0:00:19 > 0:00:22The deaths showed that Northern Ireland hadn't made the progress

0:00:22 > 0:00:25that it should, the progress everyone wants.

0:00:25 > 0:00:30In response some wanted to give up and hand power to London and Dublin.

0:00:31 > 0:00:35Others went for the easy option of running away.

0:00:35 > 0:00:39But the DUP took the responsible path and we have been vindicated.

0:00:39 > 0:00:42We have reached an historic agreement

0:00:42 > 0:00:46to put paramilitaries out of business once and for all.

0:00:47 > 0:00:50For the first time all parties are pledged to remove

0:00:50 > 0:00:53all paramilitary structures.

0:00:53 > 0:00:57Whilst others sat on the sidelines we worked hard

0:00:57 > 0:00:59and secured an additional £200 million

0:00:59 > 0:01:03to help the police tackle paramilitaries and organised crime.

0:01:04 > 0:01:06We have put in place a task force

0:01:06 > 0:01:10and monitoring body to deal with these issues.

0:01:10 > 0:01:12We are putting the paramilitaries on notice.

0:01:12 > 0:01:14It's time they left the stage.

0:01:16 > 0:01:20In Parliament the DUP has fought the Tory assault on tax credits.

0:01:23 > 0:01:25those 100,000 hard-working families.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28For the most vulnerable, we have secured

0:01:28 > 0:01:31the best welfare protections in the United Kingdom.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34While Sinn Fein reneged on a previous deal,

0:01:34 > 0:01:37this time Westminster is passing the legislation.

0:01:37 > 0:01:40We accept Stormont needs fixed.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43We've been saying this for over a decade.

0:01:43 > 0:01:47At last we have convinced the other parties to reform the Assembly.

0:01:47 > 0:01:50An opposition will be created next year.

0:01:50 > 0:01:54There will be fewer departments and we will reduce the number of MLAs.

0:01:54 > 0:01:58Step by step, we are fixing Stormont.

0:01:58 > 0:02:03Devolution may not be perfect, but it has been good for our economy.

0:02:03 > 0:02:05Northern Ireland is second only to London in attracting jobs

0:02:05 > 0:02:07into the United Kingdom.

0:02:07 > 0:02:12And with powers to set our own corporation tax after 2018,

0:02:12 > 0:02:15we have the chance to revolutionise our economy.

0:02:15 > 0:02:19As we deal with today's problems, we must look to the future.

0:02:19 > 0:02:23The next Assembly term will end in 2021 -

0:02:23 > 0:02:25Northern Ireland's centenary year.

0:02:26 > 0:02:29We want to celebrate our 100th birthday

0:02:29 > 0:02:32by having a Northern Ireland at peace and prospering.

0:02:32 > 0:02:33And we can do it.

0:02:33 > 0:02:36By working together, we can build it.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39Let us make Northern Ireland great once again.
