:00:16. > :00:20.I go round the country talking to people and so many people say life
:00:21. > :00:24.is an incredible struggle at the moment and if it is not a struggle
:00:25. > :00:30.now, they feel uncertain about the future. They feel what kind of
:00:31. > :00:33.future am I going to have? What kind of future are my family going to
:00:34. > :00:36.have? People have lost that confidence that there is going to be
:00:37. > :00:40.a future that is better than the past. Now there is sense of we have
:00:41. > :00:43.been through the pain, we have made the sacrifices, where is the vision
:00:44. > :00:47.for the country? Where is this country going? It is time we have a
:00:48. > :00:55.plan and that is what my plan for Britain's future is about. The
:00:56. > :00:59.starting point for me is that working people should share in the
:01:00. > :01:04.growing wealth of the country. I meet so many people and they find it
:01:05. > :01:10.a desperate struggle to make ends meet. What does that say about us as
:01:11. > :01:14.a country? Hard work isn't rewarded. That is something we pride ourselves
:01:15. > :01:18.on as a country. That is why we are setting a clear objective to reduce
:01:19. > :01:23.poverty for those in work, so, over five years, we will get to a minimum
:01:24. > :01:26.wage of over ?8 and that will send a message that hard work is going to
:01:27. > :01:31.be rewarded again in our country. That is a starting point for what we
:01:32. > :01:35.can do. We can only succeed as a country if
:01:36. > :01:41.we use the talents of all our young people. For far too long,
:01:42. > :01:50.governments of both parties have spent a lot of time worrying about
:01:51. > :01:54.who was going to university. I would have no idea what qualifications I
:01:55. > :01:58.should be doing. We will set a clear national goal which says over ten
:01:59. > :02:02.years, we get as many young people into apprenticeships as we get into
:02:03. > :02:08.university. That is a big and dramatic change for our country. It
:02:09. > :02:11.will require everyone to step up. I think this is the question - what
:02:12. > :02:15.gives you security in life? The love of people you care about? Work? But
:02:16. > :02:22.also the confidence and security of a home and so many people are denied
:02:23. > :02:25.that confidence and security and don't feel they have a future to
:02:26. > :02:31.look forward to. Our aim for the country is we are building as many
:02:32. > :02:33.homes as the country needs. We have to break the power of the big
:02:34. > :02:50.developers because they are sitting on hundreds of thousands acres of
:02:51. > :02:53.land with no planning permission. People often think about the
:02:54. > :02:56.environment as being about safeguarding the planet for future
:02:57. > :03:00.generations. I care about that in relation to my kids and future
:03:01. > :03:04.generations. It is not just about that. It is about what jobs are our
:03:05. > :03:10.sons and daughters going to be doing? We have to create the jobs of
:03:11. > :03:14.the future. We are setting a clear ten-year goal to create a million
:03:15. > :03:24.new jobs in the environmental technologies of the future and make
:03:25. > :03:29.Britain a world leader. There's deep anxiety about our NHS,
:03:30. > :03:34.among patients, doctors, nurses. Is our NHS going to be there in five
:03:35. > :03:39.years' time if this Government gets back? I am deeply committed to our
:03:40. > :03:44.NHS. I'm committed to it in deeds. That is why we are committing to
:03:45. > :03:49.8,000 more doctors and 20,000 more nurses. We will raise taxes on the
:03:50. > :03:53.wealthiest with homes above ?2 million and clampdown on tax
:03:54. > :03:58.avoidance and use all of that money to improve our NHS and make sure it
:03:59. > :04:02.is there for future generations. I think you can say there is a plan
:04:03. > :04:06.for the future. We are a country that is going somewhere and not a
:04:07. > :04:10.country that works just for the richest in our society. It is
:04:11. > :04:16.possible to build a country that does work for all and not just for
:04:17. > :04:22.some. Tories have this idea that as long as the richest are doing OK,
:04:23. > :04:25.everyone else will magically benefit from it. My view of success for a
:04:26. > :04:29.country is everybody playing their part from top to bottom in society
:04:30. > :04:34.and it is about in the end who counts. Is it just a few that count?
:04:35. > :04:42.Or is it every day working people that really count? This election
:04:43. > :04:47.will come down to that question - do you want a Prime Minister who is
:04:48. > :04:50.thinking about you and your family? That is the election choice.
