0:00:04 > 0:00:07At the Scottish Parliament elections on May 5th,
0:00:07 > 0:00:09we face a big choice.
0:00:09 > 0:00:12Do we go back to the divisions of the last few years,
0:00:12 > 0:00:16to the possibility of another referendum on independence,
0:00:16 > 0:00:20or do we get the country focused back onto what really matters?
0:00:20 > 0:00:23Many people who voted to stay part of the UK
0:00:23 > 0:00:26now just want the country to move on.
0:00:26 > 0:00:29What I want is for all of us to feel like one again
0:00:29 > 0:00:33and work towards the greater goal which isn't just about me,
0:00:33 > 0:00:36it's about every single person that chooses to live here.
0:00:36 > 0:00:39The trouble is, if they win in May,
0:00:39 > 0:00:43the SNP has said it will kick-start a new drive for independence
0:00:43 > 0:00:47and Labour and the Lib Dems say they'll let their candidates
0:00:47 > 0:00:49and supporters back independence,
0:00:49 > 0:00:53so how can they keep the SNP focused on running the country?
0:00:55 > 0:00:58Hello, my name's Ruth, I'm leader of the Scottish Conservatives.
0:00:58 > 0:00:59- Hi.- Good to meet you.
0:00:59 > 0:01:02Many people are now looking to Ruth Davidson to provide
0:01:02 > 0:01:04the strong opposition our country needs
0:01:04 > 0:01:07and, perhaps for the first time,
0:01:07 > 0:01:09they're looking to the Scottish Conservatives,
0:01:09 > 0:01:14the one party that can be trusted to stand up for the UK.
0:01:14 > 0:01:16I know the likes of Ruth Davidson,
0:01:16 > 0:01:19she's making a big stand for it and I know you can trust her word.
0:01:19 > 0:01:23She will stand up for Scotland to remain part of the United Kingdom
0:01:23 > 0:01:24and that's why from now on,
0:01:24 > 0:01:26I'll definitely be voting Scottish Conservative.
0:01:26 > 0:01:31Ruth's commitment at this election is to be a strong opposition
0:01:31 > 0:01:34which holds the SNP to account.
0:01:34 > 0:01:37It's to ensure we get better government,
0:01:37 > 0:01:41not a return to division with a second referendum.
0:01:41 > 0:01:44Labour hasn't laid a glove on the SNP in nine years.
0:01:44 > 0:01:47I just can't see Labour taking them on, but I can see me doing it.
0:01:48 > 0:01:52And with that, we'll all benefit, by getting our government
0:01:52 > 0:01:58focused on your school, your hospital and growing jobs.
0:01:58 > 0:02:01I won't let the SNP focus on a second referendum
0:02:01 > 0:02:04when they should be focusing on being a better government.
0:02:04 > 0:02:06The bottom line is, I'm up for the job.
0:02:07 > 0:02:10Holding the SNP to account,
0:02:10 > 0:02:13focusing the government on what matters,
0:02:13 > 0:02:15no to a second referendum.
0:02:15 > 0:02:19The Scottish Conservatives will stick by that -
0:02:19 > 0:02:22that's the choice we offer.
0:02:22 > 0:02:25You vote for me and that's a promise -
0:02:25 > 0:02:29a strong opposition, a stronger Scotland.
