0:00:02 > 0:00:03Since the independence referendum,

0:00:03 > 0:00:06friendships and families have been divided.

0:00:06 > 0:00:09We've seen so much division, so much of the politics of "us and them".

0:00:09 > 0:00:12You can no longer have a healthy conversation about politics.

0:00:12 > 0:00:15It's now become a thing that you just don't talk about

0:00:15 > 0:00:17if you don't want to start an argument.

0:00:17 > 0:00:19Other Scots looked at you in a different way

0:00:19 > 0:00:22just because you chose a different vision for your country.

0:00:22 > 0:00:24We've spent too many years obsessing

0:00:24 > 0:00:26over the differences that divide us,

0:00:26 > 0:00:27and we've not achieved

0:00:27 > 0:00:29anything greater within that time.

0:00:29 > 0:00:32I'm from the Western Isles and I've had lots of friends and family

0:00:32 > 0:00:35have to move away from the island to find work on the mainland.

0:00:35 > 0:00:39It's become a particular problem for young people in Scotland today.

0:00:39 > 0:00:41We need a government that's focused on creating jobs

0:00:41 > 0:00:44all across the country, no matter where you live.

0:00:44 > 0:00:46Politics is already so polarised,

0:00:46 > 0:00:49and the attention's being taken away from places where it should be.

0:00:49 > 0:00:51As a medical student, you do see the struggles

0:00:51 > 0:00:53of the health care service.

0:00:53 > 0:00:55I work as a domestic at St John's in Livingston.

0:00:55 > 0:00:59It's sad to see one of our greatest assets as a country

0:00:59 > 0:01:01just left aside of the agenda.

0:01:03 > 0:01:06When the NHS works, it changes people's lives.

0:01:06 > 0:01:09It's such an important part of being Scottish.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11Right now, I'm training to be a teacher because

0:01:11 > 0:01:13if my teachers weren't there for me,

0:01:13 > 0:01:16then I would've probably fallen through the railings.

0:01:16 > 0:01:19Education is the most powerful weapon that a country can ever use,

0:01:19 > 0:01:21and that's why I think it's so important

0:01:21 > 0:01:24that we invest in it instead of cutting it.

0:01:24 > 0:01:26We need a government that will build more houses,

0:01:26 > 0:01:28especially more affordable houses.

0:01:28 > 0:01:30It doesn't matter whether you're rich or poor,

0:01:30 > 0:01:33everyone should have the same chance and opportunity

0:01:33 > 0:01:35to own a home at some point in their lifetime.

0:01:35 > 0:01:37Unity means pulling together for the benefit of everyone,

0:01:37 > 0:01:40despite where someone comes from or what they look like.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43The world is changing so quickly that it's more important than ever

0:01:43 > 0:01:45that Scotland's voice is heard.

0:01:45 > 0:01:47The best way to achieve this is as part of the UK,

0:01:47 > 0:01:50while still allowing the decisions that affect Scotland the most

0:01:50 > 0:01:51to be taken in the Scottish Parliament.

0:01:51 > 0:01:54We're divided enough. We need to unite now.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56We need to see what's best for Scotland.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59There's far more that we agree on than what we disagree on,

0:01:59 > 0:02:02and that's what we should be focusing on for our future.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04Scotland is stronger as a nation when we work together.

0:02:04 > 0:02:07Just look at what we've achieved in the past -

0:02:07 > 0:02:10the NHS, the minimum wage, the Scottish Parliament -

0:02:10 > 0:02:14all things won against the odds because we chose to stand as one.

0:02:14 > 0:02:17We have an opportunity now to create a nation that we all want.

0:02:17 > 0:02:20We all voted for a better Scotland. Let's make one.
