0:00:03 > 0:00:08At the Scottish Parliament elections on May 5th, we face a big choice.
0:00:08 > 0:00:11Do we go back to the divisions of the last few years,
0:00:11 > 0:00:15to the possibility of another referendum on independence?
0:00:16 > 0:00:20Or do we get the country focused back onto what really matters?
0:00:20 > 0:00:23Many people who voted to stay part of the UK
0:00:23 > 0:00:26now just want the country to move on.
0:00:26 > 0:00:29What I want is for all of us to feel like one again,
0:00:29 > 0:00:32and work towards a greater goal, which isn't just about me,
0:00:32 > 0:00:36it's about every single person that chooses to live here.
0:00:36 > 0:00:39The trouble is, if they win in May,
0:00:39 > 0:00:43the SNP has said it will kick-start a new drive for independence.
0:00:43 > 0:00:45And Labour and the Lib Dems say
0:00:45 > 0:00:49they'll let their candidates and supporters back independence.
0:00:49 > 0:00:53So how can they keep the SNP focused on running the country?
0:00:55 > 0:00:58Hello, my name's Ruth. I'm leader of the Scottish Conservatives.
0:00:58 > 0:00:59- Hi.- Good to meet you.
0:00:59 > 0:01:01Many people are now looking to Ruth Davidson
0:01:01 > 0:01:04to provide the strong opposition our country needs.
0:01:04 > 0:01:07And, perhaps for the first time,
0:01:07 > 0:01:10they're looking to the Scottish Conservatives,
0:01:10 > 0:01:13the one party which can be trusted to stand up for the UK.
0:01:13 > 0:01:16I know the likes of Ruth Davidson - she's making a big stand for it.
0:01:16 > 0:01:18And I know you can trust her word.
0:01:18 > 0:01:22She will stand up for Scotland to remain part of the United Kingdom,
0:01:22 > 0:01:24and that's why, from now on,
0:01:24 > 0:01:26I will definitely be voting Scottish Conservative.
0:01:26 > 0:01:29Ruth's commitment at this election
0:01:29 > 0:01:33is to be a strong opposition which holds the SNP to account.
0:01:33 > 0:01:37It's to ensure we get better government,
0:01:37 > 0:01:40not a return to division with a second referendum.
0:01:40 > 0:01:43Labour hasn't laid a glove on the SNP in nine years.
0:01:43 > 0:01:46I just can't see Labour taking them on.
0:01:46 > 0:01:48But I can see me doing it.
0:01:48 > 0:01:51And, with that, we'll all benefit,
0:01:51 > 0:01:54by getting out government focused on your school,
0:01:54 > 0:01:55your hospital,
0:01:55 > 0:01:57and growing jobs.
0:01:57 > 0:02:00I won't let the SNP focus on a second referendum,
0:02:00 > 0:02:03when they should be focusing on being a better government.
0:02:03 > 0:02:06The bottom line is, I'm up for the job.
0:02:07 > 0:02:09Holding the SNP to account,
0:02:09 > 0:02:12focusing the government on what matters,
0:02:12 > 0:02:15no to a second referendum -
0:02:15 > 0:02:18the Scottish Conservatives will stick by that.
0:02:18 > 0:02:20That's the choice we offer.
0:02:21 > 0:02:24You vote for me, and that's a promise.
0:02:24 > 0:02:28A strong opposition, a stronger Scotland.
0:02:28 > 0:02:30Together, we can do this.
0:02:30 > 0:02:33Together, we can build a better Scotland.
