:00:00. > :00:24.are still widely used in some fields. Now, all the latest

:00:25. > :00:30.financial news. Bent out of shape. Apple receives a storm of complaints

:00:31. > :00:39.about its fragile flagship phone. And we go inside the world's first

:00:40. > :00:49.environmentally friendly mosque. Welcome to World Business Report. In

:00:50. > :00:56.a moment, Spain begins its trade visit to China, but first, the

:00:57. > :01:00.launch of the iPhone 6 is threatening to turn into a public

:01:01. > :01:06.relations disaster. Apple was busy hailing its best ever weekend of

:01:07. > :01:12.sales when a spate of complaint arose on social media that the new

:01:13. > :01:18.flagship iPhone 6 can easily be bent if it is put into a trouser pocket.

:01:19. > :01:24.This video has been watched more than 10 million times on YouTube. It

:01:25. > :01:31.shows how apparently fragile that devices. It is going to cost me more

:01:32. > :01:37.money if it does break. I would rather go for a safer option. The

:01:38. > :01:43.back pocket is usually where it goes. You cannot really sing down

:01:44. > :01:51.with it in the front pocket. `` sits down. Is it bends, that is not a

:01:52. > :01:59.good idea. Apple has also had to withdraw a software update to its

:02:00. > :02:11.iOS8, after it prevented some phones from being able to make calls. What

:02:12. > :02:17.does it all mean? How worried should Apple be by this? Will it put people

:02:18. > :02:22.off buying the iPhone 6? You have to remember that if you look at the

:02:23. > :02:26.historical context of every single major Apple product launch, there is

:02:27. > :02:31.usually a storm of complaints from people when they realise it is not

:02:32. > :02:37.perfect. This is not to say that Apple is not misfiring. It is. This

:02:38. > :02:43.software update especially is not typical of Apple. We should also

:02:44. > :02:48.note that Microsoft Windows issued a patch five weeks ago and withdrew it

:02:49. > :02:54.because it was causing some problems on Windows PCs. There is a common

:02:55. > :03:03.case of software not getting as many headlines with Microsoft as it does

:03:04. > :03:07.with Apple. Is it simply that Apple is under more scrutiny because we

:03:08. > :03:11.all talk about it? Some would say that they also have a big fanfare

:03:12. > :03:17.for big launches like this, so if criticism is due in certain cases

:03:18. > :03:27.like this, they have to take it. A few years ago, with one model of the

:03:28. > :03:31.iPhone, when that came out, there were complaints about a lack of

:03:32. > :03:34.wireless coverage. It turned out that the bars that indicated the

:03:35. > :03:47.strength of the wireless signal were not being displayed properly. Apple

:03:48. > :03:50.invited the media into their testing facilities to show how much work had

:03:51. > :03:54.gone into it and eventually the controversy died down. What normally

:03:55. > :03:58.happens is that Apple jumps right on top of the case, studies the problem

:03:59. > :04:10.and then offers a six or some guidance about what to do. `` offers

:04:11. > :04:18.a solution. As for the software update, we have a guide now website

:04:19. > :04:23.right now. Now to the economic impact of climate change. The Gulf

:04:24. > :04:28.countries are among the worst polluters in the world, but now,

:04:29. > :04:32.Dubai is trying to raise awareness of the problem by combining green

:04:33. > :04:40.technology with religion in the region's first environmentally

:04:41. > :04:49.friendly mosque. Reclaimed land, the tallest building on earth and the

:04:50. > :04:53.busiest airport in the world. Dubai is rarely noted for its ecological

:04:54. > :05:03.credentials but could that be about to change with this? The new mosque

:05:04. > :05:10.was funded by a private donation. It can house up to 3500 worshippers. It

:05:11. > :05:19.is the first ever built to meet the US Green building Council's

:05:20. > :05:30.guidelines. This carpet is a low emitting type. The resident engineer

:05:31. > :05:36.took us on a tour. Treated water is used for the irrigation system, for

:05:37. > :05:41.the landscaping. The consultants behind this mosque say they have cut

:05:42. > :05:48.down on the water needed by 50% and energy by 25% after the city's

:05:49. > :05:53.endowment committee insisted on a green element to settle climate

:05:54. > :05:57.fears. What we have been doing for the past 100 years, eventually, we

:05:58. > :06:02.have robbed our climate. It was not like this 100 years ago. It all

:06:03. > :06:07.comes back to us and what we have done to get where we are and from

:06:08. > :06:14.this point onward, what we can do to stop it, reduce it or minimise it.

:06:15. > :06:18.The choice of a Moscow to prevent environmental consciousness is

:06:19. > :06:23.particularly potent in this part of the world. `` the choice of a

:06:24. > :06:27.mosque. Religion is embedded in the lives of people. This is being

:06:28. > :06:31.watched keenly in Saudi Arabia, which has already sent a team of

:06:32. > :06:35.engineers here to see how it is done. Is this a more environmentally

:06:36. > :06:41.friendly Dubai responding to climate change? This is the first time in

:06:42. > :06:44.the history of the Middle East that the word of sustainability is spread

:06:45. > :06:50.through a place of worship and it is likely that it will reach the

:06:51. > :06:54.grassroots. Dubai's population is expected to rise 5% this year,

:06:55. > :07:01.meaning more carbon dioxide emitting buildings. The message will have to

:07:02. > :07:07.spread fast. Late on Wednesday, the Spanish prime

:07:08. > :07:13.minister arrived in China for a three`day visit. Trade and tourism

:07:14. > :07:19.will be high on the agenda. China is Spain's largest trading partner

:07:20. > :07:25.outside of the EU. More than 250,000 Chinese people made the journey to

:07:26. > :07:31.Spain in 2013. Mariano Rajoy has been touting Spain as a land of

:07:32. > :07:35.opportunity for Chinese businesses with his economic reforms. Thank you

:07:36. > :07:38.for joining us. There is a tendency for us to look at China as a place

:07:39. > :07:45.of plenty of opportunity, plenty of money, but in this case, what does

:07:46. > :07:51.Spain wants? Spain is going there for the usual reasons. A few years

:07:52. > :07:55.ago, that would be to ask the Chinese to buy Spanish government

:07:56. > :08:00.bonds. Now, that crisis is over and they are looking at direct

:08:01. > :08:03.investment into Spain by China, which has been a large scale by

:08:04. > :08:08.other assets already in Portugal. They are also looking for

:08:09. > :08:13.opportunities there might be for Spain to do export business in

:08:14. > :08:18.China. If you look at Europe, there is a very different kind of

:08:19. > :08:24.economy. There is a tendency to look at Europe as one trading block. That

:08:25. > :08:28.is critical. And if I was the Chinese looking where I wanted to

:08:29. > :08:32.invest in Europe, Spain looks much more attractive as a proposition.

:08:33. > :08:38.Looking at Eastern Europe, Germany and Austria in particular, those are

:08:39. > :08:42.really beginning to suffer the effects of the Russian sanctions

:08:43. > :08:46.slowdown. Austrian banks are in trouble because of their exposure.

:08:47. > :08:55.German exports and business confidence have started to slide.

:08:56. > :08:59.France is much to connected to the German economy and in Italy, we have

:09:00. > :09:09.seen very little reform. In Spain, we have seen very `` a great deal of

:09:10. > :09:13.reform. Wages have gone down, unemployment is high, meaning there

:09:14. > :09:21.are lots of workers to be recruited into new businesses. Should Spain be

:09:22. > :09:25.worried about a slowdown in China? The state of the Chinese economy is

:09:26. > :09:28.often quoted as the major reason for a slide in global commodities but

:09:29. > :09:31.what is happening is a transformation between an export led

:09:32. > :09:38.economy into a consumption led economy. That is changing the demand

:09:39. > :09:45.that China has. China is the much more selective in what it invests in

:09:46. > :09:51.now. Thank you. Time to have a look at the market figures. Asian stocks

:09:52. > :09:56.fell slightly on Thursday, despite an initial rebound on Wall Street.

:09:57. > :10:00.That Wall Street optimism was fuelled by better than expected US

:10:01. > :10:15.housing data. That's all of the business. See you soon for the

:10:16. > :10:17.newspaper review. It has been a month since the

:10:18. > :10:22.missing schoolgirl Alex Cross was last seen. Today, the police will

:10:23. > :10:31.carry out a reconstruction of her movements before her disappearance

:10:32. > :10:32.as part of a renewed appeal. Her family says
