0:00:09 > 0:00:12We're now halfway through the Coalition's time in government

0:00:12 > 0:00:16and in two and a half years we've achieved a lot.

0:00:16 > 0:00:18But I know people don't just want to hear from me,

0:00:18 > 0:00:21they want to know the facts.

0:00:21 > 0:00:23That's why we're letting people know

0:00:23 > 0:00:25exactly what this government's achieved so far.

0:00:30 > 0:00:34I would say the deficit's gone down maybe by 1.5%.

0:00:34 > 0:00:362 or 3%.

0:00:36 > 0:00:38- 3%.- I'll be honest, I don't know.

0:00:38 > 0:00:40I would say up 30%.

0:00:40 > 0:00:41Gone up probably about 2%.

0:00:41 > 0:00:44It's gone down, but I'm afraid I don't know by how much.

0:00:49 > 0:00:51- That's great.- That is quite surprising.

0:00:51 > 0:00:54- That's pretty good going. - I think they've done well, yes.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00More tax, definitely.

0:01:00 > 0:01:02I wouldn't say any different, the same.

0:01:02 > 0:01:04We're probably paying more.

0:01:04 > 0:01:06Paying about the same as we always have done.

0:01:11 > 0:01:14It does surprise me that people are paying less tax now.

0:01:14 > 0:01:15It's good if we pay less tax, yeah.

0:01:15 > 0:01:18We have more disposable income to put back into the economy.

0:01:18 > 0:01:20I think it's a fabulous thing if we're paying less income tax.

0:01:24 > 0:01:27I suspect the employment rate probably hasn't changed.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29It's gone down in my opinion.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31A lot of people will find it quite hard to get jobs at the moment.

0:01:31 > 0:01:33Employment, I suspect, up.

0:01:33 > 0:01:35About the same I think, at the moment.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43It's surprising that there's 750,000 more jobs.

0:01:43 > 0:01:45I would say that's really good, that.

0:01:48 > 0:01:50I think the government have had to make a lot of tough decisions.

0:01:50 > 0:01:53They've had to make a lot of cutbacks in public services and people

0:01:53 > 0:01:58get very angry about that, but if I'm honest, I think it's necessary.

0:01:58 > 0:02:02I think tough measures have had to be taken,

0:02:02 > 0:02:04which are hard for a lot of us,

0:02:04 > 0:02:06but if it gets us out of this mess,

0:02:06 > 0:02:09then that's what we've got to do as a country, isn't it?

0:02:09 > 0:02:11I think we have to do what we've got to do

0:02:11 > 0:02:14for the benefit of my grandchildren, cos I don't want them

0:02:14 > 0:02:17to have to go through the struggle that a lot of people are having

0:02:17 > 0:02:18to go through today.

0:02:18 > 0:02:21So though this government has had to make some difficult decisions,

0:02:21 > 0:02:24we are making progress.

0:02:24 > 0:02:26We're paying down Britain's debts,

0:02:26 > 0:02:28insisting on excellence in our schools,

0:02:28 > 0:02:30sorting out the welfare system,

0:02:30 > 0:02:33tackling out of control immigration,

0:02:33 > 0:02:37doing what's right for Britain in the long term.

0:02:37 > 0:02:41And over the next two and a half years, no matter how tough it gets,

0:02:41 > 0:02:43that is what we'll continue to do.
