:11:32. > :11:39.target for increasing the number of visits to Wales? The tourism
:11:39. > :11:42.strategy will be published on 17th of June. According to official visit
:11:42. > :11:48.figures, in the last six years, visitor numbers were falling in
:11:48. > :11:55.Wales by almost a quarter, whereas across the cake, they went down by
:11:55. > :11:59.just 3%. -- across the UK. Your government spent an extra 850,000
:11:59. > :12:03.on tourism promotion, what exactly did Welsh taxpayers get for that
:12:03. > :12:09.investment? Selling Wales around the world. The weather has not been kind
:12:09. > :12:13.to us. That has not helped. We have committed many millions of pounds to
:12:13. > :12:20.market Wales around the world. One of the things we are doing now, of
:12:20. > :12:24.course, is developing the tourism market as new routes are served from
:12:24. > :12:29.Cardiff airport, to make sure the flow of passengers is not all one
:12:29. > :12:33.way. It is right to say, for example, we need to make sure we
:12:33. > :12:39.have indoor attractions, we have Cardiff city in the Premier League
:12:39. > :12:43.next year, and that is a lot of money. More than anything else on
:12:43. > :12:48.top of the marketing support, we need to make sure we have better
:12:48. > :12:53.weather than we have had over the last few years. That in itself is
:12:53. > :12:56.not a reason to be complacent. We understand that. It doesn't make it

:13:11. > :13:13.
:13:13. > :13:22.acknowledge that you can't control the weather, despite... Despite your
:13:22. > :13:30.well-known resemblance to a certain weatherman. The reality is, First
:13:30. > :13:34.Minister, your government has spent an additional 850,000 in tourism
:13:34. > :13:38.marketing last year, and I asked what Wales and Welsh taxpayers have
:13:38. > :13:41.got for it. You say you are increasing the number of
:13:41. > :13:48.international visitors but the reality is that in six years, total
:13:48. > :13:52.overseas visits to Wales are down by 22%. European visitors are down by
:13:52. > :13:59.27%, and there's been a massive drop of 40% from the North American
:13:59. > :14:03.market. Visit Britain has clearly stated that it aims to bring an
:14:03. > :14:07.extra 9 million tourists a year to Britain by 2020. I am asking you
:14:07. > :14:13.when you finally mean get round to publishing your tourism strategy,
:14:13. > :14:21.how many visitors will be expected in Wales as a result of your
:14:21. > :14:28.government's action? Without wishing to prejudge the strategy, we do put
:14:28. > :14:35.substantial amount of money into tourism, 4.1 million pounds for
:14:35. > :14:39.marketing, and more money for other things. The question for us is how
:14:39. > :14:47.can we increase the numbers of visitors, which is widely tourism
:14:47. > :14:52.strategy is being published on 17th of June. First Minister, can you
:14:52. > :14:59.tell me what you know about the Welsh government's business partner
:14:59. > :15:05.called part cabbie? I am aware of what it is, and I am aware of what

:15:21. > :15:25.spent on infrastructure, 5 million putting in electricity substation.
:15:25. > :15:29.Doesn't this show a lack of ability to actually correlate the spending
:15:29. > :15:32.of money on enterprise and business projects with the pity of creating
:15:32. > :15:38.jobs, especially when you look back on the record of previous Labour

:16:20. > :16:25.not over hours. I have heard some answers in my time but
:16:25. > :16:30.archaeological problems... I stood on the business Park last Friday,
:16:30. > :16:34.there are huge roadways that many communities would love to have.
:16:34. > :16:39.There is a beautiful cycle track their that many communities would

:16:43. > :16:49.your Government, a policy that we support, the creation of enterprise

:16:52. > :16:56.those business zones but what we cannot tell is how many jobs have

:17:00. > :17:07.how many new business start-ups have actually been started on those

:40:40. > :40:44.dispute with Westminster. That's via the life page. -- that is via the
:40:44. > :40:50.live page. It is that time of the week when we get the reflections of
:40:50. > :40:53.the Welsh affairs editor who's been watching proceedings. All the
:40:53. > :40:58.leaders going on something different this week. It was interesting,
:40:58. > :41:02.wasn't it? We thought maybe health would dominate again because we had
:41:02. > :41:06.the announcements that reconfiguration plans for the south
:41:06. > :41:11.eastern corner or quarter of Wales are coming tomorrow. It seems most

:41:28. > :41:33.emergency plans. Kirsty Williams went on different fields entirely.
:41:33. > :41:39.Tourism as well. Tourism was a bit of a theme in First Minister's
:41:39. > :41:48.Questions today. And we also heard from Simon Thomas this dispute
:41:48. > :41:54.between Michael Gove about the future of exams. A fight partly
:41:54. > :41:59.being fought out over Twitter, surprisingly enough. Once -- Michael
:41:59. > :42:04.Gove wrote to the Welsh government to say we are not going to agree
:42:04. > :42:10.what these qualifications should be so let's have different systems in
:42:10. > :42:17.the different parts of the UK. Scotland is different already. The

:42:25. > :42:34.Andrews insisted that the names, GCSE and A-level, are owned by all
:42:34. > :42:37.the UK. An unexpected knockabout over Royal Mail as well. Yes. That
:42:37. > :42:42.was interesting. Labour are trying to capitalise on worries about what
:42:42. > :42:45.might happen with Royal Mail being privatised, particularly about the
:42:45. > :42:53.service obligation which means even the most remote farm in Wales
:42:53. > :42:56.receives its post for the same cost. Plaid Cymru immediately said who
:42:56. > :43:04.started this process? It was the last Labour government in
:43:05. > :43:08.Westminster. There was a bit of blame going on and the First
:43:08. > :43:12.Minister said, what would you do to stop it? You can't form UK
:43:12. > :43:16.government, you don't stand in most of the seats in the House of Commons
:43:16. > :43:23.and it is the House of Commons that will decide this. The other thing is
:43:23. > :43:29.thirsty Williams doesn't blame the weather on Carwyn Jones! She was
:43:29. > :43:39.saying we need to ensure better weather and Kirsty Williams saying
:43:39. > :43:40.
:43:40. > :43:43.that we cannot do that. David Jones, the Welsh Secretary, he was
:43:43. > :43:48.mentioned there, about sprinklers. He is coming to the SMB tomorrow to

:43:53. > :43:57.It is fair to say that David Jones is regarded as something of a

:44:09. > :44:13.Secretary. OK, thank you for that. That's it for today. There is no
