0:00:04 > 0:00:07INAUDIBLE
0:00:10 > 0:00:13What do you do in your job all day?
0:00:13 > 0:00:15I try to help people.
0:00:15 > 0:00:18But my favourite thing, my absolute favourite thing to do is
0:00:18 > 0:00:22to make sure that kids like you get the best possible chance in life.
0:00:22 > 0:00:26That's my number one priority and that's what my party stands for.
0:00:26 > 0:00:29Why is there a Labour Party?
0:00:29 > 0:00:31To help people. To help working people.
0:00:31 > 0:00:34We want everybody in the country to have a decent job,
0:00:34 > 0:00:36but if you're going to get a decent job,
0:00:36 > 0:00:38you have to get a decent education, right?
0:00:38 > 0:00:40So we've got to make sure we spend lots of money on schools so that
0:00:40 > 0:00:43when you leave school, you can get the job that you want to have.
0:00:43 > 0:00:46What are you going to be when you grow up?
0:00:46 > 0:00:47In charge of Doctor Who.
0:00:47 > 0:00:51In charge of Doctor Who? That's a great job!
0:01:00 > 0:01:04Will I get paid the same amount of money as Lucas when I grow up?
0:01:04 > 0:01:07Well, if you were grown up now, no.
0:01:07 > 0:01:11For every pound that you'd earn, you'd only get 89p.
0:01:11 > 0:01:13So that's unfair. That's 11p difference
0:01:13 > 0:01:15just because he's a boy and you're a girl.
0:01:15 > 0:01:16So I'm going to work to change that.
0:01:16 > 0:01:19I'm going to make sure that in the future, boys and girls will earn
0:01:19 > 0:01:22the same amount of money for the same job that they do.
0:01:22 > 0:01:24Is your job really hard?
0:01:24 > 0:01:28Sometimes it's hard, but all the time, it's really, really exciting.
0:01:28 > 0:01:30It's an absolute privilege to do what I do,
0:01:30 > 0:01:33but it's my job to make sure the government do the right thing.
0:01:33 > 0:01:35And the Scottish Parliament's got lots of powers
0:01:35 > 0:01:38and more powers are coming to the Scottish Parliament,
0:01:38 > 0:01:40so, if we want to, we can make Scotland
0:01:40 > 0:01:43a fairer and better place for everyone.
0:01:43 > 0:01:47What job do you think I might do when I'm older?
0:01:47 > 0:01:50You could be absolutely anything that you want to be,
0:01:50 > 0:01:52whether that's an engineer
0:01:52 > 0:01:55or a computer coder, somebody who makes computer games,
0:01:55 > 0:01:59a writer, an athlete, a doctor or a scientist.
0:01:59 > 0:02:01And if you can't do any of those things,
0:02:01 > 0:02:03you could be a politician.
0:02:03 > 0:02:06Scottish Labour is changing and under my leadership,
0:02:06 > 0:02:09there'll be no doubt what the Scottish Labour Party stands for
0:02:09 > 0:02:11and who we stand with.
0:02:11 > 0:02:14I believe in the potential of every single child in Scotland
0:02:14 > 0:02:17and I want them to get on in life. I want them to achieve that potential
0:02:17 > 0:02:20and I want it to be determined by their talent, their potential
0:02:20 > 0:02:21and how hard they work,
0:02:21 > 0:02:25not how much their parents earn or what school they went to.
0:02:30 > 0:02:31I want every single child in Scotland
0:02:31 > 0:02:33to have the best possible start in life.
