:00:00. > :00:00.Plenty more on this throughout the day.

:00:00. > :00:07.Now for the latest financial news with Sally

:00:08. > :00:19.The mega merger in the brewing industry is near completion

:00:20. > :00:21.but what does the tie-up of Anheuser-Busch InBev

:00:22. > :00:27.and SABMiller mean for jobs and consumers?

:00:28. > :00:30.Could this be the end of the Samsung Note 7 Smartphone,

:00:31. > :00:33.after 3 replacement phones catch fire?

:00:34. > :00:45.There are reports Samsung is halting production.

:00:46. > :00:59.We will also have a look at the fancy new ways cars are being

:01:00. > :01:00.designed. It's more than likely that

:01:01. > :01:03.by the end of the day the worlds' two largest

:01:04. > :01:05.brewers will be saying "cheers" to a mega-merger that leads

:01:06. > :01:08.to one company controlling nearly a third of the

:01:09. > :01:11.worlds' beer market. So what does the tie up

:01:12. > :01:13.of Anheuser-Busch InBev and SABMiller mean for

:01:14. > :01:17.the industry and beer drinkers? Well it's a deal worth $104 billion

:01:18. > :01:20.and, as I mentioned, combines the world's

:01:21. > :01:24.two biggest brewers. The newly-created firm will produce

:01:25. > :01:28.about a third of the world's beer. Belgium-based AB InBev's brands

:01:29. > :01:31.include Stella Artois, Corona and Budweiser,

:01:32. > :01:34.while UK-based SABMiller produces But not only will the name SAB

:01:35. > :01:42.Miller go in the take over - Over the next few years AB InBev

:01:43. > :01:47.is expected to gradually cut about 3% - that's around 5,500 jobs

:01:48. > :01:54.from its enlarged workforce. The job cuts will form part

:01:55. > :01:57.of an annual savings drive amounting And despite the newly formed company

:01:58. > :02:04.having a 30% market share, the competition in the beer

:02:05. > :02:07.market is fierce. All mass-market brewers are looking

:02:08. > :02:11.to cut production and distribution costs in the face of rivalry

:02:12. > :02:13.from smaller independent brands With me is Simon Griffiths

:02:14. > :02:34.a Partner at Irwin Mitchell. Good morning. Thank you for coming

:02:35. > :02:39.in. The ink is drying on the deal but talk us through what these two

:02:40. > :02:44.big brewing companies had to do to allow regulators and competition

:02:45. > :02:50.authorities to give the go-ahead? They were not going to sleep

:02:51. > :02:57.monopolise the market, they had to sell businesses in central Europe

:02:58. > :03:03.and China. The process started in 11 months ago and finally got the

:03:04. > :03:09.clearance in September. The ink dried at the end of last week.

:03:10. > :03:19.SABMiller Has now been taken over. It is a huge deal. Talk us through

:03:20. > :03:25.what the company will do first? The newlyformed company will be creating

:03:26. > :03:32.efficiency of scale, laying off a few people, I think 3% of the

:03:33. > :03:38.workforce being laid off, in the context of the deal, which is one

:03:39. > :03:45.third of the beer market, over 100,000 employee is, I think people

:03:46. > :03:51.can respect that. It is not too great a loss. For the other

:03:52. > :03:56.competitors, the small Independent brewers everyone is concerned about,

:03:57. > :04:04.the likes of Heineken, what about them? It will keep them on their

:04:05. > :04:11.toes. They are not the leaders. This is the leader. It is for hard work

:04:12. > :04:19.for them. And more consolidation between other companies? Perhaps. I

:04:20. > :04:30.think the deal is a great success for the South Africans who brought

:04:31. > :04:39.SABMiller in 2000. It has been sold for 70 a billion, 17 times multiple,

:04:40. > :04:46.it is a great success story. And for beer drinkers? I am a beer drinker

:04:47. > :04:48.and I will have to consume its products. Thank you very much

:04:49. > :04:52.indeed. More news on that later. Samsung has suspended production

:04:53. > :04:55.of its Galaxy Note 7smartphones following reports of fires in at

:04:56. > :04:59.least three replacement devices. This is according to reports

:05:00. > :05:03.in South Korean media and marks a further setback for thetech giant

:05:04. > :05:06.trying to manage its worst ever Rico Hizon is in our

:05:07. > :05:26.Asia Business Hub in Singapore. The problems are piling up for

:05:27. > :05:31.Samsung Electronics. The media is saying the decision to suspend was

:05:32. > :05:38.made as some US carriers stopped sales of the devise due to more

:05:39. > :05:45.concerns about the batteries. It is impacting shares, it is down by

:05:46. > :05:50.around 5% in sole trading. Suspending production is at the

:05:51. > :05:55.latest blow. The device has a ready scene airlines worldwide ban

:05:56. > :06:05.passengers from using them and our York AT and others stopping sales

:06:06. > :06:12.over safety concerns. Analysts are now estimating this debacle could

:06:13. > :06:19.costs Samsung electronic billions of dollars and this is in addition to

:06:20. > :06:25.mounting pressure to break up the empire into two. That it separates

:06:26. > :06:29.into an operating company and a holding company and by doing this it

:06:30. > :06:34.would be more due diligence, transparency and dividends that

:06:35. > :06:38.could benefit shareholders and stockholders of the company. Thank

:06:39. > :06:40.you very much indeed. In the past, cars were built almost

:06:41. > :06:44.by a process of trial and error. You built a prototype,

:06:45. > :06:47.then tested it to find out Nowadays, much of that work

:06:48. > :06:51.is done by computers. Our reporter Theo Leggett has been

:06:52. > :06:55.to the Paris Motor show to see how 3D simulations are being used

:06:56. > :06:58.by designers to refine their work in the virtual world before a single

:06:59. > :07:12.panel has been built When they are trying to win

:07:13. > :07:18.championship or making sure it is fuel-efficient, aerodynamics really

:07:19. > :07:22.matter. We have come down to a small company who specialise in hopping

:07:23. > :07:29.big car companies perfect that scientific art. Stephen is the

:07:30. > :07:36.president and chief executor and Paul will operate the technical

:07:37. > :07:40.side. We can put on our 3-D glasses and look at the visualisation and

:07:41. > :07:47.that will explain exactly what we are doing. We have a car. We are

:07:48. > :07:52.looking at the aerodynamics of this vehicle and in particular how to

:07:53. > :07:56.make it more efficient so it has lower CO2 emissions and meets

:07:57. > :08:02.stringent government regulations. We are looking at one particular design

:08:03. > :08:07.attribute, the air curtain on the front bumper. We are trying to

:08:08. > :08:13.manage the air efficiently to go around the car, particularly around

:08:14. > :08:21.the front tyre. You want the air to be very close to the body. Why does

:08:22. > :08:27.this matter? Fuel economy, CO2 emissions, new regulations are

:08:28. > :08:32.getting harder and harder. This is how we have to go about it. Let's

:08:33. > :08:38.take these ridiculous 3-D glasses off and look at one of the cars you

:08:39. > :08:46.have been working on. Here we have the actual car that we saw in the

:08:47. > :08:54.computer simulation. You see the air curtain. That is exactly what you

:08:55. > :08:58.saw in the computer model. Its goal is to capture some of the air going

:08:59. > :09:06.around the car and efficiently scoop it in and manage it around the front

:09:07. > :09:11.tyre. It is one thing to have the computer display but here we have a

:09:12. > :09:15.solid car, you can test it. Does it work? Tested and certified. Promises

:09:16. > :09:17.promises. In other news, the entertainment

:09:18. > :09:20.company co-owned by Hollywood director, Steven Spielberg,

:09:21. > :09:22.has signed a partnership deal with a major Chinese

:09:23. > :09:23.production company. Amblin Partners will join

:09:24. > :09:26.with the Alibaba Group to produce films for western

:09:27. > :09:28.and Chinese markets. Alibaba Pictures, which is led

:09:29. > :09:30.by the e-commerce billionaire, Jack Ma, will acquire a minority

:09:31. > :09:48.stake in Amblin as part Looking at the markets: the Mexican

:09:49. > :09:54.peso up 1.5% following the televised debate between Donald Trump and

:09:55. > :10:02.Hillary Clinton. Just to show you, most major markets are closed for a

:10:03. > :10:16.public holiday. This is Australia at the top. I will see you soon.

:10:17. > :10:24.The government has ruled out forcing British company to reveal how many

:10:25. > :10:26.foreign workers they employ. The data will not be made
