:00:20. > :00:25.cells into their brains. Now for World Business Report.

:00:25. > :00:30.No respite for Japanese investors. The Nikkei share index its stems

:00:30. > :00:40.last week's losses in another difficult trading session. --

:00:40. > :00:49.

:00:49. > :00:53.extends. Boeing's 787 Dreamliners jet returns.

:00:53. > :00:59.In a moment, we will receive a report on electronic cars in

:00:59. > :01:05.Estonia, but first, putting the spotlight on the Japanese Nikkei

:01:05. > :01:09.index. It slid more than 3% in the trading session. Investors are

:01:09. > :01:15.concerned that what looked like a bout of profit taking had turned

:01:15. > :01:25.into lasting doubt into the growth and the riskiness of the financial

:01:25. > :01:25.

:01:25. > :01:35.markets. Some technical problems, it seems... We can talk with

:01:35. > :01:45.

:01:45. > :01:54.somebody who has been following those numbers. It really is the

:01:54. > :02:04.Nikkei that is grabbing the headlines. Thank you for joining us.

:02:04. > :02:04.

:02:04. > :02:09.What is actually causing this volatility? Well, the Nikkei is

:02:09. > :02:15.down about 3% today. We have seen many exporters being sold off.

:02:15. > :02:19.Investors as well. People are fairly cautious after last week's

:02:19. > :02:29.turbulence. That saw the Nikkei dropped 7% - its single biggest one

:02:29. > :02:34.

:02:34. > :02:41.day fall since the tsunami and earthquake of 2011. We are seeing

:02:41. > :02:45.the likes of Toyota, Sony... Very large exporters falling 3%. Traders

:02:45. > :02:51.also say it is a combination of factors that have led to this,

:02:51. > :02:55.including concerns that the US Federal Res?I ? Federal Resdown

:02:55. > :02:59.stimulus and quantitative easing policies by the end of this year.

:02:59. > :03:04.There are also concerns about China and that disappointing factory data

:03:04. > :03:09.that came out of their last week. The Chinese mainland is Japan's

:03:09. > :03:15.second largest export market. Today's fall is not being helped by

:03:15. > :03:20.events on the US market last week. We shall have tried to set all of

:03:20. > :03:24.this into context because these falls are actually fairly small in

:03:24. > :03:30.terms of the big picture. The Nikkei has actually gained well

:03:30. > :03:34.over 30% this year alone. In April, we saw the Bank of Japan announced

:03:34. > :03:39.sweeping monetary expansion policies to try to fight off years

:03:39. > :03:44.of deflation and revive growth. That aggressive stance has meant

:03:44. > :03:48.investors have been taking a far more positive approach to the

:03:48. > :03:58.markets. But this could be seen as just something of a correction.

:03:58. > :04:00.Thank you. A Japanese carrier has resumed commercial flights using

:04:01. > :04:05.Boeing's Dreamliner aircraft are just four months after the planes

:04:05. > :04:13.were grounded because of battery problems. The All Nippon Airways

:04:13. > :04:19.plane flew from such corrupt to Tokyo -- out Thoreau to Tokyo --

:04:19. > :04:29.Hokkaido to Tokyo. Flights were grounded after two separate cases

:04:29. > :04:32.

:04:32. > :04:35.of overheating batteries on the aircraft.

:04:35. > :04:44.Pilates with the Japanese airline, All Nippon Airways, performed their

:04:44. > :04:51.final checks in their Dreamliner cockpit before taking off and

:04:51. > :04:59.stopped -- pilots. One hour or so later, the flight from Tokyo landed

:04:59. > :05:03.in Hokkaido with few passengers on board expressing any concern.

:05:03. > :05:09.TRANSLATION: I was not nervous at all as I have heard they are

:05:09. > :05:15.checking the safety. I trust them. I was determined to take this

:05:15. > :05:20.flight no matter what because I was waiting for the State to come.

:05:20. > :05:26.is the cause of the original problem. This battery burst into

:05:26. > :05:31.flames on separate Dreamliners. The problem was of such concerns that

:05:31. > :05:37.some passengers had to make an emergency evacuation that led to

:05:37. > :05:40.the entire fleet of aircraft being grounded around the world. Once the

:05:41. > :05:46.US safety inspectors clear to the aircraft for use last month,

:05:46. > :05:54.airlines have restarted using it. All live on air ways, Boeing's

:05:54. > :05:56.largest customer, waited until this weekend to resume services.

:05:56. > :06:02.Executives still acknowledge that not all customers will be

:06:02. > :06:06.immediately reassured that the aircraft is fully say. TRANSLATION:

:06:06. > :06:11.No matter how many times we tell them not to worry, it will not be

:06:11. > :06:15.believed by the passengers. The only way is to keep each and every

:06:15. > :06:25.flight path a police safe until our passengers finally say that it is

:06:25. > :06:25.

:06:25. > :06:29.safe. -- keep every flight perfectly safe. Boeing's share

:06:29. > :06:38.price continued to climb on the back of strong orders worldwide

:06:38. > :06:42.despite the safety scare. Estonia has a population of just 1.3

:06:42. > :06:52.million people but has yet to the forefront of countries promoting

:06:52. > :06:55.

:06:55. > :06:58.renewable energy -- leapt. The Baltic nation's government is

:06:58. > :07:00.subsidising the purchase of electric cars by the population and

:07:00. > :07:10.has installed the world's first nationwide network of electric

:07:10. > :07:12.

:07:12. > :07:18.charging stations. This taxi driver does not necessarily look like a

:07:18. > :07:21.clean energy pioneer but he is part of a nationwide push 40 carbon

:07:21. > :07:27.emissions. The Estonian government has sold its surplus carbon dioxide

:07:27. > :07:30.emission credits to a Japanese company and with the $39 million it

:07:31. > :07:38.got is a result, it set up a programme to encourage the sale of

:07:38. > :07:42.electric vehicles. He says that the electric taxi cabs are a hit. They

:07:42. > :07:48.are cheaper than regular taxis and passengers prefer the quiet,

:07:48. > :07:54.environmentally friendly journey. But there are still drawbacks.

:07:54. > :08:00.Fully charged, they can drive for only 100 kilometres, which is

:08:00. > :08:07.restrictive if you want to venture problem here is that you cannot

:08:07. > :08:15.drive to tally in -- cannot drive to the capital city in just one

:08:15. > :08:21.charging. That is the main problem, I think. In the capital, I took one

:08:21. > :08:26.such car for a spin around the winding streets of the old city. A

:08:26. > :08:32.system of electric, fast charging stations - also paid for by the

:08:33. > :08:37.Mitsubishi carbon credit sale - is central to the government's bright

:08:37. > :08:43.electronic car future. 165 charges spots have been spread across the

:08:43. > :08:48.country. One charge takes around 30 minutes and can cost up to $8. That

:08:48. > :08:54.is cheap. Everything is being fuelled by renewable sources. 90%

:08:54. > :09:02.of which is wind power. Officials say that the hybrid cars and clean

:09:02. > :09:08.energy are an area where Estonia can plant its flag. Small

:09:08. > :09:17.initiatives where we can do a good job. And everything that is

:09:17. > :09:23.relating to the green... Certainly it will be going as an opportunity.

:09:23. > :09:28.There are over 600 electronica -- electric vehicles in Estonia. That
