:00:22. > :00:26.Business Report. The headlines: It a major challenge to Apple's iPad.

:00:26. > :00:30.A small Chinese company says it owns the name and rights to the

:00:30. > :00:40.iPad name them. A Shanghai court will decide.

:00:40. > :00:46.

:00:46. > :00:50.How do you rebuild your business A Shanghai court has begun hearing

:00:50. > :00:57.a case brought by a Chinese technology firm seeking to halt the

:00:57. > :01:02.sale of Apple's iPads across Chinese cities. The company is

:01:02. > :01:05.accusing the US firm of trademark infringement. If the court ruled in

:01:05. > :01:11.favour of the company, it will eat into one of Apple's biggest markets

:01:11. > :01:19.in China. We cross to our reporter in Shanghai. Tell us more about

:01:19. > :01:25.this case. The company is they at once mighty technology company that

:01:25. > :01:30.has now fallen on harder times. In its heyday, it invented a rather

:01:30. > :01:34.clunky looking desktop computer that it caught the iPad. Only a few

:01:34. > :01:39.thousand were sold and it probably would have been consigned to the

:01:39. > :01:43.dustbin of computing history if it wasn't for that name. Apple says

:01:43. > :01:49.that it bought the global rights to the trade mark from the company

:01:49. > :01:54.back in 2009, but the company says that the deal did not include the

:01:54. > :01:59.rights to China. A court in Shanghai has already brought in

:01:59. > :02:03.favour of the company and while Apple appeals that ruling, the

:02:03. > :02:07.company is now asking courts in China to try and force companies to

:02:07. > :02:12.remove the iPad from sale. That is what is happening today in Shanghai,

:02:12. > :02:15.was serious consequences for Apple if that bid is successful. What are

:02:15. > :02:25.people saying about the likely outcome of this case going on in

:02:25. > :02:26.

:02:26. > :02:34.Some people take the future that it is a struggling company trying to

:02:34. > :02:40.make money out of Apple. But if they did invent the trade mark, de

:02:40. > :02:45.arguments are still to be heard by the court here in Shanghai. It's

:02:45. > :02:50.the Appeal Court. They may decide that Apple has not been as thorough

:02:50. > :02:57.as it fought in securing the global rights but what is clear is there

:02:57. > :03:02.are enormously serious consequences for Apple if it loses. The market

:03:02. > :03:09.here for Apple is very significant, growing, selling millions of unpaid

:03:09. > :03:17.here every year enjoying a 75% share of the touch screen tablet
