0:15:35 > 0:15:37HE SHOUTS
0:21:28 > 0:21:31How popular have triathlons become here in Northern Ireland
0:21:31 > 0:21:33in the last 10 years?
0:21:33 > 0:21:35They've become hugely popular, not only in Northern Ireland
0:21:35 > 0:21:37but throughout the entire country.
0:21:37 > 0:21:39I started triathlon about nine years ago
0:21:39 > 0:21:43after my brother Connor had been involved in them for several years.
0:21:43 > 0:21:49And at that stage, there were about 500 members in Triathlon Ireland.
0:21:49 > 0:21:54This year, they have surpassed 5,500,
0:21:54 > 0:21:55so that growth is phenomenal.
0:21:56 > 0:21:59I think why the sport is catching on so much
0:21:59 > 0:22:02is it gives people an opportunity, really, to challenge themselves
0:22:02 > 0:22:05and to test themselves against the course.
0:22:05 > 0:22:08For 95% of people in the field,
0:22:08 > 0:22:11it's not about winning, it's about completing.
0:22:11 > 0:22:13So the challenge is to get round the course
0:22:13 > 0:22:14and you can do that at your own pace.
0:24:08 > 0:24:11Some do it the other way round, but I find it uncomfortable.
