0:01:21 > 0:01:24can be found with devoted and hard-working people

0:01:24 > 0:01:27who understand the challenges far more intimately than we do.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35That means that the most powerful government would be the one

0:01:35 > 0:01:38that listens more than it speaks.

0:01:38 > 0:01:41To listen carefully to the people who are already

0:01:41 > 0:01:44devoting their lives trying to solve those problems,

0:01:44 > 0:01:47from doctors and teachers to parents and charity workers.

0:01:52 > 0:01:54You see, too many politicians forget

0:01:54 > 0:01:56that the role of the Welsh Assembly

0:01:56 > 0:01:58is not to command and control,

0:01:58 > 0:02:00or to rule and to reign,

0:02:00 > 0:02:03but to help and to serve the people of Wales.

0:02:07 > 0:02:09The role of the Welsh Assembly

0:02:09 > 0:02:12should not be to try to solve all your problems,

0:02:12 > 0:02:16but to help and to support you as you grapple heroically to solve

0:02:16 > 0:02:22your own problems, because your life belongs to you, not the government.

0:02:22 > 0:02:26Your life really can be anything you want it to be.

0:02:30 > 0:02:32So if you're the kind of person

0:02:32 > 0:02:35that tries to be a contributor to society,

0:02:35 > 0:02:36we'd love to work with you.
