0:00:09 > 0:00:12For me, the Labour Party really represent
0:00:12 > 0:00:14a fair and equal society for everyone.
0:00:14 > 0:00:17And a lot of changes that they brought in
0:00:17 > 0:00:20when I was a graduate trainee working in the pub industry
0:00:20 > 0:00:23really helped me get equal pay
0:00:23 > 0:00:26and equal opportunities to succeed in that industry.
0:00:26 > 0:00:30Labour introduced the Single Equality Act, Sure Start Children's Centres,
0:00:30 > 0:00:32all of which are in jeopardy under this government.
0:00:32 > 0:00:37Nobody should fear for their health - they can't get medical care
0:00:37 > 0:00:38or they won't be taken care of.
0:00:38 > 0:00:41No-one should fear for their old age.
0:00:41 > 0:00:43And no-one should fear for their children's education.
0:00:43 > 0:00:46I joined the Labour Party in the early 1980s
0:00:46 > 0:00:47when my generation were told
0:00:47 > 0:00:51they weren't going to have a job and they had very little future.
0:00:51 > 0:00:53That changed under Tony and Gordon,
0:00:53 > 0:00:56but now we're going back under David Cameron and Nick Clegg.
0:00:56 > 0:00:59We're all realising now that those 10, 12, 13 years
0:00:59 > 0:01:03that Labour were in, as we were coming towards the end of it,
0:01:03 > 0:01:07those waiting lists were going down and down and down.
0:01:07 > 0:01:09And what happens under a Tory government?
0:01:09 > 0:01:13It always starts going up and up and up as the cuts start biting.
0:01:13 > 0:01:18You look at this fragmented coalition that we've got,
0:01:18 > 0:01:19how can you possibly have a team
0:01:19 > 0:01:22with different views and different visions?
0:01:22 > 0:01:24It can only get worse for them two.
0:01:24 > 0:01:29So this is an opportunity for us to get forward, be a team,
0:01:29 > 0:01:33stick together, believe in a principle, believe in a future.
0:01:33 > 0:01:35That's so important.
0:01:35 > 0:01:39I am a positive person, I like to be optimistic, but I think
0:01:39 > 0:01:43it would help us a great deal if we got rid of the Tory government
0:01:43 > 0:01:47and got the Labour Party back into power with Ed heading it all up.
0:01:47 > 0:01:51I think there's a great optimism in the country through the Labour Party.
0:01:51 > 0:01:54I'm sure of that. I think all our members wish for that.
0:01:54 > 0:01:56I certainly hope so, my family hope so.
0:01:56 > 0:01:58I've always been Labour, I won't change.
0:01:58 > 0:02:00I remember, aged about 11,
0:02:00 > 0:02:03all the pits were closing down in Cannock, where I grew up.
0:02:03 > 0:02:06My dad got made redundant from the mine.
0:02:06 > 0:02:08It was always a struggle for my mum and dad.
0:02:08 > 0:02:13And for me to have had the opportunity to go to university
0:02:13 > 0:02:16and progress and be doing what I'm doing now,
0:02:16 > 0:02:19I really want other bright, young girls to be able to do
0:02:19 > 0:02:23the same as me and I really think that the Labour Party are the people
0:02:23 > 0:02:24that can make that happen.
0:02:24 > 0:02:28I am excited at the prospect that the Labour Party will take over
0:02:28 > 0:02:29at the next election.
0:02:29 > 0:02:32I think we can do anything we decide to do together.
0:02:32 > 0:02:33And with the right leadership,
0:02:33 > 0:02:35I think we can achieve miraculous things.
