0:00:09 > 0:00:13I think my political beliefs are really quite straightforward.
0:00:13 > 0:00:16I believe that our country needs to work for everyone -
0:00:16 > 0:00:18not just for the rich, not just for the privileged,
0:00:18 > 0:00:21not just for those who know the right people or who've got
0:00:21 > 0:00:24the loudest voices, but a country that really works for everyone,
0:00:24 > 0:00:29where every single person has the opportunity to be
0:00:29 > 0:00:30who they want to be.
0:00:30 > 0:00:32In order to ensure that the country works for everyone,
0:00:32 > 0:00:34we've got to fight for it.
0:00:34 > 0:00:36Standing up for the vulnerable, for the voiceless,
0:00:36 > 0:00:41against those who feel that they're strong and powerful.
0:00:41 > 0:00:44If you're doing the right thing, then you must do that,
0:00:44 > 0:00:46however difficult it is,
0:00:46 > 0:00:48even if there seems to be an easier path to take.
0:00:48 > 0:00:49You need to have a plan,
0:00:49 > 0:00:53you need to have a vision as to what you want to do.
0:00:53 > 0:00:54But above that,
0:00:54 > 0:00:58you actually need to have determination to see it through.
0:00:58 > 0:01:00There's a streak of public service that's in me.
0:01:00 > 0:01:01It comes from my parents.
0:01:01 > 0:01:04I think it's important that people give something back.
0:01:04 > 0:01:06I think that's what makes our country strong.
0:01:06 > 0:01:09It makes our communities strong. I see it in my local communities.
0:01:09 > 0:01:13People coming together for the general good.
0:01:13 > 0:01:17As Prime Minister, I have the opportunity to deliver
0:01:17 > 0:01:18the change that people want,
0:01:18 > 0:01:23the change that I think people voted for back on June the 23rd.
0:01:23 > 0:01:25Making sure that we have a government that is on
0:01:25 > 0:01:29the side of ordinary working-class people,
0:01:29 > 0:01:33that we can ensure that we're not just getting the right deal
0:01:33 > 0:01:34for Britain abroad,
0:01:34 > 0:01:37we're also getting a better deal for people here.
0:01:37 > 0:01:39We're going to deliver on Brexit.
0:01:39 > 0:01:43It won't be straightforward and it can't be rushed,
0:01:43 > 0:01:45but we will deliver on it.
0:01:45 > 0:01:48We have the fifth-largest economy in the world.
0:01:48 > 0:01:50Employment is at a record high.
0:01:50 > 0:01:53Last year, we were the second-fastest-growing
0:01:53 > 0:01:55major economy in the world.
0:01:55 > 0:01:59So with real fundamental strengths to the British economy,
0:01:59 > 0:02:02I think there are opportunities for us to be trading around the world
0:02:02 > 0:02:06in a way that we haven't been able to do up to now,
0:02:06 > 0:02:08forging new relationships,
0:02:08 > 0:02:11new partnerships with other countries around the world.
0:02:11 > 0:02:14Britain is a country which is playing its role on the world stage,
0:02:14 > 0:02:17taking the opportunities that being
0:02:17 > 0:02:20a bold and confident and outward-looking nation provide
0:02:20 > 0:02:24but, crucially, that we are a great meritocracy.
0:02:24 > 0:02:29What should determine how you get on in life should be your hard work
0:02:29 > 0:02:32and your talents - not where you were born or who your parents were,
0:02:32 > 0:02:34what god you worship or not,
0:02:34 > 0:02:38or whether you're a man or a woman, black or white, straight or gay.
0:02:38 > 0:02:39That's what I believe in.
0:02:39 > 0:02:41That's my plan for Britain.
0:02:41 > 0:02:45And together, we can build a stronger, fairer, better Britain.
