0:00:20 > 0:00:23in particular younger families, who are struggling.

0:00:24 > 0:00:27For a considerable period of time I was a single parent

0:00:27 > 0:00:31and you have to manage and you have to sort of budget,

0:00:31 > 0:00:34you have to count the pennies and you have to make

0:00:34 > 0:00:39decisions about what becomes a luxury as opposed to a necessity.

0:00:39 > 0:00:43Speaking to a lot of working parents, they are facing redundancy,

0:00:43 > 0:00:48job insecurity, and some working women are making really tough decisions.

0:01:04 > 0:01:08We're taking Joseph to school. His school is about eight miles away.

0:01:09 > 0:01:14We rely on decent priced fuel to enable us

0:01:14 > 0:01:17to carry out basic everyday tasks, especially taking your child

0:01:17 > 0:01:23to school, where you want to educate them, to make sure they get

0:01:23 > 0:01:25the best start in life possible.

0:01:25 > 0:01:29If you're struggling to get them there in the first place,

0:01:29 > 0:01:32that has a huge impact on working families.

0:01:43 > 0:01:46He's lucky, as most children in Wales are,

0:01:46 > 0:01:49in that they benefit from free breakfast.

0:01:49 > 0:01:54The Welsh Government's commitment to this means that working families

0:01:54 > 0:01:58can stay in work rather than make a stark choice of having to give up their job,

0:01:58 > 0:02:02simply because they can't afford to look after their children.

0:02:04 > 0:02:07I feel that the other parties are not doing enough.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10People are in absolute despair at this moment in time in Wales -

0:02:10 > 0:02:14decent, honest working people who make a valid contribution to our economy.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16Right now, because of the austerity cuts

0:02:16 > 0:02:19and the way in which central government is operating,

0:02:19 > 0:02:22I am worried about Joseph's future.

0:02:22 > 0:02:26However, with Welsh Labour and their policies around education

0:02:26 > 0:02:30and their policies around challenging youth unemployment,

0:02:30 > 0:02:33around skills for life, then I know they are going

0:02:33 > 0:02:36to help make a difference to Joseph's life for the future.
