0:00:11 > 0:00:13The Welsh economy is struggling.

0:00:13 > 0:00:16After years of Labour rule from Westminster and Cardiff,

0:00:16 > 0:00:19Wales has become the poorest part of the United Kingdom.

0:00:19 > 0:00:22We used to top the league tables for inward investment.

0:00:22 > 0:00:25Now we're at the bottom of the inward investment league tables.

0:00:25 > 0:00:29Wales can do so much better if ministers in London and Cardiff

0:00:29 > 0:00:32work together to make Wales a more prosperous place.

0:00:32 > 0:00:34There is so much more that needs to be done

0:00:34 > 0:00:38to help our communities through this economic downturn.

0:00:38 > 0:00:41We need to help businesses. We need to help jobseekers.

0:00:42 > 0:00:45We're now in the fifth year of the economic downturn.

0:00:45 > 0:00:49We need a credible plan to put our economy back on a steady footing,

0:00:49 > 0:00:52so Conservatives in government are taking decisive action

0:00:52 > 0:00:55and tough decisions to reduce the deficit

0:00:55 > 0:00:59and address the huge burden of debt we inherited from Labour.

0:00:59 > 0:01:04It isn't easy and these are not decisions we'd have wanted to take.

0:01:04 > 0:01:07But we need to restore stability to our economy

0:01:07 > 0:01:10and create the right conditions

0:01:10 > 0:01:12to help our businesses develop and grow,

0:01:12 > 0:01:15to create new jobs and new apprenticeships

0:01:15 > 0:01:17for our talented young people.

0:01:17 > 0:01:21Since 2010, the Coalition Government at Westminster

0:01:21 > 0:01:23has been investing in Wales.

0:01:23 > 0:01:28For example, we're spending £57 million on super-fast broadband across Wales

0:01:28 > 0:01:31meaning that, by 2015, Welsh homes and businesses

0:01:31 > 0:01:35will be connected to one of the most modern internet systems in Europe.

0:01:35 > 0:01:39We're also electrifying the Great Western mainline and the Valleys lines,

0:01:39 > 0:01:43the biggest transport investment Wales has seen in a generation,

0:01:43 > 0:01:46connecting Swansea to London in record time,

0:01:46 > 0:01:50giving Cardiff the transport system a capital city needs.

0:01:50 > 0:01:55We need to work together, to put Wales first.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57That's what the people of Wales want

0:01:57 > 0:02:01and that's what we Conservatives think is the right thing to do.

0:02:01 > 0:02:04A successful nation should be a healthy nation,

0:02:04 > 0:02:10but Labour plans to take over half a billion pounds out of the Welsh NHS over the next three years.

0:02:10 > 0:02:13There are 24 cancer drugs routinely available in England

0:02:13 > 0:02:15that aren't prescribed in Wales,

0:02:15 > 0:02:19so Welsh Conservatives create supporting a cancer drugs fund

0:02:19 > 0:02:22that would help patients and families in their hour of need.

0:02:22 > 0:02:27And WE are the only party pledged to protect the NHS budget.

0:02:27 > 0:02:31Labour in Wales are cutting the NHS budget by more than £500 million,

0:02:31 > 0:02:33closing local services,

0:02:33 > 0:02:36making it harder for people to access treatment.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39Welsh education needs improving too,

0:02:39 > 0:02:42if we're to have a workforce fit for the 21st century.

0:02:42 > 0:02:45We'll increase frontline funding for schools in Wales.

0:02:45 > 0:02:51Over £600 less is spent here per pupil than in England every year.

0:02:51 > 0:02:53We would fund schools directly,

0:02:53 > 0:02:56so that teachers and governors, not politicians,

0:02:56 > 0:02:58decide where money is best spent.

0:02:58 > 0:03:00Wales needs an education system

0:03:00 > 0:03:03that not only competes with other parts of the UK,

0:03:03 > 0:03:05but with the best of the rest of the world.

0:03:05 > 0:03:09Welsh children need to be able to compete in a world economy.

0:03:09 > 0:03:13We need a system that delivers a world-class education.

0:03:13 > 0:03:17Under Labour, Wales has become the poorest part of the United Kingdom.

0:03:17 > 0:03:19Our educational attainment levels

0:03:19 > 0:03:21are the poorest in the United Kingdom.

0:03:21 > 0:03:24But it doesn't have to be like this.

0:03:24 > 0:03:26Welsh Conservatives have real ambition.

0:03:26 > 0:03:29We want action and we want achievement.

0:03:29 > 0:03:32So Welsh Conservatives want to work together,

0:03:32 > 0:03:36to make sure Wales becomes a more prosperous, pleasant place to live.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39We believe that's what YOU want us to do.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42That is why we want to be your voice, in Wales,

0:03:42 > 0:03:43the Welsh Conservatives.
