:01:22. > :01:30.Including one British couple from Leeds. We will tell you the dramatic

:01:31. > :01:42.story of their escape through the roof of the Bataclan in the next

:01:43. > :01:45.hour. Good morning and welcome to the programme.

:01:46. > :01:49.Throughout the programme we'll keep you up to date with the fast moving

:01:50. > :01:52.situation in Paris - where there's a major operation going on

:01:53. > :01:55.The operation began before dawn

:01:56. > :02:04.The French Prosecutor has confirmed that a woman inside the apartment

:02:05. > :02:07.set-off an explosive vest and died at the beginning of the raid.

:02:08. > :02:13.In this amateur footage shot by one resident you can hear the gunfire

:02:14. > :02:25.in the apartment have been taken out of the building by anti-terrorist

:02:26. > :02:33.Their identities aren't confirmed so far.

:02:34. > :02:40.One person is apparently still holed up in the apartment.

:02:41. > :02:46.Five police officers have been lightly injured. One man and one

:02:47. > :02:57.woman were detained in proximity to the apartment. The alleged

:02:58. > :03:02.mastermind is thought to have been involved in the raids this morning.

:03:03. > :03:10.Abdelhamid Abaaoud. He has previously boasted about avoiding

:03:11. > :03:13.the police. He then gave an interview to the Islamic State

:03:14. > :03:17.English-language magazine suggesting he was in Syria. His whereabouts

:03:18. > :03:23.until that in February remained unknown.

:03:24. > :03:25.Belgian authorities had suspected Abaaoud, in his late 20s, of being

:03:26. > :03:29.the head of a terror cell which was smashed in January in the wake of

:03:30. > :03:39.Stade de France, where three suicide bombers

:03:40. > :03:41.blew themselves up during last week's violence in

:03:42. > :03:47.Here are some of the latest pictures of that operation:

:03:48. > :03:49.This footage was filmed at the scene, as you can hear

:03:50. > :04:05.Ben Brown is in northern Paris where that police

:04:06. > :04:17.Tell us the very latest. quite confused situation. Let's tell

:04:18. > :04:24.you what we know so far for sure. That is coming from the Paris

:04:25. > :04:27.prosecutor 's office, beginning at 20 Basque for in the morning local

:04:28. > :04:35.time, as another ambulance goes past me. -- at 4:20am. We are at the end

:04:36. > :04:39.has been going on in Saint Denis. It has been going on in Saint Denis. It

:04:40. > :04:47.began at 4:20am and this was a police raid on an apartment

:04:48. > :04:50.began at 4:20am and this was a there were suspects holed up. There

:04:51. > :04:53.was a series of explosions which local residents heard, obviously

:04:54. > :04:57.terrifying for the people around here. Very loud explosions. It seems

:04:58. > :05:02.that a woman inside the flat blew herself up. Then there was an hour

:05:03. > :05:08.of heavy sustained gunfire down the street here behind me. The operation

:05:09. > :05:14.is still going on. Although it has been much quieter for the last hour.

:05:15. > :05:18.We have not heard any gunfire or explosions for some time. It seems

:05:19. > :05:23.that at one stage there was a pitched battle. One woman blew

:05:24. > :05:26.herself up and there were reports of the fatalities. We know for sure

:05:27. > :05:32.from the Paris prosecutor that three men from the flat were arrested by

:05:33. > :05:35.counterterror police and then separately

:05:36. > :05:36.counterterror police and then Denis and man and woman were also

:05:37. > :05:49.detained. Five people have been detained. Let me show you the scene.

:05:50. > :05:53.-- in Saint-Denis a man and a woman were detained. This area is in

:05:54. > :06:00.lockdown at the moment, lots of police. I had through this line of

:06:01. > :06:07.police vans there are troops from the French army, not just

:06:08. > :06:15.counterterrorism police and gendarmes, this is also the Army.

:06:16. > :06:21.Francois Hollande has said that this is war. Perhaps that is an

:06:22. > :06:26.indication of the war that it believes it is in with Isis. It is a

:06:27. > :06:30.state of emergency which the president wants to extend. Down this

:06:31. > :06:31.end of the street there is a lot of emergency vehicles, ambulances and

:06:32. > :06:36.more police vehicles. This emergency vehicles, ambulances and

:06:37. > :06:40.the outer edges of where the operation has been going on this

:06:41. > :06:44.morning. Through here asked the lines of media who are obviously

:06:45. > :06:48.gathered here this morning, you can see some of the local people here in

:06:49. > :06:52.Saint-Denis who have been their world and by what has been going on.

:06:53. > :06:55.They have been coming up to the red and white line of the

:06:56. > :06:57.They have been coming up to the red just trying to get a sense of what

:06:58. > :07:01.is going just trying to get a sense of what

:07:02. > :07:06.Many of them were woken in the early hours of the morning by the

:07:07. > :07:07.explosions and gunfire. Quite a few of them were utterly terrified as

:07:08. > :07:11.you would expect. If of them were utterly terrified as

:07:12. > :07:15.something like that on your doorstep. Some of them even thought

:07:16. > :07:19.they were under attack themselves from terrorists. But this was a

:07:20. > :07:23.police operation, and their information was that they were after

:07:24. > :07:27.some of the ringleaders and suspects involved in Friday nights attacks

:07:28. > :07:37.which killed 120 -- 129 people. Benson Hoi lives near the scene

:07:38. > :07:48.in Saint-Denis and is currently People living in the area have been

:07:49. > :07:52.told to stay indoors. That is correct. What did you hear this

:07:53. > :07:56.morning? It felt like fireworks for over an hour. This morning at around

:07:57. > :08:05.4:30am and then obviously there was the explosion around two hours ago,

:08:06. > :08:09.the suicide vests. And then we have obviously been hearing in nearly

:08:10. > :08:13.stages that lots of people were trying to get out on the streets to

:08:14. > :08:20.watch it which obviously the police were shouting at them to try to ask

:08:21. > :08:25.them to get back to their flats. How close are you to the apartment that

:08:26. > :08:29.was targeted by the police? To the best of my knowledge it is within

:08:30. > :08:38.walking distance of a couple of minutes. Basically I am situated

:08:39. > :08:49.less than one minute, I can see the cathedral from my flat. I can also

:08:50. > :08:57.see the corner of the street on the other side, so I am in the middle of

:08:58. > :09:01.the police blockade. I understand. Is there much activity that you can

:09:02. > :09:09.see from your window? Are you able to safely show us what is going on?

:09:10. > :09:24.Yes, during the beginning of the attack... I can do a slow panorama

:09:25. > :09:37.of the scene. Obviously insuring my safety, I will do a slow panorama.

:09:38. > :09:46.That side is the cathedral. And this is the Main Street. And what we are

:09:47. > :09:52.looking at now is a lot of army presence which is slowly moving away

:09:53. > :09:59.but they are still here around the scenes. Thank you, we can clearly

:10:00. > :10:03.see the armed response units and it looks like fire engines and also

:10:04. > :10:14.police motorbikes as well. It is very calm down there. It looks like

:10:15. > :10:22.it anyway. INAUDIBLE Looking outside the window... Most

:10:23. > :10:26.people are hiding inside. It is said... Maybe if you move back

:10:27. > :10:31.indoors the connection might strengthen a little bit. Thank you.

:10:32. > :10:38.We can still hear you even if we can't see you. It is said that the

:10:39. > :10:42.main suspect who planned Friday's attacked in your capital is

:10:43. > :10:48.potentially in the apartment that the police are targeting, this

:10:49. > :10:51.Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a Belgian national of Moroccan descent who

:10:52. > :10:56.initially authorities believed was in Syria, but it is now being

:10:57. > :10:59.reported that he could be in an apartment building not far from

:11:00. > :11:14.where you live. How do you respond to that? I would not be surprised.

:11:15. > :11:18.The Saint-Denis area is known among Parisians as being a region with

:11:19. > :11:26.most people from immigrant regions. I'm not surprised. And I suspect

:11:27. > :11:35.that my flatmates would not be surprised too. Do you feel safe? To

:11:36. > :11:43.be honest, I am still in a slight panic mode. My life is at a slight

:11:44. > :11:51.risk here, although the situation is under control. It seems as though I

:11:52. > :11:56.am in the middle of the scene. For now, I can only have faith in the

:11:57. > :12:04.police and the army. Thank you very much for talking to us. We

:12:05. > :12:08.appreciate your time. As you heard, Benson Hoi lives not very far from

:12:09. > :12:12.the scene where the police still are. It's an ongoing situation. This

:12:13. > :12:18.is what we know so far. Our correspondent can recap. We need to

:12:19. > :12:22.divide out where these pieces of information are coming from. What we

:12:23. > :12:25.have been told officially by prosecutors is that a woman inside

:12:26. > :12:29.an apartment set off an explosive vest and died at the beginning of

:12:30. > :12:34.the raid. We are also told that three men who were in the apartment

:12:35. > :12:38.were taken out of the building by anti-terror police and have been

:12:39. > :12:44.detained. And a man and woman were detained nearby. We are also told by

:12:45. > :12:50.other sources, this is coming from either unnamed police sources or

:12:51. > :12:58.from the French media, that possibly a second or third person may have

:12:59. > :13:02.died as well. This is unconfirmed. It is also reported that at least

:13:03. > :13:10.one person is still cut off inside the apartment. That is why the

:13:11. > :13:12.situation is ongoing. Exactly, six hours after this started the

:13:13. > :13:17.operation is still ongoing and it's a lot calmer on the ground. We also

:13:18. > :13:20.hearing that police are checking in and around the apartment for

:13:21. > :13:26.booby-traps. Presumably before they move in to make sure that it's safe

:13:27. > :13:33.for police and the troops in that area to move in. As far is who might

:13:34. > :13:38.be inside the apartment, who might have been inside, it is not clear.

:13:39. > :13:43.We have heard that one of the people suspected of being inside is

:13:44. > :13:47.Abdelhamid Abaaoud. We are told that he is the man suspected of

:13:48. > :13:51.organising the attacks. Again that has not been confirmed and until now

:13:52. > :13:57.it was believed that he was in Syria. Obviously they're also

:13:58. > :14:04.thought to be other connected with these attacks in terms of logistics

:14:05. > :14:12.and finance and arranging for weapons. So as well is the people

:14:13. > :14:15.involved in the attack, those on the periphery. It could be that some of

:14:16. > :14:18.those are involved in the operation as well. We are also told that

:14:19. > :14:25.authorities now believe that there was a ninth attacker, and this was

:14:26. > :14:30.identified through CCTV footage of one of the cars that was believed to

:14:31. > :14:33.be used in one of the attacks. Of those attackers that died on Friday

:14:34. > :14:42.we know that there were seven. We know that Sal Abdallah Islam is on

:14:43. > :14:45.the run although it has not been confirmed that the man who planned

:14:46. > :14:50.all of these attacks across Paris Abdelhamid Abaaoud may well be in

:14:51. > :14:59.this apartment building in Saint-Denis, hence the reason why

:15:00. > :15:03.this situation is ongoing. -- Salah Abdeslam. Police appear to have been

:15:04. > :15:06.surprised by the ferocity of the response that they received when

:15:07. > :15:12.they went into the apartment in the early hours of the morning. At this

:15:13. > :15:16.stage the stand-off is ongoing. It has been going on for six hours now.

:15:17. > :15:19.It began just after dawn this morning in the French suburb of

:15:20. > :15:25.Saint-Denis which is where the Stade Francais is. One of the target of

:15:26. > :15:30.the attacks last Friday where three suicide bombers blew themselves up.

:15:31. > :15:34.An armed operation and intense gunfire heard at around 4:30am UK

:15:35. > :15:40.time in Saint-Denis and again gunfire and a small explosion at

:15:41. > :15:43.6:30am UK time. Police targeting suspects involved in Friday night's

:15:44. > :15:52.terror attacks including Abdelhamid Abaaoud.

:15:53. > :15:59.Two people have been killed including a female suicide bomber

:16:00. > :16:08.who blew herself up. Three men in the apartment have been arrested by

:16:09. > :16:10.anti-terrorist officers. Two people in close proximity to the building

:16:11. > :16:20.have been arrested. Time for in close proximity to the building

:16:21. > :16:22.main news. Two people have died and there have been five arrests during

:16:23. > :16:27.a police operation in there have been five arrests during

:16:28. > :16:32.targeting the mastermind of the attacks. One of those who died was a

:16:33. > :16:36.woman who blew herself up with a suicide vest. France has been

:16:37. > :16:44.continuing its military response to the attacks by bombing the Islamic

:16:45. > :16:50.State stronghold of Raqqa for the third consecutive night. The parents

:16:51. > :16:56.of a teenager who has been missing since the weekend and appealed for

:16:57. > :17:01.her to return home. She was last seen outside her former school in

:17:02. > :17:03.Leicestershire on Friday. Two men are being questioned by the police

:17:04. > :17:20.in connection with her disappearance. The time is 9:31am.

:17:21. > :17:27.We can speak to someone who lives in the district of St Denis and who was

:17:28. > :17:32.woken by the explosions. It started at 4:30am. We were woken up by

:17:33. > :17:40.explosions. At at 4:30am. We were woken up by

:17:41. > :17:48.was fireworks. We realise it was gunfire, we went to the windows to

:17:49. > :17:59.check what was going on, nobody could believe this could happen at

:18:00. > :18:07.this time, then we realised there was an operation going on. Can you

:18:08. > :18:15.tell us a little bit more about St Denis? It is actually outside Paris,

:18:16. > :18:30.it is not in the capital. That is a reason why we were wondering why

:18:31. > :18:37.there was an attack at this place. There were no people on the street

:18:38. > :18:45.at this time. I heard people saying it was a police operation.

:18:46. > :18:51.Instinctively, you stayed indoors? Have you communicated with the

:18:52. > :19:01.police? We had no communication with the police. We did not know it was a

:19:02. > :19:05.police operation. First thing we did was go to the windows, looking at

:19:06. > :19:13.what was going on. Nobody thought about gunshots. When people started

:19:14. > :19:19.to realise there was something serious going on, they stayed inside

:19:20. > :19:25.and close the windows. Initially, you thought this was an attack on

:19:26. > :19:36.where you live? Yes, just on the corner of the street, I could not

:19:37. > :19:52.believe we were into that because it seems so far away. Knows you are

:19:53. > :19:55.aware -- now you are aware that there are people who were possibly

:19:56. > :20:05.involved in the attacks nearby, what do you think of that? It is scary to

:20:06. > :20:16.know that, but they could be everywhere, it is scary for people.

:20:17. > :20:26.Nobody is allowed to go outside, you got to stay at home, police are

:20:27. > :20:34.patrolling in the streets, and... Presumably, friends and relatives

:20:35. > :20:40.have got in touch to ask if you are all Kate. What are you telling them?

:20:41. > :20:48.And telling them I'm fine, we were a little scared during the attack but

:20:49. > :21:11.you feel safe because we were at home. We were just hoping nobody was

:21:12. > :21:18.outside. Now just waiting for the day to return as normal. Thank you

:21:19. > :21:24.for talking to us. This is what we know so far. Major police operation

:21:25. > :21:43.began just after dawn this morning. A woman wearing a suicide vest blew

:21:44. > :21:51.herself up when the police were trying to storm an apartment. Five

:21:52. > :21:54.people have been arrested. It is believed one person is still in the

:21:55. > :22:02.apartment. Five police have been slightly injured. The target of the

:22:03. > :22:07.police raid are the suspected mastermind of the attacks,

:22:08. > :22:15.Abdelhamid Abaaoud, as well as SAP SAP -- as well as Salah Abdeslam. It

:22:16. > :22:32.is not confirmed whether these were in the apartment. Heavy shooting

:22:33. > :22:40.began at 4:20am. It took place to climate is from the national

:22:41. > :22:47.football stadium, roads have been. Full stops some people have been

:22:48. > :22:55.evacuated. Let's talk to our correspondent in the centre of

:22:56. > :23:03.Paris. Presumably, news has filtered through? Absolutely. We were here

:23:04. > :23:07.early this morning and I was breaking this news to many people.

:23:08. > :23:18.The initial reaction was relief that these men might have been caught,

:23:19. > :23:23.shocked that there were so many more, but I think people have got

:23:24. > :23:31.used to it, one man said to me, there will be others. It is very

:23:32. > :23:46.tense here, people are on it, but try to get news to the. The

:23:47. > :23:54.Solidarity, people said it would never hit Harris -- hit Paris again

:23:55. > :23:59.and it has. They are relieved, but there is a sense that this might

:24:00. > :24:04.become a grim reality for the future and the people of France. People

:24:05. > :24:10.realising that perhaps the man behind the attacks on Friday, who we

:24:11. > :24:14.were told was most likely in Syria, could well be just to the north of

:24:15. > :24:25.where you are right now. Absolutely right. Abdelhamid Abaaoud is one of

:24:26. > :24:31.the most notorious Western Jihadi John the world. He is Belgium's most

:24:32. > :24:39.notorious. He has spent the last two years inside Syria recruiting

:24:40. > :24:48.Belgians. Belgium has the highest proportion capita from anywhere in

:24:49. > :24:51.Europe. It sits next to France. This part of Europe has a real problem

:24:52. > :25:00.with extremism and people going to join Isis but the fact that these

:25:01. > :25:10.individuals have be able to not only leave Belgium, crossed the border,

:25:11. > :25:12.and also go to Syria, that is extraordinary and I think there will

:25:13. > :25:19.be real questions about how this has managed to happen. He is a

:25:20. > :25:28.well-known individual, thought to be behind the attack on the real plan.

:25:29. > :25:32.Maybe not a question for today but if it is this individual, it is a

:25:33. > :25:47.great catch to have found him but how embarrassing. Bearing in mind

:25:48. > :25:57.what you've said, there is a theory that the authorities said he was in

:25:58. > :26:01.Syria to give him a sense that they did not know where he was.

:26:02. > :26:11.Definitely not confirmed, just a theory. That might be the case but

:26:12. > :26:16.they could not find Salah Abdeslam and they thought he had gone to

:26:17. > :26:19.Belgium. That might not be the case. The French authorities have

:26:20. > :26:27.certainly got the man they wanted. The fact there were six people in

:26:28. > :26:31.this apartment would suggest, we also heard reports this took two

:26:32. > :26:40.hours to resolve. They were not aware of how many people might have

:26:41. > :26:45.been in this apartment. This is in the context of raids going on

:26:46. > :26:49.throughout France. This might just be a routine raid that turned into

:26:50. > :27:00.them pinpointing the guy they needed. A lot of this is informed

:27:01. > :27:05.guesswork. We will find out the facts soon enough. The fact this man

:27:06. > :27:18.was ill matters away from centre of Paris, for these people, is not

:27:19. > :27:27.reassuring. We will go back to the north. The latest? You can probably

:27:28. > :27:33.see behind me some of the soldiers who are here as well as the police.

:27:34. > :27:50.This is an extraordinary operation. The police and the military joining

:27:51. > :27:53.in. This location is close to the stadium where there were attacks.

:27:54. > :28:00.What has happened here, to bring you up to date, then the street behind

:28:01. > :28:08.me where all these please fans are, they moved in on apartment and that

:28:09. > :28:14.is well they believe the terrorist cell. There were a series of

:28:15. > :28:20.explosions, followed by sustained gunfire for at least one hour. After

:28:21. > :28:27.that, sporadic gunfire and explosions. The reports from the

:28:28. > :28:31.Paris prosecutor office is one woman explosions. The reports from the

:28:32. > :28:42.inside that flat blew herself up early on the road. But there have

:28:43. > :28:50.been five arrests, three from inside and two outside. The operation is

:28:51. > :28:54.continuing and we are hearing as many as five police officers might

:28:55. > :28:59.have been injured. A police dog that was set into the flat has been

:29:00. > :29:06.killed. It is an operation that is continuing. It has been quiet for

:29:07. > :29:12.the last hour or so. We've not heard any more gunfire for quite some

:29:13. > :29:27.time. We are hearing the Prime Minister and the interior minister

:29:28. > :29:40.are here. It appears this is winding down. Who was inside, we don't know

:29:41. > :29:49.yet. The owner has spoken to friends TV. There have been reports one of

:29:50. > :29:56.the men they were looking for was the ringleader of the attacks on

:29:57. > :29:58.Friday night. He is the Belgian of Moroccan origin who is thought to

:29:59. > :30:11.have been the ringleader. Clearly if he was in that flat, or

:30:12. > :30:15.was closely associated with any of the people inside the flat that they

:30:16. > :30:20.have raided, that could be a very important scalp for the intelligence

:30:21. > :30:23.services, the security services. Obviously they have been conducting

:30:24. > :30:28.huge operations here and across France ever since the attacks on

:30:29. > :30:33.Friday. They have been carrying out hundreds of raids at addresses and

:30:34. > :30:38.properties at suspected Islamist extremists pretty much every night

:30:39. > :30:40.since the attacks on Friday. They have

:30:41. > :30:42.since the attacks on Friday. They Whether some of those other

:30:43. > :30:47.breakthroughs led them to this address behind me in Saint-Denis we

:30:48. > :30:50.will have to wait and see. It has certainly been a dramatic and

:30:51. > :30:56.intense operation here. I'm just reading that France 2, a TV station,

:30:57. > :31:01.says that DNA samples have been taken from those arrested.

:31:02. > :31:03.says that DNA samples have been we can see and what you can see,

:31:04. > :31:07.there is we can see and what you can see,

:31:08. > :31:10.suggested that perhaps the operation was winding down. Do we think there

:31:11. > :31:16.is somebody still holed up in the apartment or has that individual

:31:17. > :31:22.been taken away? Well, there were reports, you know, on an event like

:31:23. > :31:24.this clearly there is a lot of confusion and speculation, there

:31:25. > :31:30.were reports that one suspect might still be at large. And possibly

:31:31. > :31:34.holed up in there. I don't think that is probably the case because

:31:35. > :31:39.the officers around here certainly that we have seen are a little bit

:31:40. > :31:43.more relaxed than they were earlier in the operation. We certainly have

:31:44. > :31:48.not heard any gunfire or explosions for quite some time. Probably what

:31:49. > :31:54.is going on is that there is a big brands Corporation in and around the

:31:55. > :32:00.flat where this operation took place. -- there is a big operation.

:32:01. > :32:04.They are potentially looking for any booby-traps which may have been left

:32:05. > :32:08.in the flat or the surrounding buildings. They want to check all of

:32:09. > :32:13.that before opening the road. At the end of it all they seem to have got

:32:14. > :32:18.five suspects detained and at least one woman who blew herself up

:32:19. > :32:24.earlier in the raid. Reports of another person killed early on in

:32:25. > :32:29.fact. Reports of three people killed altogether. We still have not got

:32:30. > :32:32.confirmation on the number of fatalities in all of this but the

:32:33. > :32:36.only absolute fact that we have from the prosecutor 's office is that one

:32:37. > :32:43.woman blew herself up early on as the raid began and the police

:32:44. > :32:46.stormed in. We are showing the audience here live pictures which

:32:47. > :32:53.have shown in a last minute or two police tent. Now the pictures are

:32:54. > :32:58.focusing on an ambulance and various emergency vehicles. The activity of

:32:59. > :33:03.the officials and emergency workers is calm, composed. There is

:33:04. > :33:08.certainly no sense of urgency, presumably they are on stand-by. In

:33:09. > :33:18.case anything should happen. Various ambulances coming into shot. And I

:33:19. > :33:23.think we are now going to show an image of a French police officer who

:33:24. > :33:28.has been led away, slightly limping, hobbling away. We know that various

:33:29. > :33:31.police officers were injured, five is the latest figure. Five police

:33:32. > :33:39.officers have been injured this morning. Presumably the police will

:33:40. > :33:44.be there for some time? I think they will be here all day, to be honest.

:33:45. > :33:48.This is an area of Paris that will be closed off and locked down all

:33:49. > :33:52.day. Hats I could show you what's going on, there is a lot of media

:33:53. > :33:58.where we are, it is cordoned off as you would expect. Just beyond the

:33:59. > :34:03.media there is a second Gordon, red and white tape, where the local

:34:04. > :34:05.media there is a second Gordon, red people of Saint-Denis have come out

:34:06. > :34:14.onto the streets and they are really pretty bewildered. -- a second

:34:15. > :34:19.The schools and public buildings are close down the moment. Potentially

:34:20. > :34:23.for the rest of the day as well. This is a part of Paris that has

:34:24. > :34:32.been brought to a standstill really buy this enormous police operation.

:34:33. > :34:34.It is an indication of how life in Paris is changing, we have the state

:34:35. > :34:38.of emergency at the Paris is changing, we have the state

:34:39. > :34:42.Francois Hollande has said that he wants the operation to continue for

:34:43. > :34:47.three months. He has said that France is a country that is at war.

:34:48. > :34:52.It is at war with terrorism, it is at war with Islamic State. That is

:34:53. > :34:55.why it is incredible to see soldiers... I don't know if you can

:34:56. > :34:59.see them but they are through the trees beyond the police vans.

:35:00. > :35:05.Thereafter wrench Army soldiers still here on the streets. As part

:35:06. > :35:09.of the operation. -- there are French Army soldiers. That is part

:35:10. > :35:13.of the state of emergency that the president wants to last for three

:35:14. > :35:17.months. Parisians and French people are learning that this will have to

:35:18. > :35:25.be how they live for the time being, with the threat, Manuel Baltacha,

:35:26. > :35:30.the Prime Minister said we will have two brace ourselves for more

:35:31. > :35:35.attacks. Whether they were planning another attack or whether there were

:35:36. > :35:40.people their central to the attacks on Friday which killed more than 120

:35:41. > :35:45.people, we don't yet know. This is the kind of incident and drama and

:35:46. > :35:49.fear that people in Paris are learning to come to terms with and

:35:50. > :35:53.live with. For the moment, many thanks. We will be back with Ben

:35:54. > :36:07.Brown in the suburb of Saint-Denis later. There growing moves for air

:36:08. > :36:11.strikes in Syria, David Cameron will go to the House of Commons before

:36:12. > :36:16.Christmas. Norman Smith is at Westminster. Is that right, before

:36:17. > :36:21.Christmas? I think what you will find is that Mr Cameron will set out

:36:22. > :36:27.his arguments to MPs next week, probably Thursday. Then people will

:36:28. > :36:31.take soundings among MPs to see how the arguments have gone down. If

:36:32. > :36:34.they take the view that there is a groundswell of support for action

:36:35. > :36:41.then he will move quickly. Within weeks. Because he wants to have this

:36:42. > :36:42.bowled, if you like, while the horror is still raw. And people

:36:43. > :36:55.asked ill angry. -- this voted It is high risk country. There is no

:36:56. > :37:00.guarantee that he will win. He lost last time and he only has a majority

:37:01. > :37:04.of 12 and we know that there are around 30 Tory MPs who are opposed

:37:05. > :37:09.because you need ground troops to take out Isis in Syria. It is no

:37:10. > :37:13.good bombing from the air. That means getting troops from Muslim

:37:14. > :37:17.countries to sign up to fight on the ground. The SNP say that we will not

:37:18. > :37:23.support you unless you have a UN resolution which is unlikely. This

:37:24. > :37:33.is a flavour of the opposition that he is likely to face. Getting our

:37:34. > :37:38.aircraft employed temporal in the complicated area militarily --

:37:39. > :37:46.embroiled in a complicated area is frankly not an issue. People want to

:37:47. > :37:49.see the reason why the UK adding to the 12 countries already bombing in

:37:50. > :37:54.Syria will make any material difference to the military

:37:55. > :37:57.situation. I want to make sure that innocent people are protected and

:37:58. > :38:01.evil people are punished and that their rain is ended. I want to do

:38:02. > :38:07.that effectively and not in a knee jerk way which might make me feel

:38:08. > :38:12.good for a short time. The key to whether Mr Cameron wins the vote may

:38:13. > :38:16.lie in the hands of Jeremy Corbyn. He has signalled that he is not in

:38:17. > :38:21.the market for pretty much any military action come what may. Mr

:38:22. > :38:28.Cameron, if he is to win the vote, given that a number of MPs, the SNP,

:38:29. > :38:32.and the Lib Dems are against it, he will have to win over Labour MPs. Mr

:38:33. > :38:38.Corbyn is saying no, we don't want to support military action. And the

:38:39. > :38:43.signs are that he is not going to give his MPs a free vote. It comes

:38:44. > :38:48.down to this, how many Labour MPs will be willing to defy Mr Corbyn

:38:49. > :38:53.and back David Cameron? The indications are that there could be

:38:54. > :38:59.a sizeable number. Here is one of them, Mary Creagh. We have seen the

:39:00. > :39:04.consequences of doing nothing in the past two years, the free Syrian army

:39:05. > :39:08.have been all but destroyed, the terrorism that Assad has provoked

:39:09. > :39:13.against his own people has led to Islamic State moving in. We have

:39:14. > :39:16.seen a loose network lying themselves with them and they are

:39:17. > :39:24.not just going to go away, they will carry on recruiting. Maiming women

:39:25. > :39:27.and enslaving children, throwing gay men off buildings and beheading

:39:28. > :39:32.humanitarians and journalists. It is our duty to defend our country from

:39:33. > :39:36.them. It is a funny old world, the outcome of the vote, David

:39:37. > :39:44.Cameron's political standing and whether we bomb may hinge Hammond

:39:45. > :39:50.loyalty Jeremy Corbyn can command among his own MPs. The in no doubt,

:39:51. > :39:55.this really is high stakes because if Mr Cameron loses, that is a

:39:56. > :40:02.massive, massive political blow. More than that, it is a huge setback

:40:03. > :40:06.potentially to our diplomatic clout in the region and quite possibly a

:40:07. > :40:13.massive propaganda coup for Islamic State. This is high-stakes. Have a

:40:14. > :40:17.moment, many thanks. Welcome to the programme. We are keeping you

:40:18. > :40:21.up-to-date with developing events in the northern suburb of Paris called

:40:22. > :40:24.Saint-Denis. Daniel Bircher is going to update you on what has been

:40:25. > :40:30.happening since four o'clock this morning. This is six and a half

:40:31. > :40:35.hours since this started. It is reported that this is still ongoing

:40:36. > :40:38.and that there is at least one person still inside the apartment.

:40:39. > :40:42.From the pictures we are seeing and reports from our correspondents on

:40:43. > :40:46.the ground, that perhaps is not as clear as you would imagine because

:40:47. > :40:51.things seem to be a lot calmer on the ground. We don't know whether it

:40:52. > :40:55.is ongoing at the moment. The fact that we have from the Paris

:40:56. > :40:58.prosecutor are that one woman inside the apartment set off an explosive

:40:59. > :41:04.vest and died. This was at the beginning of the raid. Three men who

:41:05. > :41:08.were in the apartment that was targeted by this operation have been

:41:09. > :41:10.were in the apartment that was taken out of the building by

:41:11. > :41:12.anti-terrorist and they have been detained. And that a

:41:13. > :41:20.anti-terrorist and they have been have been stopped and detained

:41:21. > :41:23.nearby. We are told by an unnamed police official that in fact two

:41:24. > :41:27.people have been killed, as well as the woman who appears to

:41:28. > :41:32.people have been killed, as well as herself up, a man has also been

:41:33. > :41:35.killed. Again that has not been confirmed. Five police officers have

:41:36. > :41:43.been injured although those injuries are not thought to be serious at the

:41:44. > :41:47.moment. We are also told that police have been checking for booby traps

:41:48. > :41:52.around that apartment, presumably before they going to try to secure

:41:53. > :41:55.any evidence that they can find. French television is also reporting

:41:56. > :42:00.that DNA samples are being taken from those who have been detained to

:42:01. > :42:05.try to establish their identity is. A little bit more about the people

:42:06. > :42:12.in the apartment that has been targeted by French armed police. --

:42:13. > :42:16.their identities. A witness living in the apartment below the one

:42:17. > :42:21.targeted by the parities, the man who let them live there seemed to be

:42:22. > :42:25.in charge of a squat. And this particular witness said that three

:42:26. > :42:28.people, two men and a woman apparently moved in very recently

:42:29. > :42:34.and the woman he had seen around Saint-Denis. The two men he had not

:42:35. > :42:39.seen before. The woman told him that they were from Belgium. This is

:42:40. > :42:45.according to a witness living in the same apartment block where the

:42:46. > :42:47.suspect were targeted this morning. Three people, two men and a woman

:42:48. > :42:53.moved in recently and Three people, two men and a woman

:42:54. > :42:55.the two men he had never seen before and he had spoken to the woman, she

:42:56. > :43:00.said that they were all from and he had spoken to the woman, she

:43:01. > :43:03.Belgium. Also in Saint-Denis the schools in the area are closed as

:43:04. > :43:08.you would expect and we have spoken to two people living close by to the

:43:09. > :43:13.apartment that was targeted. Those residents have obviously been asked

:43:14. > :43:17.not to leave their homes. They were nervous, it's fair to say. Nervous

:43:18. > :43:22.about the proximity to the police operation this morning. We have

:43:23. > :43:25.heard from a lot of residents who witnessed this, most of them heard

:43:26. > :43:31.what was going on rather than saw the costs they were told to stay

:43:32. > :43:36.inside. -- because they were. There were reports of gunfire possibly

:43:37. > :43:39.from automatic weapons, and also from explosions which some people

:43:40. > :43:44.believed may have been grenades. At one point there was a succession of

:43:45. > :43:50.seven explosions in a short period of time. This was clearly a large

:43:51. > :43:55.operation, as well as the police officers, the army has also been

:43:56. > :43:59.involved. In terms of exactly who might have been in the building, who

:44:00. > :44:07.might have been detained, it has been reported that officials believe

:44:08. > :44:12.that Abdelhamid Abaaoud was in the apartment. He was the man suspected

:44:13. > :44:16.of organising the attacks in Paris. That has not been confirmed. Up

:44:17. > :44:22.until now it had been believed all reported that he was actually in

:44:23. > :44:27.Syria. -- or reported. There might have been a ninth attacker and that

:44:28. > :44:30.emerged from CCTV footage, whether that person might have been one of

:44:31. > :44:37.those inside this apartment, we don't know. There is also some new

:44:38. > :44:45.information on Sal Al-Abbas Lamb, the suspect whose photograph was

:44:46. > :44:53.published quite soon after the attacks. -- Salah Abdeslam. He was

:44:54. > :44:56.on an EU wide police list when he was stopped in Austria in September

:44:57. > :45:04.having moved from Germany to Austria. The parities say that his

:45:05. > :45:07.presence was reported back to the Belgian authorities. That tells us

:45:08. > :45:13.nothing about where he might be now. It does add to the pressure on the

:45:14. > :45:18.French authorities to explain why this plot was not picked up, why it

:45:19. > :45:26.was not stopped. This is being reported on French television,

:45:27. > :45:31.France 2. The members of the terror cell that was raided in

:45:32. > :45:41.France 2. The members of the terror the northern suburb of Paris, where

:45:42. > :45:46.planning a new attack against Place de la Defence. That is the business

:45:47. > :45:49.district. I am just reading about this. The police moved into

:45:50. > :45:51.Saint-Denis because of a planned attack on the business district of

:45:52. > :46:12.Paris. Being reminded that a French soldier

:46:13. > :46:21.was stabbed and survived. Good morning. A tense stand-off continues

:46:22. > :46:30.in the St Denis area of Paris. The police have said two people have

:46:31. > :46:37.been killed in a major stand-off with the suspect said to have

:46:38. > :46:41.planned Friday's attacks. Reports are that one of the people who

:46:42. > :46:47.killed themselves up was a woman with a suicide vest. Five police

:46:48. > :46:54.officers have been injured. Still in panic mode. My life is at risk here,

:46:55. > :47:12.even though the situation is control. I'm live in central Paris,

:47:13. > :47:19.gauging the reaction to the news that the mastermind might have been

:47:20. > :47:23.caught. It has been reported two people have died and have been five

:47:24. > :47:28.arrests during a police operation in Paris thought to be targeting the

:47:29. > :47:34.mastermind of the attacks. The police said one of those who died

:47:35. > :47:42.was a woman who blew herself up with a suicide vest. It is believed that

:47:43. > :47:47.one person is still holed up in an apartment. The police raid began in

:47:48. > :48:02.the early hours of the morning to the north of Paris. These two plays

:48:03. > :48:08.in the same district where the Stata -- where the stadium is. The focus

:48:09. > :48:17.is this man. He is the alleged planner behind the attacks.

:48:18. > :48:26.Intelligence reports suggested Abdelhamid Abaaoud coordinated the

:48:27. > :48:30.attacks from Syria but he is now believed to be one of the people who

:48:31. > :48:36.was in the apartment. France has been bombing the Islamic State

:48:37. > :48:42.stronghold of Raqqa for the third consecutive night. Russian

:48:43. > :48:53.long-range missiles also hit the city. Going back to the centre of

:48:54. > :49:03.Paris. What is the reaction of people they are to the events of the

:49:04. > :49:07.morning? People are relieved, this individual might have been

:49:08. > :49:10.apprehended. I spent the morning talking to people who'd been laying

:49:11. > :49:23.their tributes. It has become the focal point. There is a sense of

:49:24. > :49:27.relief but also a sense of worry. Worry that this man and his

:49:28. > :49:34.associates might have been on the outskirts of Paris, and also that

:49:35. > :49:42.this is not the last, necessarily, of these sorts of attacks in Paris.

:49:43. > :49:49.The sense was, never again. It has happened again and it has happened

:49:50. > :49:58.even worse this time. People are getting used to a new world. The

:49:59. > :50:07.tension has been very high and I don't think this operation, even

:50:08. > :50:13.though it will reassure people, I don't think anything will really

:50:14. > :50:19.change in the long run. This is what we know so far. A major police

:50:20. > :50:26.operation has been going on since early this morning. A woman blew

:50:27. > :50:32.herself up with a suicide vest when police tried to storm an apartment.

:50:33. > :50:40.Five people have been arrested. It is believed one person is still in

:50:41. > :50:45.the apartment. Not confirmed. The ports are confusing at the moment,

:50:46. > :51:00.which is understandable. The targets of the raid... It was Abdelhamid

:51:01. > :51:09.Abaaoud, Salah Abdeslam and an unnamed third person. The police

:51:10. > :51:14.have said they believe Salah Abdeslam was in the apartment with

:51:15. > :51:19.five other heavily armed people and offices were met with violent heavy

:51:20. > :51:30.resistance. Five of them have been slightly injured. Heavy shooting

:51:31. > :51:37.began at 4:20am, local time. It took place near the stadium. Roads have

:51:38. > :51:48.been closed off. Residents have been told to stay away from there in

:51:49. > :51:55.the. In the past few minutes, French media are reporting that the

:51:56. > :52:08.terrorist suspects were a team planning a new terrorist attack in

:52:09. > :52:15.Paris's business district. We can talk now to another person with at

:52:16. > :52:23.flat in this part of town. How are you feeling? I don't really know.

:52:24. > :52:39.flat in this part of town. How are What did you hear? I saw lots of

:52:40. > :52:58.people talking about Saint Denis. I opened my Windows, I heard

:52:59. > :53:08.explosions, 50 shots, helicopter I just put on my TV and I saw it had

:53:09. > :53:36.been just next to my house. How far away is your flat from the gunfire?

:53:37. > :53:41.Two minutes. The police take us to one side, they tell us to close our

:53:42. > :53:52.windows and doors and feel safe. Do you feel safe? Not really. Is there

:53:53. > :53:59.is nothing you can do except wait for this authority is. British

:54:00. > :54:12.audience might not know much about the place where you live, can you

:54:13. > :54:24.tell us about it? I have never seen cops like this, helicopter, never

:54:25. > :54:42.seen that. Thank you very much for talking to us. Let's read with our

:54:43. > :54:50.reporter in the centre of Paris. Probably worth going over what has

:54:51. > :54:58.happened this morning. At 4:30am, a police operation began in a suburb

:54:59. > :55:04.of Paris. It is a suburb in which the national stadium is located.

:55:05. > :55:11.They targeted an apartment where it was believed fugitives had

:55:12. > :55:14.barricaded themselves. We now understand there were six people in

:55:15. > :55:22.that apartment, reports of explosions, sustained gunfire. The

:55:23. > :55:36.police and the Armed Forces are on the streets as we speak. The gunfire

:55:37. > :55:42.has subsided. We believe one man has either escaped or is still inside.

:55:43. > :55:50.We are not sure. Two people killed including a woman who set a suicide

:55:51. > :55:58.vest off. There have been injuries on the police side, including the

:55:59. > :56:07.death of a police dog. We understand there have been some arrests as

:56:08. > :56:16.well. And as you can understand, it is a situation that is moving

:56:17. > :56:20.quickly. News has dropped that these individuals were planning another

:56:21. > :56:31.terrorist attack in the city, this time in the business district. It

:56:32. > :56:47.would have hit commercial interests and been a devastating attack. These

:56:48. > :56:55.are the facts as we have them. People are coming to terms with the

:56:56. > :57:01.fact that this is their new reality. And news channel is saying in this

:57:02. > :57:08.particular flat there were six people. I woman blew herself up,

:57:09. > :57:28.another man was killed by snipers, three were arrested and another one

:57:29. > :57:38.was not accounted for. The body is sure at this stage if this person is

:57:39. > :57:43.still in the flat or has escaped. Let's talk to a reporter at the

:57:44. > :57:49.scene. You've been speaking to many people, what do they say to you? I

:57:50. > :58:03.came here early in the morning, around 6:30am. We heard an explosion

:58:04. > :58:12.and probably we think it is the woman who blew herself up. We spoke

:58:13. > :58:15.to people living close by, soldiers came to their houses and told them

:58:16. > :58:25.what was happening, handwritten papers everywhere saying there was

:58:26. > :58:40.an operation. The situation was really tense. You saw soldiers on

:58:41. > :58:45.this street. It is still going on. In terms of what you know about who

:58:46. > :58:54.might still be in that flat, what are you getting? Is different

:58:55. > :59:01.information. We don't know if the mastermind is still alive, if he is

:59:02. > :59:09.inside the house or not. We are waiting for information. What is

:59:10. > :59:18.confirmed is that five people are arrested, three of them were inside

:59:19. > :59:26.the flat. We don't know if this terrorist is still inside. Some

:59:27. > :59:36.media are reporting they were planning a new attack on the

:59:37. > :59:41.business district of Paris. We heard this. It is a big discussion going

:59:42. > :59:48.on. The police and the military don't give us further information on

:59:49. > :59:55.that. They just say that it is going on, we cannot give you more detail

:59:56. > :59:59.because of security concerns. I think we've got to wait, and check

:00:00. > :00:19.the information. You can see behind me some of the

:00:20. > :00:25.soldiers who are here as well as the police. This is an extraordinary

:00:26. > :00:31.operation. Police and the military joining in this operation here in

:00:32. > :00:37.the streets of Paris in this suburb, Saint-Denis, in the north of Paris,

:00:38. > :00:41.close to the Stade de France. Where there were attacks on Friday night

:00:42. > :00:45.at the Stade de France and nearby. What has happened here, just to

:00:46. > :00:49.bring you up-to-date, at What has happened here, just to

:00:50. > :00:53.local time, down that street behind me where the police vans are, police

:00:54. > :00:59.moved in on an apartment where they believe there was a terror cell or

:01:00. > :01:03.certainly suspects involved in the Friday night attacks. There was a

:01:04. > :01:08.series of explosions followed by sustained gunfire for at least an

:01:09. > :01:13.hour. Then continuously after that sporadic gunfire and explosions as

:01:14. > :01:18.well. It had been going on for hours. Reports and confirmation from

:01:19. > :01:24.the Paris prosecutor 's office is that one woman inside the flat blew

:01:25. > :01:30.herself up earlier in the raid. There may have been another fatality

:01:31. > :01:33.as well. Also according to the Paris prosecutor, five arrests, three men

:01:34. > :01:39.inside and a man and a woman outside were arrested. The operation is

:01:40. > :01:43.continuing and as many as five officers involved in the raid may

:01:44. > :01:50.have been injured and a police dog has been killed. It's an operation

:01:51. > :01:54.that is still continuing and it has not been... I have to say it has

:01:55. > :01:59.been quiet for the past hour. We have not heard any more gunfire or

:02:00. > :02:02.explosions for quite some time. We are also hearing that the Prime

:02:03. > :02:07.Minister and interior Minister are here. It appears that this is an

:02:08. > :02:11.operation that is winding down and they have been checking for

:02:12. > :02:16.booby-trap devices in and around the flat that was involved in the police

:02:17. > :02:21.raid. Who exactly was involved inside the flat, we don't yet know.

:02:22. > :02:24.We have heard from the owner who has spoken to French television saying

:02:25. > :02:30.that he was asked by a friend to let a few people, let a couple of people

:02:31. > :02:35.stay in the flat for a few days. As more police vehicles come here

:02:36. > :02:39.behind me, there have been some reports that one of the men they

:02:40. > :02:45.were looking for was the ringleader of the attacks on Friday night,

:02:46. > :02:49.27-year-old Abdelhamid Abaaoud. He is the Belgian of Moroccan origin

:02:50. > :02:53.who is thought to have been the ringleader, the mastermind, the key

:02:54. > :02:59.architect of the attacks on Friday night that killed 129 people. If he

:03:00. > :03:03.was in the flat or was closely associated with any people in the

:03:04. > :03:08.flat that they have raided, then that could be a very important scalp

:03:09. > :03:12.for the intelligence services and security services. They have

:03:13. > :03:16.obviously been conducting huge operations here across France ever

:03:17. > :03:21.since the attacks on Friday night. They have been carrying out hundreds

:03:22. > :03:24.of raids at addresses and properties of suspected Islamist extremists,

:03:25. > :03:30.pretty much every night since the attacks on Friday. They have made

:03:31. > :03:33.other breakthroughs. Whether some of those breakthroughs did lead them to

:03:34. > :03:38.this address down this road behind me in Saint-Denis we will have to

:03:39. > :03:43.wait and see. It has been a dramatic and intense operation here,

:03:44. > :03:46.Victoria. This is being reported by the Associated Press, seven people

:03:47. > :03:56.have now been arrested in raids in Saint-Denis. In case you are just

:03:57. > :03:59.tuning in, a woman wearing an explosive suicide vest blew herself

:04:00. > :04:04.up as police tried to storm a suburban Paris apartment where the

:04:05. > :04:09.suspected organiser of the attacks was believed to be holed up. One man

:04:10. > :04:16.was also killed and five people arrested and it is still continuing.

:04:17. > :04:20.It is not clear whether one person remains inside the apartment

:04:21. > :04:23.building in Saint-Denis. It is unclear at the moment. A senior

:04:24. > :04:29.police official says that he believes the person who was behind

:04:30. > :04:33.the attacks Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a Belgian Islamic State militant, was

:04:34. > :04:36.inside the apartment but it has not been confirmed. What has been

:04:37. > :04:41.confirmed is that police have now arrested seven people linked to the

:04:42. > :04:44.attacks on Friday. A couple of messages from you as you are

:04:45. > :04:53.watching and listening to us. This text from Bernie says, the people

:04:54. > :04:59.are not broken or scared, they are determined to carry on. I am on tour

:05:00. > :05:08.managing a band from San Francisco who played the first gig since the

:05:09. > :05:14.attack. The place was full. Bob on Twitter says the UK should do the

:05:15. > :05:20.same, raid sympathisers' homes, it is time to stop dithering. Let's go

:05:21. > :05:27.back to Paris and James Longman is there in the centre. Yes, as I said

:05:28. > :05:33.earlier we have been gauging reaction to locals here, to a

:05:34. > :05:37.fraught few days and obviously these developments this morning. Joining

:05:38. > :05:42.me now is Judith, she is British but lives in Paris. Thank you for

:05:43. > :05:47.joining us. What is it like in Paris at the moment? It's very quiet.

:05:48. > :05:51.People are walking more slowly than usual, and you can see that people

:05:52. > :05:56.are really thinking more deeply than they usually do. If you have any

:05:57. > :06:00.kind of human feeling at all you can feel that people are in pain and

:06:01. > :06:06.asking questions. Quite a few people have lost loved ones or people who

:06:07. > :06:11.have had near is Gates, and it is something about the French, they are

:06:12. > :06:14.resistant but they do show emotions. --

:06:15. > :06:18.resistant but they do show emotions. can't help but be touched. Have you

:06:19. > :06:23.had friends affected by what happened on Friday? I had friends

:06:24. > :06:29.and family that could have been involved but they left the area

:06:30. > :06:34.before it happened. I am involved in a local Democratic People's Council

:06:35. > :06:40.just up the road. They told me that somebody from the area where I live,

:06:41. > :06:44.the neighbouring area, was killed, even though I did not know the

:06:45. > :06:51.person. You still look at people's faces on the Metro and you can tell

:06:52. > :06:56.that someone was affected. It is a lot of sorrow. They will get over

:06:57. > :06:58.it. I wanted to say thank you to the Brits for last night because I know

:06:59. > :07:02.that the French were really Brits for last night because I know

:07:03. > :07:13.by the Marseillaise at Wembley and the show of solidarity. I know as a

:07:14. > :07:16.British person that all of this stuff about the British not liking

:07:17. > :07:21.the French and vice versa, that is not true and there is a lot of

:07:22. > :07:23.sympathy underneath. Can you tell me about Friday about where

:07:24. > :07:25.sympathy underneath. Can you tell me and what was going through your

:07:26. > :07:31.mind? Yes. It is quite specific because I was at a prayer meeting

:07:32. > :07:36.with friends in the 93 department which is unfortunately where a lot

:07:37. > :07:42.of action is happening at the moment, but not in that sector. I

:07:43. > :07:45.live about a mile up the road, as I said, in the neighbouring area to

:07:46. > :07:49.where this happened. I did not know anything about it and I got the text

:07:50. > :07:55.from a friend at the same prayer meeting saying, are you all right?

:07:56. > :08:03.She said, turn on the telly. I don't have a telly but I turned on the

:08:04. > :08:06.computer. It was surreal. People started me sending messages on

:08:07. > :08:12.Facebook wanting to know what was happening. We have all been told to

:08:13. > :08:17.stay inside. Then I added, this is not a joke. Obviously pray for

:08:18. > :08:26.Paris, that is one of the slogans that even people of no faith have

:08:27. > :08:29.put on their Facebook pages. There was an operation in Saint-Denis,

:08:30. > :08:36.what is your reaction? I'm not at also prized. I think most people are

:08:37. > :08:40.not either. -- I am not at all surprised. I'm determined to carry

:08:41. > :08:44.on with my life and if I had a paintbrush I would go and write on

:08:45. > :08:52.that statue that God is not like that. These people have a very

:08:53. > :09:00.twisted idea of spirituality, and we have two showed the difference, God

:09:01. > :09:07.is not like that. This morning we understand that the mastermind has

:09:08. > :09:12.been apprehended, that may be the case. Does it make you feel safer?

:09:13. > :09:19.Yes and no. I have my own views on wife and I don't feel intimidated in

:09:20. > :09:23.that sense. -- views on life. I am glad that they have found him

:09:24. > :09:28.because that is one more person being put away who could mastermind

:09:29. > :09:33.things that may really trouble other people but I have to say that I know

:09:34. > :09:39.it is a very sensitive subject but I do think the French authorities

:09:40. > :09:43.could do more, and I do believe that the president and other people

:09:44. > :09:46.involved realise that. I do think that people won't feel safe as long

:09:47. > :09:53.as they know that people are allowed to roam around. Who have been

:09:54. > :09:56.noticed as being terrorists but they are allowed to go around the country

:09:57. > :10:01.even though they have committed terrorist acts. I do not think

:10:02. > :10:05.anyone will feel safe, and that is not a political statement, that is

:10:06. > :10:09.just how everyone feels and the political parties are beginning to

:10:10. > :10:13.realise that they have to act for people who have already been

:10:14. > :10:17.identified. You are British but you are also French, which country would

:10:18. > :10:25.you be safer in? That's a very interesting question. At the moment

:10:26. > :10:29.possibly the UK, possibly the UK. But I don't think that is always the

:10:30. > :10:32.case and it really depends on the news and what is going on and what

:10:33. > :10:37.these people get into their heads about who their enemies are. They

:10:38. > :10:39.just want to hurt as many people as possible and they choose the target

:10:40. > :10:51.which will create the most media buzz. Being British but being French

:10:52. > :10:59.also, you can kind of understand the differences between the sense of

:11:00. > :11:02.proud history of freedom in France, and do you think that will change

:11:03. > :11:08.and will there be something around the balance between security and

:11:09. > :11:12.liberty and will that outweigh that and change in France in the future?

:11:13. > :11:21.It depends on what you mean by liberty. We do say in France that my

:11:22. > :11:26.liberty stops where yours starts. There is also the liberty of the

:11:27. > :11:30.victims to walk around and be free. And not to be in fear and not be

:11:31. > :11:35.killed because they happened to go to a concert or a cafe. It depends

:11:36. > :11:42.what you mean by liberty, it is not just liberty to kill people and

:11:43. > :11:46.introduced a reign of terror, you have to be careful in how you define

:11:47. > :11:54.liberty because we should not be free to kill. Somebody wrote that

:11:55. > :12:01.you should not kill, on the statue, behind there. It depends what you

:12:02. > :12:05.mean by that. It is a complicated situation, the French still reeling

:12:06. > :12:08.from the attacks on Friday. Judith anyway seems upbeat about the future

:12:09. > :12:13.for the country that she now calls home. Thank you, James. We are now

:12:14. > :12:18.going to show you pictures of what looks like a naked man being removed

:12:19. > :12:23.from the scene in Saint-Denis. They are about an hour old, some of you

:12:24. > :12:27.spotted this earlier. When we were showing it to you live. At the back

:12:28. > :12:32.of the right gazebo you might be able to see the legs of a naked man.

:12:33. > :12:36.We have no idea if he is a suspect or if he happened to be in the

:12:37. > :12:40.building and he was stripped for safety reasons. He is at the back of

:12:41. > :12:46.the tent being escorted away by armed police. Those pictures are

:12:47. > :12:53.about an hour old but we have no information on who the individual

:12:54. > :12:59.is. I should tell you that regarding the conversation that James was

:13:00. > :13:03.having with Judith a moment ago and whether or not the man who planned

:13:04. > :13:06.the attacks on Friday Abdelhamid Abaaoud, whether he was

:13:07. > :13:17.apprehended, we cannot say for sure either way. One TV channel, BFM is

:13:18. > :13:27.saying that there were six people in the flat, one was shot by snipers.

:13:28. > :13:32.No one is clear on whether there is still an individual in the flat. It

:13:33. > :13:36.is a fast-moving situation with lots of disparate pieces of information,

:13:37. > :13:40.some of them are unconfirmed. This is what we know, and major police

:13:41. > :13:44.operation has been going on in Saint-Denis since the early hours of

:13:45. > :13:48.the morning. A woman wearing a suicide vest blew herself up when

:13:49. > :13:52.heavily armed police tried to storm an apartment.

:13:53. > :14:02.Police say that another man was killed and seven people arrested. It

:14:03. > :14:08.is thought one person is still holed up in the apartment. The targets of

:14:09. > :14:12.the raid, the suspects behind those attacks on Friday night, in

:14:13. > :14:19.particular 27-year-old Abdelhamid Abaaoud, as well as Salah Abdeslam,

:14:20. > :14:23.as well as a ninth attack afford to be involved in the attacks on Friday

:14:24. > :14:27.night. A senior police offers has told a news agency that he believes

:14:28. > :14:32.that Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a Belgian Islamic State militant, was inside

:14:33. > :14:34.the apartment with five other heavily armed people and that

:14:35. > :14:39.officers were met with violent resistance when they stormed the

:14:40. > :14:44.building. Five police officers were slightly injured and one police dog

:14:45. > :14:48.was killed. Heavy shooting including automatic gunfire and explosions

:14:49. > :14:53.began at 4:20am local time. The raid took place two calamitous from the

:14:54. > :14:57.Stade Francais, one of the targets of Friday's attacks. Roads were

:14:58. > :15:01.closed off. Residents were told to stay away from windows and some have

:15:02. > :15:06.been moved to a temporary shelter in the town hall. Public transport has

:15:07. > :15:11.been suspended and schools closed. In the past few minutes French media

:15:12. > :15:17.have reported that the suspected terrorists in the apartment in

:15:18. > :15:30.Saint-Denis were a team" planning a new terrorist attack in Paris's

:15:31. > :15:34.ladder -- business district". Let's talk to a journalist based in

:15:35. > :15:41.Germany. He is on the scene. Phil us in with the latest.

:15:42. > :15:50.This Ten minutes ago we heard what sounded like another explosion, we

:15:51. > :16:05.got here at 530 with the first news crew, there was sporadic gunfire.

:16:06. > :16:10.They narrowed down to a small street which was where the explosions came

:16:11. > :16:16.from, then after that, they were searching from street to street.

:16:17. > :16:34.There may be at least one person and accounted

:16:35. > :16:39.There may be at least one person and over. Is that your impression? Yes.

:16:40. > :16:47.After the explosion over. Is that your impression? Yes.

:16:48. > :16:47.dying down of tension. Then there was armed

:16:48. > :16:59.dying down of tension. Then there the streets. Make sure the streets

:17:00. > :17:07.were secure. From the information you're trying to gather, does it

:17:08. > :17:14.mean nobody is left in that apartment building? That is what

:17:15. > :17:19.mean nobody is left in that team on the ground saw.

:17:20. > :17:23.mean nobody is left in that evidence gatherers turn up with

:17:24. > :17:37.cameras and forensics teams. The police taking off their helmets. It

:17:38. > :17:39.seemed as if the operation was over. So the last explosion you heard was

:17:40. > :17:51.when? We are not quite sure. There was something that sounded like an

:17:52. > :17:53.explosion in 15 minutes ago but it might just be the police making sure

:17:54. > :18:03.it was completely secure. We might just be the police making sure

:18:04. > :18:04.get right up to the scene of might just be the police making sure

:18:05. > :18:16.suspects were. Thank you very might just be the police making sure

:18:17. > :18:20.John. Have you heard this? It is what we are hearing as well and I

:18:21. > :18:27.think effectively it has been over for a while. It has certainly been

:18:28. > :18:34.very quiet for some time. Initially, there were those huge explosions,

:18:35. > :18:41.sustained gunfire, then, really, we have not heard anything like that.

:18:42. > :18:45.At the end of it all, what we do know for sure, the street where it

:18:46. > :18:52.happened is just know for sure, the street where it

:18:53. > :18:54.these bands. This woman inside the flat blew herself up and another

:18:55. > :18:59.gunman inside the flat was flat blew herself up and another

:19:00. > :19:04.and French media are reporting he was killed by a police sniper and

:19:05. > :19:10.there were three others arrested from the flat after this gun battle.

:19:11. > :19:16.there were three others arrested The whereabouts of a sick person was

:19:17. > :19:20.unknown but then another person was led away. Two others were arrested

:19:21. > :19:31.outside. We are hearing there have been some casualties. Five officers

:19:32. > :19:39.injured and a police dog, a 7 -year-old dog was killed, having

:19:40. > :19:52.been sent into that flat. It has been a dramatic day, it began just

:19:53. > :19:54.after 4am. This area is a very ethnically mixed area. Very

:19:55. > :20:09.cosmopolitan and just down the road from the football stadium which was

:20:10. > :20:14.the scene of one of the attacks. It has been a very dramatic morning but

:20:15. > :20:21.it looks like finally the operation is dying down. We have heard that

:20:22. > :20:28.the Prime Minister and the interior minister are here, looking at the

:20:29. > :20:40.police work. What we need to know is if the man who planned the attacks

:20:41. > :20:44.is in custody or dead. Yes, that is one of the key questions. It was

:20:45. > :20:49.reported he was one of the targets of this raid. We don't even know if

:20:50. > :20:55.he was in the flat. Obviously, if he was and they have killed or captured

:20:56. > :21:07.him, that is potentially a big scalp. He is reported to have been

:21:08. > :21:17.the mastermind behind the attacks on Friday night. This man, originally

:21:18. > :21:27.from Morocco, has lived in Brussels, a radical. An organiser within. He

:21:28. > :21:38.had posted before about how he's managed to slip away from a previous

:21:39. > :21:51.raid. We don't know whether he was in the flat down the street behind

:21:52. > :21:54.me. We know there are reports this was a terrorist cell that was

:21:55. > :22:10.planning another operation in Paris, another atrocity on top of what we

:22:11. > :22:20.saw on Friday night. We will bring you the latest news headlines. There

:22:21. > :22:23.are reports the armed police raid is over. Two people are thought to have

:22:24. > :22:29.died including a woman who blew herself up. Seven arrests were made

:22:30. > :22:36.and several police officers injured. The suspected terrorists in the

:22:37. > :22:47.apartment were planning a new attack, it is being reported. The

:22:48. > :22:53.raid began in the early hours, to the north of Paris. Heavy gunfire

:22:54. > :23:02.and explosions were heard. This all took place in an apartment in the

:23:03. > :23:15.same district as the stadium. The focus is believed to have been this

:23:16. > :23:18.man, Abdelhamid Abaaoud. But. Initial reports suggested he had

:23:19. > :23:22.coordinated the attacks from Syria but it is now thought he could be

:23:23. > :23:28.one of the people who were in the apartment. France has continued its

:23:29. > :23:34.military response to the attacks by bombing the Islamic state stronghold

:23:35. > :23:43.of Raqqa for the third consecutive night. We are staying with the

:23:44. > :23:51.breaking news. We will keep you up-to-date. Now we are going to talk

:23:52. > :23:57.to two British survivors from the Bataclan Theatre. They have not told

:23:58. > :24:05.their story publicly but they got in touch with us yesterday following

:24:06. > :24:09.our interview yesterday. Thomas yesterday told us he saw people

:24:10. > :24:16.covered in blood and the attackers still shooting. We saw people

:24:17. > :24:25.covered in blood, they were still shooting. I believe it was 15

:24:26. > :24:34.minutes I stayed down for, I don't really know. They continuously shot

:24:35. > :24:47.at us. Some people said they were going upstairs, I thought they would

:24:48. > :24:55.be shooting us from above and we will die. That was the only moment I

:24:56. > :25:31.lifted my head up, there was nobody. That saved my life. I tried

:25:32. > :25:36.to run. There were a lot of bodies. Fight had made my move earlier I

:25:37. > :25:49.would be dead. If it had been later, I would be dead. There were injured

:25:50. > :25:50.people outside as well. I just ran. I know that many of you will

:25:51. > :26:04.remember him for this. You can find the interview on our

:26:05. > :26:14.programme page. Just Dean and Tony were in the balcony of the

:26:15. > :26:24.Bataclan. -- just. I know that you were watching Thomas yesterday, what

:26:25. > :26:29.were you thinking? We had a similar feeling of compassion and love for

:26:30. > :26:37.people. It really came across to us. It was exactly how we felt. There is

:26:38. > :26:44.a lot of heat being thrown about -- anger, and we do not feel any of

:26:45. > :26:48.it. We have been through a traumatic experience and we are incredibly

:26:49. > :27:02.lucky to be alive, and not only that, we were up on the balcony, we

:27:03. > :27:09.did not... It was terrifying. We had been down on the floor, I cannot

:27:10. > :27:13.imagine what it was like. We were together, on the balcony, we did not

:27:14. > :27:20.get separated and we got out before the gun men came up to the balcony.

:27:21. > :27:24.We were really lucky. We saw the worst of humanity and also the very

:27:25. > :27:30.best. People were doing selfless, courageous things, the guys who had

:27:31. > :27:36.broken the skylight open could have got out themselves but they waited.

:27:37. > :27:45.Tell our audience what you did, because you were on that balcony. We

:27:46. > :27:54.go to a lot of gigs, we met at a rock concert, we quite often go down

:27:55. > :28:01.the front, but we got there late, it was sold out, lots of people, we

:28:02. > :28:07.thought we would go to the balcony. These little decisions seem

:28:08. > :28:13.insignificant, they were the difference between life and death.

:28:14. > :28:19.What did you do when you heard the gunshots? I thought it was part of

:28:20. > :28:26.the show. Then it became clear it was part of the show. Then we fell

:28:27. > :28:31.to the floor. We had bind the seats. We lay there for what felt an

:28:32. > :28:40.eternity, probably about five minutes. The shots kept coming. The

:28:41. > :28:45.lights had gone on. You would hear silence while they were reloading. I

:28:46. > :28:54.remember saying, keep down. I said, we've got to get out, I knew that

:28:55. > :29:00.they were going out systematically shooting people. There was an

:29:01. > :29:07.excellent behind us but it led back down to the main hall. Did not want

:29:08. > :29:16.to go that way. I saw that there was annexed it, if we crawled toward the

:29:17. > :29:22.stage. We were crawling along on our bellies. There were gaps between the

:29:23. > :29:29.rows of seats so we were exposed as we went through them. We had no

:29:30. > :29:32.idea, we had seen the gun men in front of us, a report said they were

:29:33. > :29:39.up on the balcony as well and we did not realise that. Probably just as

:29:40. > :29:43.well. There was that fear, having to get from where we were heading to

:29:44. > :29:53.being exposed to where we were ahead and again. When you got through the

:29:54. > :30:01.door, what happened next? S it was a stairwell, there are quite a few of

:30:02. > :30:07.us, they were barricading it. They had pulled down a great, their words

:30:08. > :30:22.three blokes hoisting people up. It was quite high up. Tony had to jump.

:30:23. > :30:28.I am going to pause and be right back with you, we are going to

:30:29. > :30:40.Paris, where a government press conference is to be held. The

:30:41. > :30:51.project reinforces the efficacy of the police, and the serious reasons

:30:52. > :31:00.that exist about the behaviour that constitute a threat to the public

:31:01. > :31:06.order. House arrest conditions are defined by the Dutch police -- by

:31:07. > :31:12.the French police. Any person under house arrest cannot go to any place

:31:13. > :31:37.where it is thought they might be carrying out attacks against

:31:38. > :31:40.citizens. This should not be carried out without a Parliamentary warrant

:31:41. > :31:50.or the activities of the magistrates. The prosecutor of the

:31:51. > :31:58.Republic will be informed about all searches and warrants and raids. As

:31:59. > :32:08.well as the judiciary police. They will be informed about all of the

:32:09. > :32:12.elements that have been found, bodies, computers, and data taken

:32:13. > :32:18.from any house will be relayed to the appropriate authorities. Any

:32:19. > :32:26.person who facilitates or participates in any operation that

:32:27. > :32:29.threatens the public order, and we will target people who we will put

:32:30. > :32:49.under house arrest. The control of the press. As stipulated by the law

:32:50. > :32:53.of 1905. It has been cancelled. The research of people under house

:32:54. > :32:56.arrest will be enforced and this is what the Prime Minister presented to

:32:57. > :33:00.the Council of ministers. As I said, this law will be discussed by the

:33:01. > :33:07.commissions and by experts in charge of the debate and the debate will

:33:08. > :33:12.take place in the National Assembly tomorrow and the Senate on Friday.

:33:13. > :33:24.The Prime Minister, interior Minister, and the overseas

:33:25. > :33:35.ministers... Declared a state of emergency from the 19th of November

:33:36. > :33:43.20 15. In quad loop, Guy an, Martin eat, reunion, Mayotte and Saint

:33:44. > :33:55.Martin. -- Martin This is within the framework of the

:33:56. > :34:00.presentation of ministers, and some important degrees were discussed

:34:01. > :34:07.about the overseas Territories. Another point was raised about the

:34:08. > :34:10.international situation, especially about the solidarity shown by the

:34:11. > :34:25.G20 countries, clearly expressed during the G20 summit and also the

:34:26. > :34:27.fight against terrorism. That is a French government spokesman

:34:28. > :34:32.confirming that the raid in the north of Paris is over. And talking

:34:33. > :34:36.about various other things to do with the state of emergency in

:34:37. > :34:40.France. Let's continue the conversation with Tony Scott and

:34:41. > :34:45.Justine Merton, British survivors from the Bataclan attack on Friday

:34:46. > :34:54.night. You were just describing that effectively you escaped through a

:34:55. > :35:03.skylight. Yes, we got out onto the roof... People were being ushered

:35:04. > :35:09.towards an apartment, like a rooftop apartment, we weren't exactly sure

:35:10. > :35:14.where it was. We worked it out in retrospect, but we were ushered up

:35:15. > :35:20.there and it was somebody who live there, just getting people in

:35:21. > :35:28.through the window. He was welcoming you in? He did know -- he did not

:35:29. > :35:38.know what was happening, he could have just sat there and hidden but

:35:39. > :35:42.he was getting people in. Everybody was just in there. And I think the

:35:43. > :35:49.lights went off at one point and we were just in darkness but we could

:35:50. > :35:53.still hear gunfire. It was like bursts of gunfire. We still did not

:35:54. > :36:00.know whether we were safe. It was like coming up... We were sat in

:36:01. > :36:04.their and what is going through your head is, if that was our way out,

:36:05. > :36:09.what happens if the gunmen get cornered? Is that their way out too?

:36:10. > :36:16.Even though we were away from it all, we were still in the building.

:36:17. > :36:26.But still fearing that we could get found. How many people were in the

:36:27. > :36:33.apartment on the rooftop? 20 or 30 people. Mostly French people? We

:36:34. > :36:37.were the only British people. There was a nice guy, I can't remember his

:36:38. > :36:44.name, he was translating, because we did not know what was going on. We

:36:45. > :36:54.do not speak French. He was telling us what was happening. We had a

:36:55. > :36:59.period of it being quiet and you start to relax a little bit. And

:37:00. > :37:02.there was more gunfire. And then we heard explosions and there was three

:37:03. > :37:09.explosions. The whole building shook. Going through our head was

:37:10. > :37:13.whether the building was going to collapse as well. I want to

:37:14. > :37:20.introduce you to two whether people in the Bataclan. It is David and his

:37:21. > :37:28.Beyonce who are joining us from France. Thank you very much. -- his

:37:29. > :37:33.fiancee. I don't know if you heard much of what we were saying, but

:37:34. > :37:37.David, tell us your story. Just before the gunman opened fire you

:37:38. > :37:49.were uploading video showing the concert and the atmosphere. Yes,

:37:50. > :37:58.that's it. We were just making a short film to show people on social

:37:59. > :38:14.media how the concert was going and it was great. Yes, there was joy and

:38:15. > :38:24.people were singing. It was great. Tell us what happened next. The show

:38:25. > :38:30.was going on, I think maybe the singer introduced a new song and

:38:31. > :38:38.then we heard a little explosion like a firework. We did not

:38:39. > :38:42.realise... We saw some small whites as well but we did not realise what

:38:43. > :38:57.was going on really. -- small lights. It was maybe ten seconds,

:38:58. > :39:11.after the shot began. When we realised that it was not fireworks

:39:12. > :39:20.or lights, it was really people with guns that were shooting people. We

:39:21. > :39:35.heard screams and most people collapsed on the ground. Immediately

:39:36. > :39:44.we got on the ground. I told my fiance not to move. We knew that it

:39:45. > :39:47.was very bad, what was happening. And I think, David, you were

:39:48. > :40:03.actually shot in the back and the leg, is that correct? It was in my

:40:04. > :40:19.hip and in the elbow. Are you OK? I'm OK, yes, because I am very

:40:20. > :40:23.lucky. I can't find the words. I did not feel really bad when it

:40:24. > :40:27.happened, I just realised after we had run away. With the

:40:28. > :40:38.happened, I just realised after we all of the staff. Yes, I

:40:39. > :40:41.happened, I just realised after we but I did not feel anything,

:40:42. > :40:49.hopefully I did not have any bones broken, you now, nerve damage. --

:40:50. > :40:54.you know. The only thing I was thinking was about

:40:55. > :41:05.you know. The only thing I was survive. The first thought was, we

:41:06. > :41:21.are going to die anyway. The terrorists did not want to leave any

:41:22. > :41:29.survivors. It was awful. We were thinking that it had stopped. We

:41:30. > :41:32.thought there would be a negotiation with policeman but that was not

:41:33. > :41:42.their purpose. Their purpose was to kill people. As much as they can.

:41:43. > :41:45.What do you think of the police kill people. As much as they can.

:41:46. > :41:47.that has been going on in Saint-Denis this morning?

:41:48. > :41:54.that has been going on in repeat the question?

:41:55. > :41:57.that has been going on in operation going on in Saint-Denis

:41:58. > :42:07.this morning, what do you think of that? I am happy that they are doing

:42:08. > :42:15.something to try to get all of the people that were involved in all of

:42:16. > :42:30.this stuff, but I hope and I think it is one of the parts of the

:42:31. > :42:42.reseau. We know anyway that too many people have died and to many people

:42:43. > :42:50.have been hurt. It's enough. Yes. We know that there will be

:42:51. > :42:56.have been hurt. It's enough. Yes. We don't know the word. Another attack.

:42:57. > :43:00.Thank you for joining us. Justine and Tony, thank you very much for

:43:01. > :43:07.talking to us about what happened to you. Thank you. We want to bring you

:43:08. > :43:09.some of the images from the raids in Saint-Denis, the northern suburb of

:43:10. > :43:14.Paris Saint-Denis, the northern suburb of

:43:15. > :43:17.now say is over. These pictures show what are believed to be suspects

:43:18. > :43:24.being arrested and led away from the apartment in Saint-Denis. The video

:43:25. > :43:27.was captured by a TV crew and just underneath the roof of the white

:43:28. > :43:31.tent you might have been able to see the legs of a naked man, a naked man

:43:32. > :43:36.in Frank Kearse being led away by armed officers. This particular

:43:37. > :43:41.photo shows a man who appears to be naked from the waist down with a

:43:42. > :43:49.bloodied bandage on his hip. I don't know if you can just see that. He is

:43:50. > :43:52.either in handcuffs are his -- or his hands are being held by police

:43:53. > :43:54.officers. Thank you for joining us. Stay with

:43:55. > :44:05.officers. Thank you for joining us. day. We are back tomorrow at 9:15am.

:44:06. > :44:09.The first illustration shows Hitler and Himmler
