0:00:00 > 0:00:05The last two years have been about keeping our country together.
0:00:05 > 0:00:09The next eight months are about how we change our country.
0:00:09 > 0:00:10And, you know, we need a party
0:00:10 > 0:00:14that can speak for the whole of the United Kingdom,
0:00:14 > 0:00:16for every part of the United Kingdom,
0:00:16 > 0:00:19for every set of people in the United Kingdom.
0:00:20 > 0:00:23There's a party that can do that, friends.
0:00:23 > 0:00:25That is the Labour Party.
0:00:27 > 0:00:29I go round the country and talk to people
0:00:29 > 0:00:32and so many people say life's an incredible struggle at the moment
0:00:32 > 0:00:35and even if it's not a struggle now,
0:00:35 > 0:00:38people have lost that confidence that there is going to be a future
0:00:38 > 0:00:40that is better than the past,
0:00:40 > 0:00:42that their kids are going to do better than them.
0:00:42 > 0:00:45I think that now there is a sense of we've been through the pain,
0:00:45 > 0:00:47we've made the sacrifices.
0:00:47 > 0:00:50Where is the vision for the country? Where is this country going?
0:00:50 > 0:00:51It's time we had a plan
0:00:51 > 0:00:54and that's what my plan for Britain's future is about.
0:00:58 > 0:01:00The starting point for me
0:01:00 > 0:01:04is that working people should share in the growing wealth of the country,
0:01:04 > 0:01:08and that's why we're setting a clear objective to reduce poverty for
0:01:08 > 0:01:13those in work so, over five years, we'll get to a minimum wage over £8.
0:01:13 > 0:01:14That will benefit families.
0:01:14 > 0:01:17It will send a message that hard work is going to be rewarded
0:01:17 > 0:01:21again in our country, so that's a starting point for what we can do.
0:01:26 > 0:01:28We can only succeed as a country
0:01:28 > 0:01:30if we use the talents of all our young people
0:01:30 > 0:01:34and for far too long, governments of both parties have spent a lot
0:01:34 > 0:01:37of time worrying about those going to university, and that's fine,
0:01:37 > 0:01:39but if I was a 14-year-old today
0:01:39 > 0:01:41and I wasn't going down the academic route,
0:01:41 > 0:01:44I think I would have no idea what qualifications
0:01:44 > 0:01:45I was supposed to be doing,
0:01:45 > 0:01:47what future I should be looking forward to.
0:01:47 > 0:01:50And what it means is that my government will be saying,
0:01:50 > 0:01:54at every opportunity, we'll be making sure apprenticeships actually happen.
0:01:54 > 0:01:56If you want a major government contract,
0:01:56 > 0:01:58you must provide apprenticeships.
0:01:58 > 0:02:00If you bring in workers from outside the European Union,
0:02:00 > 0:02:03you must provide apprenticeships to the next generation.
0:02:03 > 0:02:06Now that is a big and dramatic change for our country
0:02:06 > 0:02:09and it's going to require everyone to step up.
0:02:11 > 0:02:14People often think about the environment as being
0:02:14 > 0:02:16about safeguarding the planet for future generations.
0:02:16 > 0:02:19I really care about that but it's not just about that.
0:02:19 > 0:02:22It's about what jobs are our sons and daughters going to be doing?
0:02:25 > 0:02:27We've got to create the jobs of the future in this country
0:02:27 > 0:02:29and we're setting a very clear ten-year goal to create
0:02:29 > 0:02:32a million new jobs in the environmental
0:02:32 > 0:02:35technologies of the future and make Britain a world leader.
0:02:43 > 0:02:46I think we can actually say there is a plan for the future.
0:02:46 > 0:02:49We are a country that's going somewhere, knows where it's going,
0:02:49 > 0:02:50and not the country which increasingly works
0:02:50 > 0:02:52just for the richest in our society.
0:02:52 > 0:02:54A different way is possible.
0:02:54 > 0:02:57It is possible to build a country that does work for all
0:02:57 > 0:02:59and not just for some.
0:02:59 > 0:03:00The Tories have this idea that,
0:03:00 > 0:03:03as long the richest few people are doing OK,
0:03:03 > 0:03:06everyone else will somehow magically benefit from it
0:03:06 > 0:03:08and that's not the way I think a country succeeds.
0:03:08 > 0:03:11My view of success for a country is everybody playing their part
0:03:11 > 0:03:16from top to bottom in society and it is about, in the end, who counts.
0:03:16 > 0:03:18Is it just a few that count
0:03:18 > 0:03:21or is it everyday working people that really count?
0:03:21 > 0:03:23This election is going to come down to that question.
0:03:23 > 0:03:25Do you want a Prime Minister, in David Cameron,
0:03:25 > 0:03:28who's got a different idea about how a country succeeds?
0:03:28 > 0:03:32Or do you want a Prime Minister who's thinking about you and your family?
0:03:32 > 0:03:34And THAT is the election choice.
